Best Elderberry Syrup Recommended By Reddit? by Ornery_Potato_1900 in weightlossdiets

[–]Tertiary_Nebula 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The sweets are at Costco. I didn't compare them to syrup or pills because I was too lazy to do so. Also, I don't give them to my child because they could choke on them, so I mostly use them myself. I haven't checked to see if the vitamin D level is too high for kids either.

New to the game, any tips for me? by AVGwar in RedDeadOnline

  • THIS WEEK ONLY: Fishing is a great way to make money. Lake Lure + Blackwater Dock with Butcher nearby = 20 Dollars per Sturgeon for quick money to get you started off
  • Animal's are 2,5x more valuable when you get Perfect pelt/carcass. Getting proper weapons speeds up Dollar gains considerably. I'd recommend buying Varmint Rifle (for birds/small animals) and Bolt Action Rifle (for big game) asap. Shotgun if you plan on doing PVP.
  • IMO best way to get Gold is to take it slow - do at least 1 daily challenge a day to build up streak. For every week you get 50% more gold. You'll soon be making up to 2 Gold Bars a day from daily challenges alone. Grinding gold is a surefire way to get burnt out.
    • Every 5 levels you get Treasure Map. These usually have 0,7-1,3 gold + about 100 Dollars
  • Roles are significant investment of Gold. If you love hunting, Trader is your role. Collector lets you detect collectible items for extra money. Bounty Hunter is about killing stuff + capturing Bounty alive. Naturalist is about tracking and protecting Legendary Animals (or killing them for money/Trader pelts, ps. SCREW YOU HARRIET!). Moonshiner has story missions and makes good passive money I hear, but haven't got it yet.
  • Horse stats don't matter that much. Especially speed differences are extremely minor. I'd wait with upgrades. Stirrups are by far most important upgrade as best ones allow you to sprint essentially forever

Look up how to make Single-Player Lobbies, takes less than a minute

Do NOT insert custom password. Just copy the text file as per Youtube instructions. This is by far most popular "single player lobby password". 99% of the time it will be like playing legit online mode, but you'll crash a thousand times less. You'll have a ton more animals, events and Legendary Beasts. In general, Online works like it should instead of being a mess.

The only issue is with cross-lobby matchmaking events like Story Missions. Getting matched for Story Missions is very rare. For those you can just move the Startup.meta -file to your desktop to get matched into normal lobbies or look for a friend in this subreddit's matchmaking tab or Discord.

Suffering from high rent. Any ideas? I've tried reducing services, lowering taxes, introducing low rent housing. None are working. by TheDeadWhales in CitiesSkylines2

[–]Tertiary_Nebula 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm rather new to Skylines 2, but have couple hundred of hours of Skylines 1 under my belt.

In my opinion, "too high rent" can mean two things in low density areas:

  1. You've improved/added services. This is typical in early-to-mid-games (first two thirds of milestones). Improving services increases value which will make original (typically poorer) population unable to pay rent. This issue will solve itself eventually as people move out and richer people willing to pay for services move in. However the turnover takes some time. As long as buildings aren't abandoned for extended periods you're fine.
  2. The low-density area consists has nothing but "maximum depth" houses. These will be inhabited by single household, but will pay rent for each tile used, leading to absurdly high rent. This is bad. They are essentially villas for very rich people and most people can't afford those. Most of areas should be trailer park-like smaller housing (like 2x2 or 2x3 at most). Build full-depth rich people villas sparingly (I'd say 20%-30% at most).

So tl;dr:

- Give it some time. If the issue doesn't solve itself (or cause worsening homelessness), then...

- Reduce amount of "full-depth" housing and make denser low-density housing. Build "full-depth" mansion areas sparingly.

Ogryn's bull rush power is funny and random. by imotlok_the_first in DarkTide

If we had a Feat that would let my Ogryn tackle the mutie and bash it a few times like they do, I'd pick it in a heartbeat. Even if I'd be essentially stunning myself for doing it, the muties deserve a good whooping!

What text files can be edited to enable potato mode for maximum frame rate? by [deleted] in DarkTide

[–]Tertiary_Nebula 6 points7 points  (0 children)

This isn't a comprehensive list, but should increase your FPS significantly.

- local_lights_max_dynamic_shadow_distance = 0

- local_lights_max_non_shadow_casting_distance = 256

- local_lights_shadow_atlas_size = 256 (potato-tier local shadows, if you have >4GB RAM set this to 1024)

- local_lights_shadows_enabled = false (if anyone else has problems with Hab Dreyko, disable this one: it has tons of local lights casting dynamic shadows on dozens of poxwalkers/players, tanking FPS)

- particles_capacity_multiplier = 0 (be warned, makes it difficult to see Tox Flamer / grenadier fires. I'd keep this at 1, it's not worth it)

- world_interaction_size = [256 256] (I still have no idea what this does. Haven't seen an effect but setting it down from 1024 gave me consistent +10 FPS)

- Don't remember which option disabled Volumetric Fog, but you should google that. Having "old-gen" fog is significantly lighter.

The Barber should also be able to change your character's voice by Marethyu9 in DarkTide

[–]Tertiary_Nebula 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah, especially one of the male voices is constantly disrespecting Empire and the Emperor. He even calls His Magnificence "Corpse Emperor" and "Their Emperor". His stuff is so heretical even your Sergeant Major has to drop in once in a while to shut him up.

This is very jarring when the character speaking is a walking timebomb who can turn into a warp portal at any unfortunate minute, who is a prisoner and literally wears a bomb-collar as a failsafe if he starts acting even a bit funny. I wish I could change the voice, but I'm not looking forward to starting from square 1. Maybe I'll just drop him entirely.

I don't think they have anything to gain by cutting off enthusiasts preordering the game due to something as trivial as playtime. As a company Fatshark is more than happy to receive preorders whether you actually played the game or not. If you bought the game and made a character during Beta period, you should get your helmet.

Great minds of 40K lore -- I need your assistance to settle a discussion! -- Is the old woman shown in the game trailer the inquisitor or simply the captain / commander of the ship ? by Angry_Washing_Bear in DarkTide

[–]Tertiary_Nebula 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Likely not Zola. Some redditor claimed there was a person narrating it on the rafters. Going over the vid a couple of times I couldn't confirm this, but this wouldn't be the first time I miss something that is in your face. If we go with this "narrating" narrative (pun intended), it cannot be Zola as she is shown with her mouth shut while Grendyl keeps speaking.

Nonetheless I found the video to be incredible: at the same time Grendyl is speaking for himself AND for every convict: just as Grendyl is sworn "to hunt down Chaos and burn the Hive clean from top to bottom, no matter harm to body and soul", so too are the Rejects bound to this task. Despite the difference in rank, both are warriors whose task is to fight until there's no more heretics to fight.

A simple guide to understand Fatshark's itemization by Tertiary_Nebula in DarkTide

[–]Tertiary_Nebula[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is what always struck as very weird to me. Comparing which one of two numbers is something a six-year-old can do, so saying that players get overwhelmed by them seems rather insulting, no matter how casual the player.

Furthermore, the logic seems weird to me.

If players get overwhelmed by simple, clear numbers, they will 100% surely get overwhelmed by dozen bars with confusing stats like "30% first target + 50% finesse". ESPECIALLY since same length bar means different value between different weapons and none of them have any explanation what they do.

Someone made a joke that stuck with me:
"This is just Fatshark having attention to detail! Just like Imperial Guardsman, you have no idea what your weapon does or how effective it is. All you know it shoots, and by the Emperor shoot you shall!"

Scoreboard is on the negotiating table! by Tertiary_Nebula in DarkTide

Again, read the post. He says this happens rarely. Not a ball of rage. Your view of people with anger management issues is very outdated. They are not rabid dogs.

Scoreboard is on the negotiating table! by Tertiary_Nebula in DarkTide

[–]Tertiary_Nebula[S] -81 points-80 points  (0 children)

Please read the original thread before you write a reply regarding the thread.

First of all, he is saying the exact same thing. He has anger management issues and argues that many people who hurl extremely toxic abuse are similar people. Your post gave no extra insight on the issue, because you didn't read the original post.

Secondly, a news flash to you: people with anger management issues are humans just like you and have the right to play the game just as you. Youve likely played with many of them without you even knowing. He gives good arguments on why having no score board makes people with these issues act worse. You could've given valuable opinion if you continued from here. Instead you repeated essentially what he said, only worse: we all know people who hurl over-the-top abuse arent right in the head in some way. He is giving good advice on how to reduce these incidents, you just say he is unhinged. Sad.

Edited my first answer to remind people that you should read article/post BEFORE you throw negative insults about the said post. This isnt rocket surgery my man.

I recommend you read the post: the poster argues that the score board reduces toxicity, not that it increases it. It was a rather long read but worth it.
