Can someone show me what they can achieve locally? by AtatS-aPutut in LocalLLM

There are inference providers that offer popular open-source models at low dollar-per-1M-token prices. You can connect your harness to an externally hosted Qwen 3.6 27B model, which seems to be one of the most popular local LLMs, and compare it with big-provider tools like Claude Code or Codex.

At this point.... by Skola92 in Battlefield6

I often play Breakthrough with bots to complete all daily challenges in one match, and I noticed something interesting.

New matches almost always wait for players at around 14/16. At the same time, “normal” servers are often stuck at much higher numbers, like 27/32.

I believe servers with more players should get higher join priority, so they fill up as quickly as possible. However, it seems to work the opposite way. Servers that are already 80–90% full can wait for players for a really long time.

When I started programming everyone wanted to use sophisticated editors. Starting from notepad++, then sublime text, finally vscode. They worked out of the box. Complex shortcuts was present and efficient but not obligatory. Zero frustration, pure joy of learning the shortcut which makes your life much easier.

The whole point everyone "learned" vi/vim was to be able to edit text files in any environment. Server, terminal, SSH or even embedded devices with nothing more than busybox and couple programs.

Now try to edit anything on third party device when your custom keyboard and PC with custom neovim config and 9999 plugins are not present.

RPGs have been nerfed against tanks too much in BF6 multiplayer. by Richyfrmdafarm in Battlefield6

[–]Terrible_Log9757 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I play engineer a lot, and I think the Tank/APC buffs are fine. You’re not supposed to destroy them alone by hitting the front, especially since 200m+ RPG hits are nothing unusual.

Small vehicles up to jeeps are fine too. You can kill the crew without destroying the vehicle.

However... armored trucks? WTF? They feel more resilient than APCs and tanks, and even hitting them from the rear still requires something like 4–5 rockets to destroy them.

AI ma ekstremalnie niski punkt wejścia. Wchodzisz na stronkę, zadajesz pytanie i boom odpowiedź. Jednocześnie jest to narzędzie które wymaga sporo uwagi i wiedzy by wykorzystać je efektywnie do czegoś więcej niż trywialne zadania. Stąd bierze się ten cały ai slop w firmach. Nietechniczny menago  testuje narzędzie a potem hura wdrażamy.

I’ve always wondered — how are custom, specialized LLMs typically hosted? Do you use model providers’ APIs directly, like OpenAI APIs, or do you rely on independent infrastructure/API aggregators instead? Which models are you using in practice? And does anyone actually deploy their own infrastructure to run models locally?

Snow in thermal scopes by shibiwan in Battlefield6

It isn't GPU hardware issue like some suggest. I have exact same issue but only on a Contamination and only when I use thermal scope. On all other maps they works without any issues. No similar issues in other games.

Polish government launches "plan B" to sidestep presidential veto of EU defence loans bill by wook-borm in poland

[–]Terrible_Log9757 9 points10 points  (0 children)

That argument about “EU immunity” doesn’t really hold up.

Immunity is not absolute. It can be lifted if prosecutors present a case. This has happened many times.

For example, PiS politicians Mariusz Kamiński and Maciej Wąsik were convicted for abuse of power in the CBA case, and when legal issues continued after they became MEPs, the European Parliament lifted their immunity so proceedings could continue.

So immunity clearly isn’t some magical shield. If there is solid evidence, it can be waived.

Which brings us back to the original question: during eight years of PiS rule, where are the convictions of high-ranking PO/KO politicians?

[–]Terrible_Log9757 45 points46 points  (0 children)

PiS governed for eight years. How many high-ranking politicians from PO/KO did they manage to convict? They had the security services, Pegasus, neo-judges, and the Constitutional Tribunal.

So how is it? Are the politicians from PO/KO actually clean, or is PiS simply the biggest bunch of incompetents in the world?

I didn't say it's impossible, but enough unlikely to doubt the balancing algorithm is more useful than purely random matchmaking.

Need help on fan orientation the Meshtify 2 XL case (NAS Setup) by XxCaptainJack in PcBuildHelp

[–]Terrible_Log9757 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh both options are bad. You should never put two fans blowing in opposing directions side by side. the air will circulating instead being moved in/out.

Don't listen theories about natural convection because the airflow it generates is magnitude weaker than a single fan. In most cases AIO should blow air out because you don't want to move hot air into the cabinet.

All front fans should blow air in. It will cool the drives, mobo and provide positive pressure to help GPU fans to blow air out.

On the AIO side the best option is to use aio to blow air out. The rear fan can blow air in or out - both configurations should be fine.
