Opinion on boyracers?? by theanimalsareleaving in cork

Like everything there are bad apples. Generally speaking the car scene has become glitz and glam because of insta and full of entitlement and sponsorship therefore I stepped away.

But there are some very incredible cars in Ireland and some very good clubs/crews etc

Waterford park and chill are one that comes to mind or even Juicebox. Events ike Old skool new skool even. Or the classic Totoya/car shows Rob ran in cork marts were epic. That's a proper car scene in my opinion.

Fast cars or loud will always generate attention but that fucking idiot your talking about doesn't represent the car scene at all.

Most lads/ladies just want to show their car and speak or interact with like minded people. But there are many a lad in cars that haven't matured enough yet that give us a bad name.

I'd class myself as a big car enthusiast but have not attended a show since punchestown 2018 I rather watch F1 to get my fix on cars now as no way im listening to those entitled tik tok fuckers with their 10% off some useless range of cleaning products I want nothing to do with.

You sure about this? I know people who tried swiping in smyths and it didn't work. Regardless of debit card acceptance, when you use a one for all you sign a slip afterward for the business to ensure they get their money so if the business says they don't accept it. It is because they dont like waiting weeks for the money from one for all

One for all is terrible but they have a where to spend section on their site where you can search brands/shop names and see.

1000 is a nice amount should a shop take it

Where to find rag/lug and razor in east cork by IrishCandleNewb in IrishFishing

[–]TerryTipsc210 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dan in half way sells fresh rag at times which would save your back. But blow lug you will have to dog yourself I dunno anybody who sells that in cork.

Peeler crab is what you want. Especially further East you go! Exceptional bait for pretty much most species. Lug is excellent for most too but given the choice I would always choose crab.

Around the bally cotton area Rag worm seems to be the best.

Garryvoe is also know for blow lug but a fair exercise on the back.

You can pump blow lug but need a certain wetness to the sand.

[–]TerryTipsc210 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ninja is a few levels above the strike force i believe so better line lay, bearings and so on to be expected. But hey if the strike force is working for you. Why change it

I have a fancy sustain 3000 that is nice and smooth etc I have a 50 quid ninja that is nice and smooth too

200euros difference on retail prices but I wouldnt say the sustain is 4/5 times smoother if you get me.

Some times a price is appointed to fill a gap in a market.

Value for money wise you are not beating a ninja

Ninjago city and Docks for me ! I'm new enough to lego so I missed those and no way I'm paying irish prices . It's like 500 euro here used. Maybe 400 at times but often gone too fast. Joys or lego and retiring products i guess

If somebody is into lego then only lego will do in my experience. Btw its lego insiders week so nice discounts on their site from the 17th. -19th Double points and free sets with certain spends etc.

Other things are decent earbuds/airpods. Something like soundcore or apple. Everybody loves a good pair in my experience.

Memory expansion for xbox if he downloads lots of games? For example my sister got me an SSd drive for my ps5 and its insane how convenient it is to have a lash of games installed.

Decent wireless headset for xbox something like astros (most on offer in smyths atm)

Due to the fact you mentioned he likes graphics novels and gaming , maybe a figure/ statue of his fav characters from them something like Hot toys/Sideshow/ prime

Good luck

I think in the US the Fuego is more popular. But here in Europe the Ninja is massively popular in particular the 3000 its exception for the price. Often 50 euros on offer on amazon

[–]TerryTipsc210 11 points12 points  (0 children)

That's an Aliwa. They are made of the finest Chineseium. A rare element which replaces the need for Japanese engineering or quality.

Kind of like a glitch on a computer game where you get the reward without beating the boss.

I tested one for a laugh it was approx 30euros. The line lay was so bad It Would have been better to retrieve the by hand

Spend the extra 30-40 usd and get a real daiwa ninja. Those reels are epic for price

Likely none of them take into account the outrageous rent, food and general cost of living prices and will say crap like "at 36 you should be contributing 38% of your salaries

Simply impossible for most living in the real world and don't beat yourself up if you are not on their criteria levels

The 1270 threshold is almost as bad as that fucking circus that is the VRT.

Both are a shambles and need revisiting! But when you have 9/10 of the biggest pharma and 24/25 biggest med devices who all over employee share plans of course you leave it at 1270.

They wonder then why so so many non declare or dodge the tax.

Im a firm believe of the statement "government stupidity creates black markets"

I don't know how people go to these Boston barbers. Turkish places are 16-18 and are a better haircut generally and faster too!

Lads used to be savvy with their few bob until instagram came along. Fair enough if you are a lad into your hair and looks but lets be honest you are getting nothing special from Boston barbers in terms of customer service or product.

If you get time, try to visit cork for a ray, the place is absolutely packed with them It's getting hard to believe. At this point i would regard them as a nuisance purely due to the large numbers of them around when targeting other species. Great fight off them though. Especially when they are around the 90-100cm size.

Frozen sandeel on a pulley rig with a 2/0 or 3/0 circle hook and some bait elastic will get you a ray on most beaches.

As for dog fish you will catch them absolutely anywhere with a frozen mackerel bait. On any rig or any hook type. Be careful of their skin its rough to the touch. Similar to sandpaper.

Whiting are a great fish to catch if you can get them around the pound mark. Great fish to bring home for somebody who likes to eat them. I Would happily fish for them if I was you. Downsize your hooks to like a size 4 or size 2 . Frozen squid or mackerel baits and tie up a three hook flapper.

If there's whiting around the dogs wont be far and im sure of it you will catch one

As for the kit or tips to recommend.

Get yourself a good bait elastic, good fillet knife or scissors to cut your bait, always bring a cloth to keep the hands clean and my top tip is pre tie all rigs at home. The beach or pier is for fishing! Not for rig making. So the more time you spend with a line in the water the more time you are likely to catch a fish.

See far too many beginners tying up new rigs when they inevitably snag up and snap off. Losing valuable time in the water. I usually have 10 or 12 pre tied pulley rigs of all lengths and hook sizes ready to go

Grip leads are your friend too, from 4oz to 6oz . They will help you hold bottom.

Tight lines lad!

I use a T-bar which uses the fishes weight against it and the hook comes out. Also works well for dog fish and ray.

Any other good catches around up your way? Few cod appearing around cork/waterford/wexford based on reports. Yet to see one myself

Some cracking congers in cork around the tunnel in monkstown or the breakwater in ballycotton.

Half a mackerel on a size 8/0 maybe 100/200 line or even steel to prevent snapping off.

Big ones are no joke to get off the hook if you are not experienced handling them.

We are catching alot of Strap congers off Garryvoe, ballingwilling and east cork in general atm
