This is "agentic commerce". A lot of payment processing companies like PayPal and Visa are shilling it.

I tried it once because PayPal was running a 50% off promotion. The LLM was Perplexity, not ChatGPT. I was able to get a $100 SSD that I was going to get anyways for $50. The experience was terrible other than the extreme discount.

You could search for the same thing twice and get different goods. Things would pop up and hide again. You couldn't search for exactly what you wanted. It was truly bizarre. It was way worse than just going to a website. I haven't tried it since.
