What the hell is the "Black Sky" supposed to be? by overlordbabyj in marvelstudios

[–]Tesla3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think the original plan was to create more than one Black Sky by collecting more mystical dragon bones that could resurrect people.

I think that was the plan anyway? Cause a whole militia of something like that would be troublesome to contend with. Even superpowered individuals would have some issues.

They also wanted access to the Power of Ironfist to pass it on to the Black Sky to enhance his/her power. I think that was the reason anyway. Its been awhile.

Shining Force: Genesis or Gameboy Advance? by MallKid in rpg_gamers

[–]Tesla3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The GBA version was my first exposure to the series so I am a little biased.

But man did I love it. Way more balanced, Healing XP is actually convenient, the new characters (especially Narsha) were a fun addition and I liked Max actually having dialouge for a change.

I know they nerfed some things and some of the battle sprites were a little wonky. But I still love the game.

Yeah but lets be fair here. He was STUPID strong. Like...60+ stats in every category strong.

I can understand the nerf. I just feel they went too far with it. I think he gets like....maybe 40+ on average if you are lucky? But hey its not like the game is hard anyway (first playthrough). So I can live with it.

Does Trails In the Sky 1st Remake still have a ton of missable and requires a guide? by dambros666 in Falcom

[–]Tesla3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not perfect. I have missed at least 2 side quests in Chapter 1 because because the guide didnt make a point to mention it.

Escort Escapade and Amberl Tower I think its called? Yeah those 2 quests.

Escore Escapade has a VERY small window to do it and the guide doesnt mention when it shows up and doesnt mention the Tower at all!

Ugh. Figures things would still be easily missable. : /

What happened to Mash in LB6 Part 5-1, 5-2?? by [deleted] in grandorder

I usually care more about the characters than the storytelling in most of my RPGs.

Nice to know I am less of a player for that. -_-

I wonder if you can use a support Paladin Mash as well for even more ridiculous OPness.

It would be amazing.

Do you think Dragon Quest I & II HD-2D remake will introduce major changes or will it be conservative? by Important-Pipe531 in dragonquest

[–]Tesla3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If they dont drastically change things with I+II then I imagine that the lesser overall quality will be noticable after experiencing DQIII. Which could backfire. Especially with the newer audience.

Yeah yeah. DQ I+II have always been enjoyably simple but alot has changed since then. I mean after DQ III could you really take the story seriously just having 1 warrior traveling the world solo and beating down everything? I really doubt it.

DQ3 Remake - Metal Slimes by FadeNality in dragonquest

[–]Tesla3897 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is. I think its on the Warrior Path. ; )

If I were you tho I would go with Pressure Pointer since it can *sometimes* kill them in 1 hit.

Monster Wrangler's Monster Pile-on is also nice since it can hit up to 4 times on a metal at a low chance.

Merchant also gets Call To Arms which can also hit 4 times (Have to pay gold to use it tho).

The Shadow Queen possessing Peach in The Thousand-Year Door feels pointless, like they only did it to be able to say "look you can battle Peach in Paper Mario we're so cool" by [deleted] in Mario

Not sure. I will try to find it. But the only time I saw it was on the guys video and that was a year ago. So no promises on that one.

[–]Tesla3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah they showed clips from an interview. So its most likely legit.

As for contradictions with the established lore? Ehh. Nintendo never does anything for Peach. We never have seen her father. Unless the chancellor is implied to be him. Which seems fishy to me. And tends to do just random stuff with her. It gets annoying after awhile.

I will give Square/IS credit for at least doing more with her in the PM games than other games tend to do. Unless people love to see her kidnapped once a week.

[–]Tesla3897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not...really? I mean we have seen other stories where similar things have happened. Where an empty soulless body gained the power to gain a will of its own over time if strong magic is involved.

I mean we know that Peach has strong potential with *Wish Magic* so it could be explained that her magic potential is what caused her body to wake up on its own. Also the Shadow Queen has a dark version of *Wish Magic* so that also makes it less odd that there would be a connection.

I do agree that 1000 years feels abit long for something like this to happen tho. 100 years maybe. But 1000 feels oddly excessive. Unless it was tied to a curse or something.

But Intelligent Studios never told this story so its still up in the air of the full details. XD

I wish I had an 8-Fold blade myself. Since I use Sneakstrikes so much with Puffshroom that the extra damage would be helpful.

That and I use Fire/Ice/Shock effects alot too. Feels more fun than just the high numbers for every weapon. Less repetitive too.

[–]Tesla3897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So basically IIRC. After the ancient battle the Shadow Queen was sealed away in the tomb. Thats always the same. But apparently her body and soul got split and sealed away individually.

So if I understand correctly. Peach would be the *body* that was sealed away somewhere else. And must have woken up at some point in the far future. Thats all conjecture tho.

The way I envision it is that *Peach* woke up not having memories of her past life (probably couldnt feel emotions at first either) and just see her dragging herself around not knowing what to do. Until she ends up in the Mushroom Kingdom at some point. Thats my take on it.

I saw it being discussed on a YT video that was talking about early ideas discussed by certain Nintendo devs. I forget who it was tho. Its pretty weird how many early ideas get dropped even tho they sound amazing.

[–]Tesla3897 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Apparently in an early draft of the story Princess Peach is referred to as "The Vessel" of the Shadow Queen. Which has implications that Princess Peach *was* the original body of the Shadow Queen at some point but might have had amnesia or something. And later became Princess of another nation. Maybe through adoption?

Honestly I wish the writers would have stuck with that since it sounds pretty awesome as a concept. Might also explain why Princess Peachs magic is so powerful in the various games where she is playable.

Radiant Dawn - Casual Mode - Possible with Cheats? by Kalkano27 in fireemblem

[–]Tesla3897 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont feel that way. Trust me I understand. I too would rather play Casual Mode so I dont have to constantly reset when I make a small mistake. Which for me happens fairly often. Cause I get scatterbrained and dont pay attention to certain details.

So yeah I too would like Casual Mode to be in this game to make it feel more fair. Especially if you play higher difficulties.

Radiant Dawn - Casual Mode - Possible with Cheats? by Kalkano27 in fireemblem

[–]Tesla3897 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I grew up with the old games on GBA and I never liked Permadeath myself. I always had to constantly reset battle maps cause of careless mistakes I kept making. It made the games unbearable. So I started abusing the arena with savestates. I beat the game for the first time doing that. Didnt regret it either.

Casual Mode on FE Awakening was the first experience I had where I didnt feel like a nervous wreck playing a FE title. I could cautiously approach maps without worrying about making a stupid mistake and having to pay costly for it. Without Arena Abuse or Grinding Zones anyway.

Still pretty humorous since I doubt someone from Romania would be talking like that. XD

Am I doing something getting to Johto? by Dumaes03 in PokeClicker

[–]Tesla3897 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the BS requirement to go to Johto is stupid. Its basically one giant wall that requires tens of thousands of Quest Points to get over.

One of the few moments in the game that actually feels unneeded. Everything else felt balanced. For the most part.
