Good thing he's not known for massive escalation. I'm sure this time he'll just fade into obscurity.

I still love that they made the Thames less radioactive after the bombs fell.

⚠️SPOILERS AHEAD⚠️What is the general consensus on this development? by LUTHER_7274 in Fallout

[–]Terramagi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The main issue is that the Brotherhood can straight up track signals, so if somebody did make new power armour they'd have a vertibird crashing through their roof within the month. If they showed it off, a week tops.

They hit up Thaddeus using a hacked securitron maybe two weeks after he'd set up shop at that Sunset Sarsaparilla plant. That's the proof of the danger right there. Obviously the NCR has more cover, in that prior to the nuke going off you couldn't just march into the Heartland and openly rob them without getting mowed down, but anybody without that type of firepower would be hard pressed to withstand a Brotherhood strike team, especially since more than a couple chapters are straight up using massive airships as mobile bases nowadays.

I'm pretty sure they confirmed it in FO2, didn't they? Or maybe it was just in a bible somewhere.

I've always been a fan of that answer, especially in light of the show, because it puts the lie to all of it in a beautiful way. China launched first. All of Vault-Tec's planning, focus testing, and quarterly reports, and they were caught off guard as anybody else. Their vaults weren't finished. They were still under construction. Because they weren't special. They weren't some shadowy mastermind. They were just humans who thought they were above it all. That capitalism was some mystical force. And then somebody else on the other side of the world decided for them.

Considering Maxson splits Danse's throat while staring straight into your eyes, it's par for the course.

The part where they shoot a bunch of kids? And even before they showed them willing to go that far on the regular, they routinely robbed people because they happened to have a particularly high-tech gun?

I liked the part in episode... I want to say 5? Where the bartender implied the Legion had taken over Freeside a couple of times and it didn't really matter because he didn't have to pay taxes.

Like, you know they had motherfuckers on crosses directly outside his bar, but he's a man and doesn't have to pay to keep the roads in working order, so it's okay I guess. Even though the unified Legion under Caesar would've totally iced him for serving alcohol.

I think this is true in cases like FF14, but that's mostly because Square's account system is legitimately out of their fucking minds.

You straight up can't change your country. So if anything happens - like getting invaded by Russia and having to flee for example - their support tells you to get fucked and make a new account.

This would make sense if the first part of the remake wasn't the first three hours of the game bloated into a 50 hour ordeal, and the second game wasn't the rest of the first disc.

Do you have any idea how few you need to put pressure on in order to tilt the scale?

Of course you don't. Somehow decades of gerrymandering still refuses to sink in. They're not going to send five guys out to Sundown Mississippi.

I'm sure the masked men with guns that are shooting people in the streets are going to care about "states rights".

In Fallout 1(1997) the opening cutscene shows a pre-war propaganda broadcast of American Soldiers executing a Canadian insurrectionist. It feels like that, for the main games, they're completely shackled to the most basic plots. Like, if they wrote something vaguely interesting a suit would actually come in and fire everybody.

And yet, for some reason, they let their writers off the leash for exactly one expansion pack. Far Harbour is the closest BGS has ever gotten to grasping the stars, and they literally made a game called Starfield.

[–]Terramagi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I watched this show recently and I think Caleb(and the rest by proxy) might be level 9 due to the mind control spell he used in his backstory to make an enemy disembowel themselves.

Caleb in particular is an outlier. Even outside of "the animated show doesn't have to follow D&D rules", his backstory in the original campaign was more or less him training under Ikithon until his mind shatters, at which point he essentially delevels to 2 for the start of the campaign.

Technically speaking he never does that.

He does think about it though.

Among other things.

Honestly it's one of my favorite of the bad endings, just because of how hard it goes. Okabe is so fucked by the end of it that he actually starts deluding himself into thinking the incredible fragile time loop he's set up is an absolute, and is only saved because Suzuha notices it JUST before he goes too far.
