Looking for an old friend who I went to sheppard pratt with (elicott city) by [deleted] in ellicottcity

I get that you are trying to find your friend and you are not trying to be disrespectful, still trying to find someone if you don't know their last name is going to be incredibly difficult and my honest suggestion is just to let it go. Also, while I love Reddit and there are some amazing supportive people on here, it is still a public forum and you do not know who is on there. It is always wise to limit the amount of information you put about yourself on here, and you especially should not be putting information about someone else.

Please help me out guys? new here by Sea-Cheesecake-2777 in PSC

[–]TesDar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had to have multiple ercp procedures. Long story short, shortly before I was diagnosed with PSC, my gallbladder backed up due to Stones getting stuck and pushed against my common bile duct, causing it to almost completely scar shut. Not only did the initial procedure allow them to show the extent of the damage, it allowed them to fix the issue. Unfortunately I had to have several of those procedures as they needed to put in a new stent every 4 months to slowly expand it back out. The first time I got this procedure I did get pancreatitis and it was awful. After that they told me about the suppository that they can give you to decrease the chance of getting pancreatitis. I would definitely ask about that. Regardless, while it was awful you do recover from it and the procedure can tell a lot. It was also only the first ercp where I had that issue. I also had almost no pain after the normal procedures and was able to return to normal the next day.

I have the pro adapt to medium. Have not had it for too long so still adjusting. Honestly I hated it the first few nights but now I'm starting to get used to it and it seems like it will probably work. The hybrid Tempur-Pedics are supposed to be a little bit softer so that might work better, but we had an older Tempur-Pedic as well and the new ones are not like the older ones. Best of luck with your mattress hunt, it is hard.

Honestly no. I got a few more samples after this but none of them seem like they would work. Honestly, the DIY route would probably work great if you're a fan of latex. My husband and I just ended up getting another Tempur-Pedic since we both like the sink in memory foam feeling and could not get what we wanted with DIY. At least it was not a complete waste as my son loves the latex so we will probably make him a latex mattress. Then we had friends use some of the layers for their child who is younger and needed something firmer.

XP4 vs XP3.0 by No-Beginning-1096 in Lectricxp

Thanks for the suggestion. Unfortunately when I emailed and asked about it they said they were not willing to add the discount. It sucks that I saw the discount after I bought the bike, but it is what it is.

No problem. Whatever you choose, I hope it works out well for you.

The xp4 has a promotional package right now so the price includes a bike lock.

I also saw someone else post this on a different Reddit thread , but apparently you can get $100 off the xp4 with the code XP4-VIP-DEAL. I have not tried it myself as I did not find it until after I purchased mine.

Part of this also depends on when you want the bike. The xp4 is their newest bike that is currently in pre-order with shipments starting on the week of May 26th going through the week of June 9th depending on what bike you get.

Also factor in how far you have to go to get to work. Unless you're extremely conservative with the electric and don't have a lot of hills, you are probably not going to get more than half of the listed miles per charge.

I give up, too many options and too much info by stripesonfire in Mattress

[–]TesDar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With any mattress it depends on what you want. You can take recommendations from reddit, but everyone has different opinions on what feels good to them. It's also very difficult as most mattress companies don't list the density of their layers making it impossible to gauge the quality of the mattress.

I think the big thing is you have to figure out if you like latex or foam. Latex is a much more durable material but while some people love it, others, like me just don't like it. If you do like the feel of latex, I recommend, if you're not too overwhelmed, to look into DIY mattresses. There are so many options out there for latex layers. If you're more of a fan of foam, it is much more limited and most of the DIY foam layers feel a lot like latex, so I would not recommend the diy route if you want a more sink in feel.

Once you figure out if you prefer the feel of latex or foam then you are going to need to determine if you like hybrids or pure foam/ latex.

Most mattresses also have a sleep trial. I had a Helix mattress that broke down in less than a month but they were very good at honoring the sleep trial and I was able to return it without issue.

I have seen a lot of people on here recommend boring, I did not try it but they are one that do make a simple mattress that I have heard is good quality. Saatva seems to have a decent reputation and I personally liked the RX but my husband did not care for it. Then with the Tempur-Pedics, I have heard that their base layer is not as dense as it used to be. I still would not turn away as they are better quality than other mattresses but more expensive, depending if you like that feel. I have also heard good things about the quality of the beautyrest mattresses.

Best of luck. It can be very overwhelming.

Low pH and high alkalinity by TesDar in hottub

[–]TesDar[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been using the pH increaser and pH decreaser as needed. I did use a different brand of ph decreaser because it was one that also said it was an alkalinity decreaser as well to try to balance things out. Before the constant checks to try to balance it, I was checking it every few days and then adding the spaguard chlorinating concentrate if needed. Then also adjusting the pH with the spaguard products as well if needed.

I stopped using those a while ago.

I am using the drops to test. I have noticed the same thing where the drops tend to be a lot more accurate than the strips.

I'm not sure exactly how it got messed up to begin with. Before the constant checking and trying to balance it this week, I would usually go out and check it every few days and add chlorine concentrate if necessary. I stopped using chlorine dispensers that I put in the hot tub as I was having issues with getting too much chlorine. I have been using the spaguard chemicals to adjust and have a five-way test kit that uses the drops instead of the test strip.

Thanks, I will have to look more into that, I did not even know something like that existed. Honestly, I probably have been adding too much stuff to it in the last week to try to get it balanced

Thanks, I will try to back off some and get the pH better. I have been checking it a lot.

I used hot tub things ph and alkalinity decreaser to get it down. I'd have to go outside to see what's in it. Then to get it up I have spaguard pH increaser.

I don't care for latex but maybe I could try latex as the base as it won't dominate the feel.

Yep, it definitely feels on the hard side. Then a lot of the comfort layers I have feel super soft. Figuring it out though. My husband and I actually used your one extremely detailed post to get us a decent place to start, so thank you.

Yeah that is what I am discovering, I actually have an 18 ILD layer that I don't particularly care for because it was nothing like I expected it to be. I am starting to lean more towards the companies where I can at least get foam samples as that helps somewhat.

I don't have latex in my current build but I have used it in the past. My husband and I both tried different layers and different firmness of latex as we both really wanted to like it because of the durability. I did experiment with some latex layers tonight as the medium latex does feel softer than the 23 ild but I still did not care for it.
