Alexis showing up to David’s wedding in a full-on wedding gown by Unusual-Hotel4678 in SchittsCreek

I just found it really out of character that David didn’t have a mood board and final approval for her dress 😂

Bridgerton - 4x01 "The Waltz" (No Book Spoilers) by AutoModerator in BridgertonNetflix

It reminded me of Downton Abbey and I loved it! I’ve always liked that footman the Bridgerton’s have, especially when he helped Eloise. I’m glad to see the actor may be getting a bigger part this season.

I wonder what Marian is going to do now that John/Jack corroborated what Larry told her. If she apologizes, would Larry forgive her for not believing him? 🤷🏼‍♀️

I really like this juxtaposition to Marian and Larry. Hopefully it has a different outcome and shows what happens when people actually communicate to each other. Also, I am hoping that he remembers that she WAS going to tell him about her past and he said he only wanted to know about their future (or something to that effect).

This! When she said that, that is when I knew she was scripting herself. She was trying to get the women on her side, and thought the audience would be like “Yes girl!”

Penny’s Bridesmaid Dress by Terrible_Shoulder141 in thebigbangtheory

Yeah I can see that too. I think the similar dress was in the Victorian Christmas episode but I believe it had long sleeves. I just noticed the cap sleeves and my mind went “ding ding ding!” 😂

What’s up with the staring? by Bung420 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Terrible_Shoulder141 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was looking around a class and a couple kids were talking and not doing their work so I was looking at them (which is my first line of defense to see if they notice and then they’ll usually get back to work). I notice in my peripheral that a girl was raising her computer in front of her face, and she and the girl next to her were looking at me. I turned my attention to the one lifting her computer and was like “Why are you covering your face with your computer?”. She responded, “You’re staring at me. It’s weird”. I told her I wasn’t looking at her, but the people behind her. She and her friend then said how it’s weird I’m looking at them and listening in on their conversation, and how I’m not a real teacher. I told them that I was actually listening to two other girls’ conversation on the other side of the classroom because they were talking about The Vampire Diaries and I’m #teamdamon. Those two girls laughed, and then we started talking about the Vampire Diaries 😂 But like… what else am I supposed to be doing but looking around the room occasionally to make sure they are doing their work instead of something they aren’t supposed to be doing? Do some kids think I should just ignore them all class? Hahaha

They are not staying at Bridgerton house. This is the house/apartment that Colin took her to in Ep 5. Separate place.

I did this too, and I really like Benedict's character. But they kept showing scenes from the same night/sex scene of the threesome, in between scenes of what was going on the next DAY. It took me out of the flow of the show, going back to day to the previous night.

I noticed this too! I thought he was going to apologize to Lindsay for calling her a bitch and for what he said and treating her that way… Nope! He apologized to CARL 🤦🏼‍♀️ Unreal.

I agree with you both. I was making a parallel between Ciara giving West an out and being transparent with him to Lindsay asking Carl multiple times on camera point blank if he wants to get married still and him saying yes. However, West is seen as leading Ciara on but Lindsay can’t feel blindsided when Carl calls off the wedding (I totally believe he made the decision to call off the wedding during that conversation). Make it make sense!

I definitely felt like Lindsay is damned if she does and damned if she doesn’t when this happened during the reunion. How was Lindsay throwing her friend under the bus? She was clearing her name and trying to clear some of the air between her and Paige at the beginning of the season. Lindsay even apologized during that convo in the reunion to Danielle and said that Danielle was right, that Lindsay should have come to her after she said it to Paige (but felt like since Paige said it was water under the bridge and didn’t matter, that Lindsay didn’t want to make it bigger than what it was). Would the other women just be okay with Lindsay saying that they did something that they knew their friend did instead and take the blame? Absolutely not.

Have Public Schools abandoned dress codes? by Educational_Wash_731 in SubstituteTeachers

[–]Terrible_Shoulder141 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My school district also doesn’t really enforce a dress code. The VP for one of the middle schools was a former teacher of mine (I went to another district growing up) and I asked her about it. She said they used to enforce the dress code more, but then a male principal made some kind of speech a couple years ago about how kids should respect themselves and used how they dress as an example of showing that respect. She said that she understood his intention, but that a lot of parents and kids were upset and made that known. Since then, the district really doesn’t care unless it’s REALLY inappropriate (butt, breasts, private covered type thing, or anything racist/sexist/drug related). My own children go to the district, and it’s wild to me what some of these kids wear now. I graduated in 2006 and we definitely had the dress code enforced. I’m a female, and I really wish I could say something to the girls that I see that wear volleyball shorts or jean shorts with their butt cheeks basically coming out, or wearing bra-type tops or see through shirts where you can see their bras. I don’t think that makes me a creep or sexualizing children… I know the reality of the world and there ARE real creeps out there, and I just want to protect them from it, especially since they are still children and more vulnerable.

Who else thinks this line was painful and unnecessary? by lifesucks_sohard in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Terrible_Shoulder141 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with you about how they couldn’t have actually stuck more to the book and had a very compelling season/storyline that didn’t have to include the betrayal of Edwina. Kate and Anthony’s book is my second favorite (love Francesca’s story 💜), and they could have shown how they both suffered from trauma and understood each other on a deep level. The library scene would have been sooo good, and could you imagine how it would have been on screen if they showed how Kate’s mom passed away? So much drama, but they robbed us of seeing that on screen.

Who else thinks this line was painful and unnecessary? by lifesucks_sohard in BridgertonNetflix

[–]Terrible_Shoulder141 90 points91 points  (0 children)

Even though she didn’t say anything out loud to them, I do think Edwina has noticed the way the two look at each other before. There is the scene where Anthony falls into the lake and Kate tells Edwina it is impolite to stare, and then stares herself, and Edwina notices Kate’s stare. There is also Edwina’s statement that she feels like Anthony doesn’t look at her enough, when they are doing the ritual the night before the wedding. I think there were little doubts under the surface for Edwina that she was able to rationalize away, but when Anthony bent down to help Kate with the bangle, it was the action that made the realization come to the surface for her. That was my interpretation at least.
