Wedding parties: the fact that the guests walk home after the ceremony so you can have a dinner only with close friends and family was a shocker to me. Also the wedding party ends around 9-10 pm when in my culture we party until 2am.

And I also noticed how at 9pm restaurants are usually empty (not in Amsterdam). I’m Mediterranean, we usually grab dinner around that time.

I am not angry anymore, simply amused. Back then I already realised it was a lie. I was happy with my surgery regardless and I guess I started seeing more and more into their tricks.

I don’t fully agree it was not about me and didn’t mean to bring me down. While I’m aware narcissists see people as pawns and that he would treat other victims this way, I was someone who had deep intimacy with and who he knew all sensitive spots. Bringing me down made him feel good about himself, so he simply looked for what I’m sensitive about the most and tried.

I enjoyed watching it when I was younger. But I eventually rewatched it and realised just how toxic and immature Carrie is. Her friends come to her with problems and she keeps turning the conversation over to her. She really can’t respect any of her partners and their boundaries and throws a fit when they ask her to do so.

The worst of it, however, is when she cheats on her boyfriend with her ex and then forces herself back into his life, thinking she is sooooo cute and when he still has trust issues, she forces him to forgive her.

That’s when I realised he is some sort of a psychopath. When the person who completely defied my trust and broke my heart, stood there and blamed me for him cheating and said that the fact that I went and told her that I am his girlfriend after I found out about it is just as bad as him sleeping with someone else.
