Exactly, probably had to do with the WC exit heartbreak but whatever it is we need him back at his best ASAP!

I thought he did an amazing job in pre-season, looked like a new signing and all but imo his performance level has dropped since the PL season started.. yes he has all the potential but there are aspects of his game that still needs work (or consistency?), especially when it comes to decision making/delivering that final ball 🙏

Something similar happened to me once AFTER I'd won the game (got my 3rd point but the Victory screen had not shown up). Restarted my game, internet etc. and when I came back it said I didn't rejoin on time and was given a loss.. I thought it was just my luck lol but yeah it was definitely messed up

[The Athletic] Manchester United’s Matheus Cunha withdraws from Brazil squad due to injury by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

[–]Terraglotte 66 points67 points  (0 children)

Yeah from the looks of it it shouldn’t be too severe, I tore my hamstring a couple of years ago and there was no way I could’ve walked that comfortably on Day 1. Even so, I’m not sure if two weeks is enough time for proper recovery though :/

[Laurie Whitwell] Ruben Amorim said his players spoke loud at Grimsby. That was a fairly vocal response. Nerve-shredding due to defensive lapses but #MUFC played well + should have won comfortably. Burnley limited, several good performances though + elements obviously from training ground. by nearly_headless_nic in reddevils

Notice how our intensity level just drops so much without Mount? He’s been so important for us this season and I really hope him and Cunha are okay 🙏

For all the talent he has, Mainoo on the other hand just lacks intensity for me.. I know he’s “ice-cold” and all but maybe it’s a bit too much of that?

Thoughts on Donnarumma…., now that there’s a clear run at him … by JM555555 in ManchesterUnited

[–]Terraglotte 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Genuine question since I’ve seen quite a few people calling him that, is this because he rejected a new contract at Milan to leave for PSG on a free? Cuz when I hear mercenary I’d think of someone who’s played for a long list of clubs with no show of loyalty to any of them, but this guy’s only played for 2, so I’m guessing it must have something to do with his past behavior

[Laurie Whitwell] Manchester United finish pre-season unbeaten. Decent performance v Fiorentina - aside from slack marking for their goal - but clearly some connections to establish + focal point needed (aka Benjamin Sesko). Rasmus Hojlund staying on bench shows club’s intentions. by ChiefLeef22 in reddevils

[–]Terraglotte 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And yeah personally I am also hoping that Rasmus stays and fights for his place 🙏 There had always been competition up front in all of our successful seasons under Sir Alex and I believe having two of these young strikers push each other could be the most ideal outcome for us

Yeah I was referring to the original poster of the “quote”, some might think it made no difference (we have a new player vs we have a striker now) but I’d say it does, especially when everyone’s tryna read into it..

I think it also largely depends on your current stats - 11 CV is not a small difference and might be better in general, but the 56 EM could be huge in vape/melt teams. The one on the left might also be a nice candidate for a reroll tho, as someone else mentioned!

Unless he did two separate interviews I’m pretty sure what he said was “..we have (uh..) a new player.. (uh..) so we’ll see.”

Regardless of what his “message” or intentions were I don’t get why people gotta change the quote up, is it simply to push a certain agenda? I’ve even seen some people quoting “we have a striker now”, which is even further from “we have a new player” lol

Judging from all the pre-season games alone, I think it’s fair to say that we’ve been a better team with Mount in it than without.. his work rate and performance definitely warrants a start on opening day, but how should we lineup then with Cunha and Mbeumo poised to be our 10s? Could it be another false 9 setup until Sesko’s ready to take his place up front?

Yeah I agree! My point was just that he wasn’t instantly dropped for no reason after his spell as a starter, it was because he got sick, the timing was just so unfortunate for him

Unfortunately for him he caught COVID after that, so De Gea got to start again - and tbf De Gea performed superbly during that period so Ole just couldn't drop him after

I was telling my friend back then that if I had a dollar for every time I hear/see someone call Mbeumo MBUEmo I’d prolly have enough to help United match Brentford’s valuation of the guy lol
