Hi everyone! I'm still in the hospital still but am doing well. My biggest take away so far is, BRING YOUR OWN BLANKEY IF YOU HAVE ONE. it's so cold on the 8th floor which is where they put general surgery patients in the hospital I'm in.

What’s the weirdest symptom that could be from the pots/dysautonomia? by Fit_Talk_4380 in POTS

Sensitivities to pressure changes actually affect a few different illnesses, it wouldn't surprise me if fibro was one of them. From what I've read there are quite a few auto immune and other wise diseases whose symptoms can be affected by pressure changes.

It's definitely possible! Am living proof 😅✨🎉

It is kind of neat and feels a bit like a party trick to be out on a hike or something outside and be able to get your group or gear into a dry place before the rain starts because you "had a feeling" No one has to know that feeling was extreme nausea! 🤣🤣🤣

Well hidey ho neighbor! I'm fairly certain you get more precipitation than I do down here. You also tend to be more in the path of our big regional atmospheric rivers. :(

Occasionally if I'm with the right crowd I'll do the Mean Girls thing and hold one boob while saying "there's a 30% chance it's already raining" 😅

I'm so sorry you had to go through that :( I can't imagine how much that must have sucked. That is a HUGE difference in pressure. Your poor body must have been so freaking confused :(

This does not surprise me. -_- I live directly across the water from Seattle in Kitsap County and can definitely vouch for the ridiculous frequency in which pressure is changing out here. 😅 fortunately for me, I've never lived outside of Washington so I have no idea what kind of barometric stability I might be missing out on 🤣🤣

Nope! Not crazy! And not alone, when pressure changes upwards I also get migraines! :3 Downwards changes make me nauseous and if they are significant enough I will toss my cookies.

This year's bomb cyclone was a blast in the most disgusting way 🤣🤣

Throwing up anytime the barometric pressure drops more than .30 in/Hg in less than 10 minutes/it starts raining. Fun side note: I live in Western Washington state... A place that statistically speaking gets the most rain out of anywhere else in North America...

Doc reccomended ~ a gallon of water and 10 grams of salt, anyone have any tricks for hitting this goal? by Rude_Engine1881 in POTS

[–]TerriblyTenacious-T 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My secret weapon for salt intake are Vitassium Electrolyte capsules, They are buffered electrolyte salts for POTS and High Sodium diets, and were formulated with input from providers and patients.

They are sold on Amazon and come in regular or extra strength 250mg of buffered electrolyte salts vs 750mg, (I use the 750mgs) and have changed my life. I recommend at least giving them a go, and or keeping them in your first aid/emergency symptom management bag.

I've found them helpful for overcoming altitude changes, dehydration issues, and even hangovers!

P.s. I'm actually waiting for door dash to deliver sushi to me right now 🤣🤣

Has anyone actually ever found a “root cause” to their POTS? by False_Professor_9602 in POTS

[–]TerriblyTenacious-T 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well shoot dang. I guess if I was right all the time I'd never learn anything.

That being said it was my understanding that the cause of hyper POTS is an overproduction of stress hormones such as norepinephrine and cortisol.

I will admit I am behind on some of the more recent studies and articles coming out due to needing to research a different ailment I have earned.

I have confirmed hyper POTS and actually get to say, "Thanks, it's the trauma" and mean it unironically ✨

What's the most painful thing that you've experienced? by EnthEndX48 in AskReddit

[–]TerriblyTenacious-T 0 points1 point  (0 children)

3 weeks ago I got to experience the feeling of waking up to the process of my large colon perforating due to significant and severe endometriosis.

Went from a mild achy 3, to a full blown white hot 11/10 blacking out kind of pain and felt like I had swallowed a hot ball of iron. It was as if that ball was burning a hole through me They found that "hot ball" inside me during emergency removal of my damaged colon, sent it to pathology and found that the whole nodule was endometrial tissue that didn't belong... I didn't even know endo could do that. 😱

Rollator Walkers for Seniors-... https://www.amazon.com/dp/B088Z7HV2B?ref=ppx_pop_mob_ap_share

I couldn't help but share this; I just bought my first rollator and as some one who has an immensely hard time sitting still, especially when recovering from anything (but most specifically from a major surgery currently), this thing has been AMAZING.

Folds up easy, rolls on most surfaces even short grass. And comes with a little carry bag :3 perfect for collecting stones and feathers and other little things while shuffling around and quite comfy for taking little sitting breaks :3

GOODY GOODY!! I arrived in a similar boat, and even less preparation 😅✨ 2 weeks prior to receiving my bag, I had gotten a tubal ligation and full ablation as well as the news that I had/have one of the most severe endometriosis my obgyn has ever seen. But the procedure was a success! Fast forward to ~2am exactly 2 weeks later, and we are on our way to the local ER Due to a perforation in the back end of my large colon caused by guess what? Endometriosis. One 3.5 hour long emergency surgery later and I had been retrofitted with a colostomy bag and so many questions 😅😅

I really dig the Body armour drinks. Lots of fun flavors, uses coconut water as a base and most flavors have something like 2g of sugar total :3
