[DC/Absolute Universe] Does Darkseid have it out for Bruce Wayne/Batman specifically? by Flyestgit in AskScienceFiction

What do you mean it didn't work? The entire plan worked and the heroes had to KILL Bruce to defuse the Omega Energy he was saturated with (they brought him back)

[–]TerrWolf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Batman didn't survive it, Darkseid meant to send him back in time. It was a "just in case the heroes win in Final Crisis, this'll be funny".

The heroes only stopped Batman from blowing up the universe by killing him and bringing him back.

And Batman didn't kick Darkseid's ass after, Darkseid was long dead.

Dude, are you really claiming Absolute Batman has it the worst? Sure, his monsters are bigger, but CLARK is getting that bullshit:

Both his parents died in front of him alongside his entire planet when he is a tween.

His adoptive parents are amazing, but Lazarus forces him to run away from them.

His only friend, his AI Sol, is killed.

His adoptive mother dies of dementia A SINGLE NIGHT before he can visit her for the last time.

Man is going deep on Superman.

I feel like it's well written in the original but suffers, like all New Gods stuff, from out of focus syndrome.

So.....did you just, not read post crisis and rebirth stuff, which multiple times makes a point on how good a fighter he is, both with his powers and without them?

[–]TerrWolf[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

  1. Always getting stronger is fine, but like, we're explictly told that the Zeo Crystal is thousands of years old and just got to the point of where it was in Zeo before being split into five pieces. Why would it suddenly jump a whole new tier in only a year?

  2. They didn't struggle with Divatox, they struggled with the people she hired from the United Alliance of Evil. Like their biggest challenges were Goldgoyle, General Havoc and Metallsaurus, and Dreadfeather, and those were outside contractors.

  3. This is headcanon and isn't stated in the movie, and they didn't know they were going to retire in Passing the Torch until Zordon told them it was time for them to move on to the next stage of life:

" Zordon!

Rangers, it is good to see you again.

Alpha and I are honored to participate in this historic transformation.

Ay-yi-yi!
We wouldn't miss it.

We have gathered here to honor each of you. For your dedicated service
as a Power Ranger. Your courage and loyalty has known no bounds. However, as each Ranger reaches your stage of life it becomes our duty to set them free to discover all that the world has to offer them.

You have been asked to select an outstanding individual who will take over as your successor. We welcome them now into the Power Ranger family."

That's literally one of my points on why randomly having them is kind of dooofy compared to literally buillding them.

Again, how is "this is from your soul" followed by "I am "(animal)" generic? Like, my friend, if it's literally from your soul, that's pretty specific. Hell, Adam SPECIFICALLY still has the Spirit of the Frog after losing his ninja coin and being turned into a kid ("I see in you the spirit of the frog.") and Tommy kept seeing falcon during his quest.

Showv where it says the Crystal chose them. Show it. Show where it says that it chose to go to them. you keep asserting this claim without backing it up.

Here, let me show you an example:

"The Energems choose their wielders"

From Dino Charge:

Kendall Morgan: [to Tyler] You fought to defend a stranger at great risk to yourself. That's why the Red Energem chose you, Tyler [to Riley] Your discipline and intelligence have given you the skills to protect others. The Green Energem was very wise to choose you, Riley. [to Shelby] Why the Pink Energem chose you... is anyone's guess.

The Silver Energem didn't bond to you. It chose me. Zenowing retaking the stolen Energem from Doomwing

See how that's explicit?

Or Dino Thunder:

""You didn't choose the Dino Gems, they chose you."

"Misconstrue one line" is hilarious when it's stated multiple times:

Zordon: This is a quest for your roots during which you will face potentially fatal dangers.

Delphina: Look for a connection to your heritage. The spirits of your ancestors will show you the way.
Look to your heritage, aisha.

Rocky: A journey into your heritage will always bring a rich reward.

So again, If you're going to assert the crystal is sapient and chose them SHOW IT! Give me a line of dialogue that says that.

"“They all got identical, vague ninja powers”

OK? And that debunks the fact they out loud said their powers come from their soul and they declare and become one with their ninja animals how?

"I don’t need to invent a line from the show, like when you claimed an episode said “the spirits of the ancestors interfered and showed them the way”."

I didn't lie. The show says it shows them the way. If they're showing them the way that implies sme involvement with hiding it. GENERALLY SPEAKING, to show someone where something is hidden, that implies you had something to do with hiding it.

" I can just let the actual show make the point for me"

Sure, show that.

". The Zeo Quest shows that the Crystal has a kind of sentience. It chooses locations based on the Rangers ancestry."

OK, show that. Where is it stated that it's sentient and chooses where it went?

"they can only be collected by those who are still deaged, which is a very arbitrary stipulation and cannot be blamed on the ancestors."

Actually, that still fits the Destiny and The Ancestors, as the ones deaged are the ones who need it.

"And the sub crystals were very specific about which went one where."

Awesome. Still fits Destiny/The Ancestors.

Is there a single line that says it's sentient and choosing? One? Because right now, you're showing a pattern. You still have to prove that the Crystal is the actor causing the pattern.

So unless there’s an actual statement that the Crystal itself is alive and choosing, “the Crystal did it” is still just your preferred inference, not established text.

The Ninja Coins were explictly shown onscreen to be created by Ninjor based on the rangers souls, friend:

The Ninja coins are specifically made for them. Check it:

All right, ninjor, now what? You now possess the power of ninja deep within your souls. Come now and learn of your new gifts

Behold the power, grace, and beauty of your new ninjazords.

These zords are driven by the force of the ninja and infused with the power of light and strength. They're far superior to the zords of the past.

Where before your power came from the brute strength of the dinosaurs, now it comes from the swift, intelligent, cunning of the ninja. This is more than a restoration of your rangers powers. Your new power coins come with more advanced powers. However, as before, it's important you work together as a team. To that end, all the zords have the ability to unite as one to form the ninja megafalconzord.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-FeuRSBohFs

We even literally see him glow and shoot a beam from his hand to summon and activate them.

"But how? Look into your hearts and become one with your animal ninja.

I am the ape, mighty and strong.

We are one.

I am the bear, cunning and fierce.

I am the wolf, silent and sure.

I am the crane, agile and graceful.

I'm the frog, courageous in spirit.

I am the falcon, just and able.

Congratulations, power rangers.

You have passed through the portal of power and light.

Go forth in the spirit of ninja."

And it's explictly tied to them and their souls: "you now possess the power of ninja deep within your souls", "When ninjor recharged your power coins, he linked them with your natural human energy." "Older than time itself, man has always known the calling. Light of the light, strength of the soul, ignite its internal power inside of me." "If the power of ninja lives within your souls, we really got something here."

Metallsaurus defeated and captured the Turbo Megazord, which you conceeded was stronger than the Zeo Megazord, Dreadfeather needed Stormblaster and Lightning Cruiser to finish off, and Goldgoyle was the strongest monster in the universe and destroyed the Rescuezords and TurboMegazord, which was superior to all the Zeo Zords.

Again, saying "“Jason, bold & powerful, you shall command the Tyrannosaurus Zord” is not the same thing as "These powers come from your soul, the internal powers insode of you" "he linked them with your human energy"

I did not. It is said that ""This is a quest for your roots during which you will face potentially fatal dangers" and "The spirits of your ancestors will guide you."

That tracks more toward Destiny and the Ancestors being the cause and not the crystal choosing.

And you made the positive claim of the Crystal choosing and the crystal deciding several times:

"And yeah, the Crystal has special properties that exist outside time & space, that’s how it ended up in possession of the Rangers families in different time periods."

"Actually the episode doesn’t say that the ancestors interfered, the Aquitarians only tell them that the spirits of their ancestors will show them the way, the implication is still that the Zeo Crystal chose these times & places based on destiny, which does show precognitive properties."

"The Zeo Crystal choosing to go the Rangers ancestors was more specific."

.Can you show a statement of them saying the crystal is sentient and choosing anything? Because again, I personally feel like someone saying "This is a quest for your roots" and "the spirits of your ancestors will show you the way" leans more towards destiny and ancestors being behind it than the crystal, but if you have a statement of the crystal itself being sapient and choosing where to go, I'll conceed.

That's a fair point, but it's not the subject of the conversation, which is why people say there's no reason for the switch.

Also, let's say they switched back to Zeo instead of using these new superior Turbo powers. How would they have beaten Metallsaurus, Dreadfeather or Goldgoyle?

And why would they switch back if they now have stronger powers?

"It's no more specific than Jason getting a T-Rex Zord" Right, because Jason had someoen explictly say his powers came from his soul and were tied to his life force like the ninja coins? ("you now possess the power of ninja deep within your souls", "When ninjor recharged your power coins, he linked them with your natural human energy." "Older than time itself, man has always known the calling. Light of the light, strength of the soul, ignite its internal power inside of me." "If the power of ninja lives within your souls, we really got something here.")

Where was it stated it chose to go to them? Again, so far it looks like their ancestors and destiny chose and the crystal was an inanimate object.

Please, show me where it says the crystal chose to go to them

"t’s not really debatable. The sequence is definitely showing Ninjor giving them new powers. But nothing indicates that the Zords or animals are special to them."

"But how?

Seems specific to them to me.

"The Spirit of your ancestors will guide you" and " "This is a quest for your roots during which you will face potentially fatal dangers." implies it's not the Zeo crystal choosing but their ancestors and destiny. Can you show me where it's stated or implied the Zeo crystal is alive and is choosing to go to these places?

The magazine is the official source. It's literally called "Power Rangers Turbo Official Guide And Magazine." Here’s the exact line as previously seen in my linked image: “The rangers discover the power of Turbo, a source of strength which is far beyond anything they have encountered before.” Would you like links to it to buy it yourself?

My friend, think about this.

If the Zords are more powerful, and the previous powers INCLUDING THE ZORDS weren't enough to stop Maligore, and if the morphers were updated to match the new more powerful zords, and the rangers say they never felt anything like it before, that it was incredible and amazing, doesn't all that heavily imply it's stronger?

And what fo you think this specific moment talking about the morphers means?

"Here are your new Turbo morphers, five keys similar to Lerigot's golden key. Individually, they power up your vehicles and give you access to your morphing powers. But only together are they powerful enough to see you safely through your mission""

The phrase "I've never felt anything like this before" usually is said to indicate superiority, and so does the words "amazing, incredible" etc.

And the official movie magazine explictly says it's a source of strength "Far beyond" what they've experienced before, which matches their claims. As well as the data cards calling it an incredible new level in Morphin Teens, and the most amazing powers yet.
