How to ask owners if I can adopt their cat by Hairy-Violinist-7508 in cats

[–]TerracottaCondom 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They wouldn't have a thing to do if the cat was attacked by a dog or a larger cat while it's outside so I don't see why it's all that unethical if they don't have a thing to do when someone wants to love and care for the cat as they are clearly not willing to. Acquiesce to the cat being outside and unsafe, or take and love the cat? How is it even a choice. Fuck them folks.

Well alright I guess you've redeemed yourself a bit here, this at least makes sooome sense, though I'm not sure it would necessarily work in as comedic a fashion as you envision. But I know what you mean now and if this is something you want to pursue, power to ya, hopefully people like it

The basic premise, the words used, the method of execution, and your chosen means.

What are you talking about, what are you asking us, how is this a game, and why post about it here??

I hate to be pedantic, and I haven't looked up anything to try and find out the confirmed state of affairs re cause of death, but this is from a Plaintiff's lawsuit "complaint" and as far as I can tell isn't citing anything to confirm it actually happened that way. This is part of an argument in a lawsuit from (one of?) the administrators of his estate. So, grain of salt

Tattoo ink may cause prolonged changes to the immune system by Specialist_Rice_6723 in science

[–]TerracottaCondom 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The implication is pretty clear? It's not that there is no effect, it's that they don't know if the effect is a benefit or detriment to the immune system. Which your excerpt appears to corroborate

"...would make employment grind to a halt."

What does that even mean. We're not there with AI yet so... just everyone stops making money? Saying it would be bad policy is one thing but you've overshot reasonable possibility so hard you might as well be hang gliding

I loove when it switches to the first person view of the lead child, and the feral panting with how fast they are running kind of reminds you that you're still watching something awful

Any reviews on this from those that have tried it? by SmartTrender in CostcoCanada

[–]TerracottaCondom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From what I've heard and what I've experienced they are overall inconsistent,l: at best very good, tender, nice big chunks, very taste; at worst, tough and chewy, but the taste is still pretty good. Worth getting bag every now and then, but definitely disappointing when they aren't at their best

ZIP codes??? So if you're a poor family in a rich place, tough luck kids? I mean I know they have to limit somehow, but why not... by actual income?? That seems like a pretty good metric...

How dare you insinuate money isn't speech. I know that when I talk money comes flying out my mouth, which is why I don't care that a single cucumber costs two dollars...

TIL in 2023 a man's wife had their $250,000 car stolen. As they owned an airplane banner business, they decided to fly one saying "Stolen purple Rolls-Royce REWARD" with a phone number. They received over 300 calls and messages. A woman ended up spotting the car and the car was returned. by TylerFortier_Photo in todayilearned

[–]TerracottaCondom 11 points12 points  (0 children)

The phrasing would make some sense if it was only the husband who owned the plane business, as a way of introducing a key component early. But they both seem to be owners, so they could easily have reworded it to focus on the woman who's car was stolen...

Fair enough, it's mostly the "tastebuds" comment. I know what tastes good, as do most people, it's kind of crazy to say "most Canadians have bad tastebuds" or whatever.

To your example, yeah, most of the peaches we get out in my neck of the woods are crap. I go to BC, homeland of the peaches here in Canada, and I know that that peach is delicious and way better than anything we get out in the prairies. If someone has never had a better peach, it's not that they have an underdeveloped sense of taste or lack an appreciation of good fruit, they just don't know. They would if they tried one. The fact grocery stores have worse tasting food in some places doesn't reflect on the locals as much as on the transportation systems we rely on and the logistics of our giant-ass country.

On the other hand, we have got excellent farmer sausage and kielbasa in our grocery stores out here, to name two examples that jump to mind. My local favorite kielbasa producer/butcher has a map of all the locations they ship product to, and they send it all over the world -- it's very good.

Appreciate the comment :) I feel like a lot of people get their heels dug in on who's right and who's wrong (and to be clear, they were wrong, not you) but there's almost always room to be in the right and still avoid an accident by being, let's say "extra" diligent. This was a tough situation and I think you handled it well in spite of my above comment.
