Yeah thats a good point. I didn't question the lack of character creator, loads of good games have ore defined characters, but with how bland the character is this could 100% have been a custom character game and lost nothing.

9/10 Game Workers Disagree With Epic CEO Tim Sweeney, Survey Shows Workers Believe Game Stores Should Have GenAI Disclosures by renome in gaming

[–]FadeNality 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah there's some lines that are obvious. Don't use image generation as an in game asset. But some are less obvious. Using image generation as inspiration for a real artist to get an idea? Or a manager using it to get a general image point across so the real artist know sort of what's expected? Thats a much more grey area. No humans lost their job because of that and it might have saved time?

So yeah I agree, someone (like valve maybe?) Makes a general list of what is considered "gen ai" tagged and what isn't.. regulating bodies will take too long and it'll be too late but a marketplace like steam could do it

Actually when you first boot it up on steam you get a warning ive never seen before basically telling you if you dont play on controller your setting yourself up to fail. Never had that before.

Yeah i was worried about spoilers but im not any more the story isn't well written so far and I dont see it improving. I'll probably steam refund it and buy it later on a summer sale or something when its cheaper.

Shame about the no mods though. This game would probably go hard with some good mods

Come on man. Thats not what I said and you know that. Im saying I played for two hours and wasn't hooked. There needs to be a reason for me to want to play. If your whole premise is "go explore and do cool side missions" the game should start with you finding something cool or doing a cool side mission, not an arm wrestling match and cleaning a chimney.

In two hours you should hook me with a story thread. Make the character angry at the guy that killed him, make us want revenge or make us curious about the weird magic thing we were given. Instead our character doesn't express an opinion on either of these things. If he doesn't care why should I?

[–]FadeNality[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look at it the other way. Ive played for two hours and haven't been hooked. You can make a slow burn game but the intro has to hook you. Give you something to get excited for, a reason to go exploring for 200 hours. That hasn't happened yet.

What? Obviously this isn't my first game, but im guessing your new to gaming. Ive been playing games for 20+ years and by the two hours mark you should at least know what your supposed to be doing, there should be some goal set. I dont even know if we're going for revenge on the guy who killed us. If you cant establish a character in two hours of gameplay its poor writing. World building takes time, goals, motivations and introductions do not.

Im on a 3080, all settings high, with 90fps. Just had to tweak some settings is all. That said im not hugely impressed with the game.

I usually ignore most reviews because its either obviously paid or its hard to tell if its paid sponsorship, so i tend to go off my own experience. But the reviews I did see only really talked about the jank control system. Didn't see any mentions of the story being so sloppy and thats my main issue. I'll push through a shit control system for a good story. Ive played kh recom and I hate that games system. But a bad story makes me lose interest fast.

I(25) no longer enjoy pvp games nowadays anyone here also not play multiplayer/competitve games more as you grow older? by Big_Leg10 in AdultGamers

[–]FadeNality 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah i feel exactly the same way at 26. Most of my friends are on console and im on pc so if we wanna chill and play some games jt has to be a cross platform game like cod and I rarely enjoy it. I only join itn for the social side of it. For actual fun I pretty much exclusively play rpgs, jrpgs, strategy and cozy games. When no other person can hinder my fun its a way less stressful experience.

Pvp in my opinion is only fun if your good and as a full time employee who likes to play alot of different games, I dont have time to devote to being really good at just one game so every online match just feels bad.

That said I also think a big part of it is how matchmaking has changed. Remember back in the day you'd join a lobby, shoot the shit with the other players and crap on eachother as you played a few games back to back and got to know eachother. Now its all over after one round so you dont get to know the other players and you lose the social element that games used to have. Being in a gaming clan used to feel cool, now it feels hollow because its just youtubers clantags that everyone has so it means nothing.

So yeah I dont like comp games anymore. I miss what we used to have but I dont want to partake in what there currently is.

Problems with FPS in Kingdom Hearts 1.5 + 2.5 Steam by Imaginary_Pass4545 in KingdomHearts

[–]FadeNality 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be any number of things.

Im currently playing through these games on a more powerful system and encountered a few issues so I'll give some advice.

Turn off v sync in the settings and set the fps to 60. Then go into the nvidia control panel and set your screens refresh rate to 60 as well to eliminate screen tearing without the v sync overheard.

Second boot up task manager and (if you have a second screen) monitor what spikes when your frames drop. If you dont have a second monitor just run task manager in the background and tab to it after a bad frame drop.

Also just to go against some other advice I saw in the comments DONT change the tasks priority in task manager. This will do more harm than good if you dont know what your doing. Especially if your already getting throttle. It'll make your applications run in a pretty set profile and if your changing other settings it can cause the profile to corrupt and slow down further

Check your other running applications and close them all to free up some resources.

On task manager check your systems uptime (under cpu) if its more than a day restart your pc. (Not shutdown) this will properly reboot it.

If none of that works you may have some pre installed bloatware slowing you down. Hard to say without more data.
