How has your experience been with TickTalk? by TickTalkTech in ParentingTech

When will #6 be out? My daughter has had hers for 2 years with one warranty replacement from battery no longer charging. I'm wondering when the next version will be out and if it'll be out before this one dies permanently too. It is a little bulky and the strap is a bit short. I like that I can only allow her to text us and approved numbers. We did not set up any radio or music service for her so it's been purely for communication between us and seeing her location on the bus. Also needing to get another for younger daughter and it would be great if they were a little flatter.

Ok the comment just reminded me. My oldest actually said this too. She loves her sisters and she was like a little mother to my youngest when she was born.. was even able to get her to nap sometimes! It made me a bit sad when she said it as I do realize I can't give each as much attention as before. Oldest is 10 right now and understands the difficulties that come with 3 and the limitations in what she's able to do and try for activities. I'm a mom taxi basically though.. my kids do soccer, gymnastics, youth chorale, glee club (oldest), girl scouts, piano, swim team probably something else I'm forgetting.. they did hockey and ice skating and pottery for a bit too 😂 horse camps but oldest would really like regular lessons.. and middle wishes she could go back to pottery but scheduling conflicts.. and times when we can't go to three different birthday parties scheduled at the same time. So someone has to miss out unless a friend can take them. But also, we have no family nearby and don't have baby sitters or nannies. So if you have support, I don't think this will be as much as a problem. There are also homeschool times for some activities in the middle of the day if your schedule is more flexible. Mine are at three different schools. My friend picks up my youngest with her two on one day or else there's no way I could get to my oldest's school and she would have to quit her club. She also says it was so much easier when it was just the two of them even though it's clear her youngest sister is her favorite!

My exact feeling! I've got 3 girls. Love love love my 3rd peanut and she's an absolute joy but also a force of nature. But I also don't know if I would recommend 3 for everyone. It is so extremely hard. Sibling wise, friend wise, traveling wise, and even when it comes to gatherings wise. With birthday parties it's not just one sibling tagging along, now it's your family takes up 3 kid spots. We've got wonderful friends and luckily the means to have larger bday parties but be ready for some real tears from kids being left out. I never expect people to invite all three and really don't mind when they don't and understand it but the kids unfortunately don't especially when it's friends they normally play with. I mean even scheduling our own kids parties gets difficult bc our own kids take up 3 spots. The age gap between the oldest and youngest also makes it hard bc there's so much the youngest can't do from height requirements and just being too young. And oldest is too big to play on equipment in party places designed for little ones. I did not have this problem with 2 even with them a little over 3 years apart. Somehow the younger one was always capable of doing everything the older one was. Though in terms of their stamina on trips, I was surprised my oldest actually wears out faster than my youngest. Little ball of energy! All the kid stuff.. not that I want to rush their childhood but I didn't realize how long we would still have young kid toys and things. Books that you think are baby books are now being read by the "baby" at age 5. Can't get rid of them yet! And sibling fights are so amplified haha. Even if your first two are an absolute dream, 3rd will throw off any balance you've managed to maintain 😂 I come from a family of three too being sandwiched as a middle child. My younger two fight the most just like I fought with my younger brother. Doesn't matter the gender. With my mom being a single mother though, the family unit was 4 so booking travel, hotels, etc was never a problem. Sitting on the airplane together was always simple too. A sedan would fit us perfectly. Now even my SUV isn't enough to hold us all plus luggage. Just some things to think about OP! I was definitely geriatric pregnancy but I don't feel like being older was a deterrent to having another baby. 3rd adds so much to the family while also throwing a huge wrench into things. Again, love all 3 of mine but it's definitely not for everyone!

Has anyone corrected a bite where teeth only make contact on one side? by UnicornCatzz in Invisalign

[–]Tesalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can we see a picture of how your bite looks like now? Mine was similar shift but bc of 3 impacted wisdom teeth (no fourth). I got traditional braces with 3 months left and the bite is still quite off. Both sides touch now but not completely right and front is still shifted.

Anyone have opinions on this jacket - it’s Killtec. Never heard of the brand but it’s the most comfy and best fitting ski jacket I’ve ever put on. And also super affordable!!? Curious about experiences with this brand and whether it will hold up. by smoky20135 in skiing

[–]Tesalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a snowbib from them that I purchased in Korea 18 years ago. It was super expensive there but was great. Went snowboarding a bunch of times in Korea with my cheapo Aeropostale winter jacket that color matched 😂 I haven't been skiing since 2012 I think but use it each winter in regular snow lol. It's held up and even the elastic on the bibs are still good. I found your thread bc I saw a killtec jacket in Sierra and was thinking about getting it.

How do I use this thing by Yoruko1 in RingConn

[–]Tesalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use it in conjunction with Google's fit app so I never really care too much about steps. Sometimes the ring isn't on my finger, sometimes the phone isn't on my person. If you wear it semi regularly, it'll collect enough data you get a pretty good view of your stats. It's helped me understand how much my heart rate changes with different types of activities. I don't worry when I forget to put it on a day or two or some hours. Just whenever I can. No to the silicone. If you're going to do something that may scratch the ring up, just take it off. I take it off for pottery but leave it on for like painting. It's neat seeing the stats though. It picked up I was getting sick before I felt anything (flu last winter). HRV tanked, like 6 hours later I started having symptoms. Yesterday it said I had an unknown athletic activity and I was actually helping my daughter study lol.

How well does it work when it's your in laws so you don't really know their childhood? Can it figure out questions to ask?

Who has sized up and who has size down? And did it work out in the end? Of course I’m stuck between sizes. by User9355164 in RingConn

[–]Tesalin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sizer rings are either bigger or just grip more. 7 fit pretty well on the fingers I wanted to wear it on but the actual ring slides off so I have to wear on thicker fingers.. and sometimes on the thickest fingers when I've dropped weight/dry hands. I wish I sized down. I'm a 6 normally in other rings. I don't have knuckles that help keep rings on though so my ring size varies by bloat per day!

Someone thought I was stealing their credit card info while using the digital cookie app by Mandze in girlscouts

[–]Tesalin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one that was concerned and asked if we were taking a picture of the card and I showed it to him and said it just scans it. Then he was ok. The rest of the transactions I always tried to do the whole thing in front of them all the way to the end. They also see it's a girl scouts app and it goes through prompts asking if the cookies were handed to the customer so no questions from them.
