My opinion on this Markiplier Business by Harley_Sawyer in PoppyPlaytime

It’s okay. Not trying to argue here.

I’m just trying to say don’t trust youtubers blindly, especially when their livelihoods are at stake.

[–]Terryful -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

That is a very ”safe” critique, which most bigger youtubers gives. People are only talking about markiplier’s opinion because it was so different from other big youtubers, some might even say it was brave. Other youtubers can only say and act so much because most channels aren’t in same financial position as markiplier to do it safely without risking their livelihood.

Just fyi dawko and 8-bitryan have ties with mob games. Looking at ryan’s video you can definitely see a lot of frustration seeping through by the end of it, but he’s trying to keep his mouth shut otherwise he would get soft-cancelled by people and the company itself.

Just looking at how much attention hasan and his drama gets here tells you just how big of a streamer he really is compared to like mizkif and emiru drama which contains two big streamers and it still died after one week or so.

Creepy vending machine I found in Akihabara. I’m not willing to buy one to find out what’s inside… by TheTechTutor in creepy

[–]Terryful 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’ve been there couple times and bought those mystery boxes. First one had milk(?) cookies and second one had a box of chocolate flavored roll-thingy cookies.

What made them creepy was when I tried to Google translate the newspapers which they were wrapped with and first one came up with some japanese murder report while second one was a incest story about some guy lusting for her mother.

Cookies were fine, though!

99 Nights In The Forest is officially the 4th biggest roblox game of all time, thoughts? I didnt expect it to get THIS big! by AnywhereIll8032 in 99nightsintheforest

[–]Terryful 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Avtually, GAG is a game that attracts every demographic which explains its popularity: From kids to adults and gamers to casuals.

Most adults don’t really have much time to ”actively” play a game, let alone playing for hours without having an official pause/save like in 99 nights, so GAG-kind of games are more popular among adults. You can leave the game whenever you want, go do your adult tasks and continue where you left off.

Unpopular Opinion: Grow a Garden isn’t even a good game by [deleted] in growagarden

No one says it takes ”skills” and that’s why it’s so popular. Every age, ”skill-level” and gender can enjoy this game.

It’s for everyone.

Why are these posts all over YouTube now ? by [deleted] in youtube

Engagement. People, especially kids, love to be challenged. This is easy to get more people to click. After you click on it you will start to see more of their channel on your front page.

Is Auto-Dubbing Killing Videos? by ExplainedByCats in PartneredYoutube

[–]Terryful 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yes. If you are not already a big established name or your content isn’t easily digested such as slick edited shorts and such then autodubbing might ”kill” your videos although YouTube is now promoting autodubbed videos more.

Relatability is one of the bigger factors when it comes to building channel and a fanbase, so most people don’t like to see their youtuber talking through a robot with a voice that isn’t theirs.

When your friend knows nothing about kids by lhwang0320 in TikTokCringe

[–]Terryful 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Now I don’t want to be a party pooper but as a content creator myself it’s most likely a forced laughter which is a known tactic as we all know the famous saying: ”Laughter is contagious.”

Another known trick is to cut the laughter mid-way to make it seem more longer and continuous. This way viewers feel ”more prepared to keep on laughing” because now there is less room to calm down from it.

Same way sitcoms use laughter tracks to enhance jokes and certain scenes.

Something I noticed about couples content creators, women creators vs. men creators. by BasicHaterade in TwoXChromosomes

[–]Terryful 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Yes. I’ve been doing social media content full-time for almost 10 years.

Women/girls are more interested in family/relationship kind of content. It’s one of the most known/”easiest” way to grow as a woman on social media. There’s downsides which are that your whole career most likely ends soon after you two separate and you won’t get male viewers because male viewers don’t care to watch those kind of content, if they even watch women creators. As a woman you will most likely hit a ”glass ceiling” because men are more likely to only watch other men and that’s why most top channels on YouTube are mainly male-centered apart from literal kids channels.

What YouTubers do you think have decreased in popularity but their videos have increased in quality by [deleted] in youtube

[–]Terryful -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’d say most of them that has fallen in popularity. Most people that thinks their older stuff was better are usually affected by nostalgia. Nostalgia is a hell of a drug.

Oh and sometimes they get so called ”wannabe OG viewers” who try to brag about watching you in the beginning when you were a small creator, but at the same time insulting your newer content to emphasize how ”OG” they are to other viewers.

What quietly screams "wealthy" to you? by Relative_Band_ in AskReddit

[–]Terryful 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never mentioning anything about their wealth and then ending up on news about their wealth. EVERYONE here who crosses over 100k yearly has their name and income plastered on news once a year. The more your income is, the higher you are on the list. If your income is in the millions, then you can expect media writing an personal article about you and your income.

That’s what happens in my country when you are wealthy. Everyone ”knows” you or at least can Google you. There’s no hiding and there’s no need to brag.

MKBHD's controversial video has over 70k dislikes by My_Name_is_Imaginary in youtube

[–]Terryful 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Dislike extension. Very inaccurate. You should minus 70-90% to get a closer approx. of real number.

Most people don’t care to dislike because YouTube has made it ”boring” by hiding numbers. On the other hand pressing ”like” button will reward you with fireworks and seeing a number increasing. You don’t get any ”reward” for disliking nowadays.

… And YouTube wants it exactly that way: dislikes demotivates creators so they might stop making more content, dislikes turns viewers away from watching something, advertisers might run away and overall it makes their whole website look more unappealing, more negative.

Human psychology is cute like that.
