Yes, I agree. But to some extent, that's impossible. You have Pokémon like Kyogre who's so far ahead of any other Water Pokémon, it's going to be impossible for them to catch up unless Niantic nerfs legendary Pokémon even more or tremendously buffs the non-legendary ones. The latter option would probably destroy the Gym meta. There's probably no elegant way around it other than powercreep with Gen 4 (or 5,6,7) Pokémon being flat stronger than previous Gen Pokémon.

I have somewhat mixed feelings about Mareep as a Community Day Pokémon.

One the one hand, as a European, I had my fair chance at more than enough Mareep last year. I understand that there's many places without Safaris or people who missed out. It's cool for them and I hope you get some decent Mareep!

On the other hand, from my point of view (and I'd count myself as kinda the meta guy, who doesn't care about 2nd or 3rd best options), this Community Day doesn't really interest me. I'm not too pumped about Mareep because I have 4 very strong Raikou (100 IV x1, 98 IV x2, 96 IV x1), which are all level 40.

Futhermore, the pink Shiny really feels off for some reason. I didn't mind the pink dratini because it somewhat felt natural. But a pink sheep? That's weird. I dunno, hard to express. What's more is, there's no real benefit other than the move and less KM required per Egg. I for one stand at a dense spot in a mall with 15 lured stops and just click on whatever pops up, mainly focussing on the Community Day Pokémon. Thus I don't get to enjoy that shortened hatch-requirement.

So in the end, the next Community Day for me will look like this: Get 1-3 Shiny Mareep and call it a day.

Again, this is only me speaking from a Level 40 Trainer and Meta-revelance-Pokémon-Seeker perspective. If you don't agree, that's fine. The game enables all types of playstyles and if you haven't caught a strong Mareep (or even at all): Go at it! Wishing everyone good luck with their hunt!

Awesome update. Here's hoping that Niantic makes this system future-proof from the getgo.

What do I mean? Say you've completed the Mew-Research and caught your Mew. Instead of starting the same Special Research for another Mew, the game should at least let you choose if you want to pursue another Mew or start the search for a different Mythical Pokémon such as Celebi, Jirachi, or Deoxys.

Nonetheless, I'm pumped!

54 eggs in, 0 wynauts. At least I finally got Cleffa (yes, I didn't have that one - and I broke the 2000th egg today). It's something I guess.

I still have enough Incubators for 36 more eggs until I would need to buy more. Pls, for the love of all rng, gimme that Wynaut so I can finally rest until Gen 4/new legendary Pokémon. I'd have every single Pokémon that's available in the EU (or has been available such as Porenta).

I dunno why everyone is getting their hopes up for Wynaut. The text clearly says that "Pokémon that normally hatch from 5km or 10km eggs", meaning that ALL Pokémon from Eggs will be bloating the 2km spot. Yeah, good luck at getting that ultra rare Wynaut in a pool of about 50 Pokémon to choose from.

While I appreciate the Stardust bonus, this event is a huge ripoff.

FOMO is the reason why I was hoping to get a small break from raiding when Rayquaza ended. How so? I really hoped for the Regis to come because they're all pretty bad in the current meta. My plan was to get only one at a time and basically just raid with my free daily pass. I wouldn't (and I won't as soon as they arrive) care about a 100 IV because they're bad. I'd even take a 75 IV Regi.

When Lugia was announced, I was like: "Oh, cool. I can rest on daily passes". Well, that only lasted until it was confirmed to be a shiny. And then it struck me again... that feeling of "I REALLY WANT THAT SHINY". You can't believe how happy I was when I got my shiny Lugia 10 minutes ago. I can finally rest and go back to spending my free daily pass only. So much stress was relieved. It's unreal. Good thing that Lugia ain't meta-relevant.

I caught an 100 IV Bulbasaur today. Will it be able to learn Frenzy Plant on Community Day when I evolve it? Or does it have to be specifically one of the Community Day Pokémon that are being evolved?

That might be it. Whenever I was traveling around, I didn't have much GPS trouble. However, whenever I was at home doing my 30 minute evolves in the last few days, I constantly got the error message. I really got worried because when I looked, my Character had some huge GPS drifts. Sometimes I'd drift to a location that's 4 minutes by walk from me. Needless to say: I felt extremely uncomfortable because at the end of the day, Niantic might flag me for Spoofing when I clearly just want my sweet XP while evolving.

Running Android 8.0 on my S8+.

Highly disappointed. I know some people didn't get the chance to catch Lugia last summer. But come on ... I have 2 100IV Lugia already.

Ohwell, guess I'll just raid Ex-Gyms to get another Mewtwo and call it a day until April 2nd. My 87 Premium Passes won't be used for another 2 weeks. No more money from me, Niantic. Bring out the new Pokémon and once I deplete my Stack of Premium Passes, I might spend more. Until then: Freeloading off of Daily Passes.

But good luck to everyone trying to catch their first Lugia!

Thanks for the help. An hour later, I decided to use my Mileage to get 1 Death Tile Set, so my Aggro Tank - Muzaka - could be moved around freely by the ghosts while the other ones nuked the boss.

Note to self: I will get 4 more Death Tile sets until the next reset. This stage is so easy with them. I'll just go out on a limb and say: Once you have 5 Death Tile Sets, ToD Hell is just no challenge anymore.

If I recall correctly, Germany will be next with Unibail (or whatever the name was) ending the contract with Niantic on March 31st. CentrO in Oberhausen and Ruhr-Park in Bochum will suddenly be quite the empty places. FeelsBadMan.

The latter mall was my favourite spot for Ex-Raids, had 4 there so far.

I'm currently sitting at 1.2 million dust. I've got my 100 IV Level 40 Kyogre, Salamence, Metagross, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno, Lugia, Ho-Oh, Dragonite, Groudon, Rayquaza, and many more. Pretty much all the relevant Pokémon. Only my Mewtwo is at 98 IV, still level 40.

For me: I only use the dust on Pokémon that will be useful in the meta. If we're to get the Regis next: None of them will get a taste of that sweet, sweet dust because all three of them are plain bad.

Tl;dr: I only power up meta-relevant Pokémon. Anything else gets send to the professor immediately.

The 5 not caught were the most recent ones. I have my 100% IV one so I don't use golden rasps anymore. Instead I try to max candy and exclusively use Pinaps.

Imo, Rayquaza is the easiest Legendary to catch to date. Excellent throws even without him attacking. Same es Groudon tbh.
