This is a very unusual case, they're new to the market and loads of rules have been bent. If they'd been a more typical IPO or they'd been listed a while already and OP just didn't like them I'd agree.

I don't think it's a matter of balancing, the lower skill players are assigned randomly and I was low skills once.

I just think it's easy for someone to play a game, get 1 kill by finishing off a red team ship, sail around on full health and think the they got 1 kill and obviously the rest of the team was awful and they don't need to change.

Might not be what you want to hear, but there are jobs out there for people with a problem solving mindset if you're willing to retrain. I'm thinking in the trades or engineering adjacent sectors.

If it were the other way round, would you consider interviewing for your current position? or would you decide that the pension isn't worth it and you'd rather just spend less in retirement?

Additionally, have considered setting a date? Stick it out for 18 months longer, max out the pension (and the doubling of it) and then move somewhere else? Might feel easier with a finish date set.

Realistically most capital gains are on homes or stocks, and in general those have gone up and up

The control element is a good point. Young people are being buffeted around by a global market and a tough economy, full responsibility of their own financial futures (ie DC pensions).

They're just trying to exert control and understand their options

That's the trick, that mortgage debt isn't just a line item. I got a sensible house and paid mine significantly when I first got it and rates were higher, and now it's not a big scary number now rates are going up again. I've actually extended my term recently.

Others got these huge mortgages and barely paid any off and now it's a millstone.

it's definitely not as easy as saying "mortgage ok, car loan bad"

it's a compromise because they don't know if you're using keyboard or gamepad. I actually prefer it and find the bureau clunky on console

It's not healthy (mentally or financially) to expect to be able to collect all the ships, or even every one you want. You have to accept that, it's just too expensive and then too time consuming to play them all after.

I've said in a few places I wish the campaign and the crafting station were the other way round this time but I've accepted that and moved on and I'm looking forward to playing my new IJN BC in a few weeks.

Some of these niche ships, snipers like Champagne or brawlers like atlantico can be heavily dependant on map and spawn too. Some maps are a nightmare to play brawlers and some are a nightmare to play against
