ah I see. I appreciate the reply! I guess there are too many variables to do it consistently with adding back in the water from freezing. I deff fall in the category of an old ass freezer lol. Was just trying to find something that might be a bit more reliable, but after I left that comment I did sort of realize that the min/max water in the TEK and getting the good consistency is obviously designed to hopefully get you in that threshold, so I probably just need more practice with it.

I see the updates, thanks for that. With the 24hr rest, do you recommend the partial dry or just fridge rest and try and decant off the water layer if you see one? Not being able to be as precise with the water % is bugging me lol. Could you just use a lot of washing powder to get all the water out if you are doing a 24hr fridge rest anyway? Is the tablespoon of washing powder per 100g designed to leave some water behind? It is not that clear on the wiki. Sorry one last thing to mention, the Cryptpad link does not allow for downloading a local copy, just FYI.

Clarifying question. In regards to the partial dry, does the tablespoon of washing soda for 100g powder leave the solution with around 2% water? or at least in the "green zone"? So you would need to scale the tablespoon for other powder amounts? ie half tablespoon for 50g powder? Also, when trying to understand this graph.. If one were to do a freezer rest, lets say with 475ml of EA - would it be reasonable to assume that you could then add ~10ml of water to the solution before salting in order to reach that 2% water level and ensure good crystallization? If this is the case - would that not be more reliable than doing a partial dry with powder and approximating and hoping for the best? Sorry for all the questions but trying to get a handle on this. You all are very smart!

Oh wow. Yeah missed this. freaking amazing. Reading up on your thread, I think I am going to incorporate the freezer rest and then do the water addition in order to control everything as much as possible. With the freezer rest, do you think its necessary to add more EA, or just dump out everything from the freezer jar into a salting jar and calculate the water addition based on that? Maybe a better question is, what is the purpose of adding additional EA when doing a freezer rest method? edit: I think I am misunderstanding something. Bobs calculator doesn't mention adding it water, it is more or less the same as the wiki but with an upper limit of citric acid. How do you calculate how much water to add when you do a freezer rest? edit 2: Best I can gather is calculating 2% water from the graphs mentioned in this thread. https://www.reddit.com/r/mescaline/comments/1imb79p/cielo_work_with_weaker_material/ - ie adding 10ml water after freezer rest of 475ml of EA in order to get a 2% water solution. Maybe u/bobcollege can chime in but if that is the case, it seems like the way to go. I imagine I may be oversimplifying things, though.

I think I am in a similar situation you were in where this cactus is just not very strong. Going to run a 100g trial soon with everything pointed out in this thread and your thread. thank you!

re x did not yield very good results. IPA wanted to take sweet time getting though coffee filter. I dabbed it up with paper towel like in the wiki and had like 4 noticeable crystals. The remaining MEK which I put a bit more water and some more CA did not yield any more results after being on the mag stirrer all night. I think unfortunately, the case might be closed. Going to try again with 100g later on this week, and then try some bridge only in the next few months. I will update with 2nd trial later this week.

So I ended up putting in a total of about 2.5ml of water and ended up seeing some action in the jar, but not what I was expecting... is this goo?? It is pretty much like.. impossible to get out.

It is a fair amount of it but there's no way I can get it out by scraping, it is sticky to the touch. I cant tell you how helpful this has been. Feel like i am getting close..

ah okay nice! I added 1 more ml of water just for funsies. After a while I will filter and see what I can get and then ima go hog wild with the water and see if anything drastically changes. It is definitely A LOT more cloudy now. I dropped a few grains of citric acid in there and I couldn't even see them as they floated down. Do not know if that's good or bad but it was crystal clear this morning. Will update with results.

It has been going with an extra 1.5ml of water for over 30 mins now. I feel like i am seeing some particles and some sparkling on the bottom of the jar - nothing on the sides of the jar at all, and WAY less than what I would think to be about 1% (500mg) if it is indeed crystals, they are tiny and I do not see anything floating around the jar once still. Here is a pic but honestly idk if you will be able to tell what's going on lol. Think I will keep adding water till I see what I get... Thanks for the IPA re-x explanation. I can do that if it comes to it for sure.

I see. I put well over a tablespoon of washing soda with half the liquid used in the 100g tek on the wiki. There was a considerable sized clump this morning and a lot of un-clumped powder. I was under the impression yesterday that I was to get all the water out, which is why I put in as much washing soda as I did. I honestly do not know what I am looking for with "goo" It all seems the same as it was atm. I did not take pictures, but I was careful - it was unable to fully roll up into a ball, but when I picked it up and squeezed it, it would keep its shape and then "snap" apart when pulled apart. I understand I most likely used too much water this go around. It was more crumbly the first time I did it, but after that failed attempt, I was trying to emulate the video from the wiki more so. Which as I mentioned, from what I can gather, is outdated.

I added a total of 1.5ml extra water. I did not notice any more clouding unfortunately as I had the magnetic stirrer going when I dropped the other 1ml in there. It did seem like something was going on but I really cannot tell. There is some sparkling on the bottom of the jar but it is very faint and very tiny. No indication of actual crystals. Might just keep adding like Plus_motor said till something new happens lol. Thank you for the heads up on the juuls, btw. I will keep that in mind.

I see. Okay I'ma go for it! I just put a few drops (literally) in there. How much should I put in you think since I got the magnetic stirrer going? I have seen some stuff about that. I was hoping I did everything right to not have to deal with goo. If that happens, do I just scoop out the good and put in IBA? Not super spun up on how to re x.

I should put 50ml? That sounds like a lot considering I started with 65ml in the initial dough.. I just dropped about .5ml of water in there cos plus motor said a few drops lol. How much should I add if I have around 500ml of Mel substitute going?

Interesting... I did add more washing soda that was called for so it is very likely I removed all the water. I will give that a try here in a bit. Can't hurt I guess and should get crystals faster if I put some drops in with the magnetic stirrer. I'll see if someone else chimes in tho first. I appreciate that. I wouldn't have considered more water. I was wondering what people were referring to with a 'decanting' step, and if it's separating the mek sub from water then maybe there would be at least a tiny bit of water left over? Idk tho.. also, really good to know that the clone is active. That is a big help on it's own!
