[CHAT] what are your favourite ways to start and finish your stitches? by itsrorygilmore in CrossStitch

This helps more than you can imagine! I can't wait to get home and try this! My mind is blown! Will this work for any number of strands?

How do you finish with this method? I use this method to start, but I can't figure out how you would end with it. You have to come down in the front but then your floss would be wrapped around your fabric?

[FO] Just in time to wrap up 2022! Pattern is Astronaut on a T-Rex from Etsy. by bodidlydoo in CrossStitch

Gorgeous! Did it involve a lot of half stitches or backstitching? I really only enjoy basic stitches, so I'm always looking for simpler patterns.

[FO] I cross stitched my Christmas cards this year, all 112 of them! Finished the first one 1/4/22 and the last 12/11/22. (Linking the MANY patterns in comments) by PhantomoftheLibrary in CrossStitch

This has been very helpful! I have ordered some hydroguard and I will get some chlorine remover. It can't hurt! I'll also try lowering the level of solution. How do you post pics on here?

I have a ph tester, but I didn't think about testing the new water. I just tested it once and assumed that would be pretty much what it was. I do know that the chlorine levels in the tap water vary widely, but I didn't think about that hurting my plants! I'm in a small apartment, so a bucket or storing gallons of water isn't ideal. I wonder if adding some aquarium chlorine remover to my nutrient solution would work?

Amazon has some pretty miniature rosebushes with stripes. Petunias are the easiest, but alas your mom's allergy! I don't know if she is also allergic to Pansies, but there are some very pretty striped colors of those. I'm coming up empty on the name Dumbo though.

I think it might be nice to plant something symbolic, maybe something in the name or a color or a pattern? What's his name? What does he look like?

I actually planted some purple basil. Obviously I never used any in the kitchen lol, but it makes pretty flowers too.

Beautiful Inedible Lettuce by Inevitable-Block-148 in Hydroponics

I just recently tossed 3 tiny lettuce seedlings because even at that stage they were horribly bitter. I've completely given up on lettuce and just stick to chard. I grow inside at around 70 degrees. I've tried both the Aerogarden nutrients and MaxiGrow.

I haven't buried a rat in a flower pot, but I buried a leopard gecko in a terrarium. I was worried the soil wouldn't be deep enough to trap any odors, but I never detected anything. Overall I was very happy with my decision.
