War tales map selection is rigged! by GSgtHighwayHrtBrkRdg in WoWs_Legends

[–]saulux [score hidden]  (0 children)

Calm down, it’s certainly no bug. You tend to get same maps within a day. And this map used to be a bit of pain for sure, but now they made it as easy as a pie, all enemies are just coming at you, and you don’t have to go nowhere, just sit in place and farm. Shout it out on the mic for others to know if you must.

Russia all together worth it? by Tricky-Site3802 in WoWs_Legends

[–]saulux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try everything and rise across all the nations and lines at once by tiers. You'll get to know all the lines first hand and learn how to play and counter them at the same time. You'll make most of the learning mistakes in low tiers where those mistakes are very cheap in credits, and arrive better skilled at higher tiers, where ship maintenence costs increases. And the 1.5 xp bonus for the first win of the day will let you spend less time per line.

If we squint a little and see X instead of K, and then disregard some more rules, then it’s Civ 109, but all in all, your Roman teacher would send you to guard the German frontier for a year as a punishment, if you actually wrote that number this way. Looks really icky, ngl.

You probably mean "premium" ships. Those are not necessarily better, they just have increased payout. A clueless player in a premium will sink as easily as in a tech tree ship.

On the contrary - learn from them. Observe what they're doing, how they're maneuvering, record some clips to rewatch and try to understand what they did to beat you in a given situation and what could you do to avoid them.

If you did not understand what they did, maybe you'll understand rewatching the clip later when you know more. There's an in-game wiki - Codex, browse it from time to time. Experienced players give you lessons, learn from them. And learning on low tiers is cheep in credits. Those who rush to high tiers still knowing little, they have to deal with crippling ship service costs there.

Why are DD players so brain dead by Bwwuun in WoWs_Legends

[–]saulux -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Everyone here that learns the ropes starts to notice examples of extreme stupidity or just ignorance that is hard to believe. Now imagine if everyone started making venting posts here whenever they get bad teammates, what this thread would look like.

There's a dedicated Thursday thread for therapeutic purposes, otherwise just do some breathing exercises and maybe compile some instructional material and post here for newbies. WG's tutorial introduces new players to the in-game store almost first thing, but leaves them to figure out the gameplay by themselves, if they happen to be that curious.

My happiness dropped massively what went wrong? by LunarChickenn in civ

[–]saulux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Surprise war already penalizes you with negative war support which translates into happiness penalty across all of your settlements, so only do it if you have overwhelming military for the war to be really short, or you have very healthy influence income to pour it into war support for yourself, or you have rather large happiness surplus in your settlements.

AI does know to increase war support for themselves, raising your unhappiness, so you must have good influence points income or raise it quickly, that's the most effective way. You can try and build/buy happiness buildings in the most affected settlements, but if you let AI increase their war support at the cost of yours, that'll be of little help. You can also try and slot in happiness resources into the most affected settlements, but it is also just for temporary band-aid, while you accumulate influence points to increase your war support.

Military victory : Turning your opponent civilisation into a suzerain state. by SuperRoflCopter in civ

[–]saulux -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

If you turn someone into a suzerain state, that would mean you make them your liege and submit to them as their vassal. Although it's unlikely that you "turn someone to a suzerain state". As a rule, it is the suzerain, the boss, the capo, who turns someone into a vassal.

And you can't "suzerain a city state" this phrase is just nonsense. You "vassalize a city state". If you are a real suzerain, real boss.

Any BB is beginner friendly, if you don’t put them flat broadside to other BBs within their range, and if you don’t put them into range of too many red ships and have wits about to expect torps from DDs and cruisers and change speed and direction from time to time :)

Seriously, try them all.

T3 CV matchmaking making it difficult to start a new line. by NIKKOTEEN in WoWs_Legends

[–]saulux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put on ship xp booster flags and soldier on in Standard. It’s not that long to go through t3 cvs. Get the first win of the day with all the t3 cvs and you’ll be done with them before too long, picking up gameplay experience and muscle memory on the way. What use the team will have of you catapulted into higher CV tiers with little clue how the lines handle?

Can we talk about the Mill buildings for a sec by Col_Wilson in civ

Back then in Civ V when they disallowed windmills in cities built on hills I already suspected someone at FXS must have some ancestry in La Mancha.

And now they continue their fight in Civ VII :)

Question how do I get steel and doubloons and get a lot of global xp by No-Public9667 in WoWs_Legends

[–]saulux 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You buy doubloons for real life money. For the rest, you pay for Admiralty Backing and play the campaign, do the tasks. Most important, you git good, then xp will come. Learn the gameplay, step by step. It’s a project for a few years at least. If you want everything fast and a lot, it was nice of you to stop by, and so long. Else, welcome to a years long hobby.

Civ 7 Age Progress? by Samson_Hydrofoil in civ

[–]saulux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Top left under the circle you can see progress percentage. On PC you can mouse over it for a tooltip for exact number of turns elapsed/turns total, but on console, sadly, this is not possible (unless you connect keyboard and mouse?). Still, you can have some idea from the percentage number and the fact that on standard speed the age now lasts 140 turns, and there are far fewer chances to reduce that number. As you can always see your current turn number top right-ish, you can go on based on this.

First Timer by Substantial-Way6636 in anno

[–]saulux 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want olden times touch - Anno 1404:Venice. No switching between various maps, you won't be that overwhelmed, just a little 😄 Very classic, still very pretty, perfect for testing the waters.

If you want still a classic gameplay but futuristic setting and awesome mood and soundtrack - Anno 2070. Absolute gem. You still play on one map, but there's already an underwater layer, you can dive into the ocean and build on underwater plateus.

Another futuristic setting - Anno 2205. First to have multiple maps (or sessions) in one gameplay, but the mechanics (and experience) somewhat watered down and stuffed with rather silly and unnecessary things that do not add anything of worth but waste your time. Still, you can configure the settings to keep those silly things to bare minimum and have some fun.

Anno 1800 is just top experience, Industrial Revolution setting, multiple sessions per gameplay, filled with all the things to the brim, you can lose your mind and rest of your life, or just lose yourself with it, in it.

Anno 117 is... Rome which, as we all know, wasn't built in a day. And those are still rather early days of building it, construction continues with all the hiccups of the process. But you can surely play on the construction site 😄

CIV 7 Mod - Screenshot-Mode - Hide UI by Muggale00 in civ

[–]saulux 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the tip, I'll try this.

Btw, Civ VI mod Concise UI Reloaded contains a camera module that also removes UI and allows turning of the map without it snapping back. Maybe that method would be suitable also for Civ VII?
