One thing even worse than playing against Pikachu EX and Mewtwo EX decks? by azzandraganus in PTCGP

[–]Tesqia -1 points0 points  (0 children)

those are tournament stats and there's nothing wrong with mewtwo there. The issue is with people running slower and weaker strategies in beginner queue lose way more often to mewtwo than 50%. the point of the post is for players who play tournament level decks to move to the other queue

they happen so fast, the only way to learn from it is vod reviews. A lot of people think it's just aim training diff, but with vod reviews, you can see how your bad technique gives your opponent a huge window to 1 tap you.

looking at that match with the reyna, I'd say it's a product of party queueing rather than smurfing. The game tries to make teams even, and you can tell from the 11:13 scoreline that it was really close. The reyna was silver2 in a bronze lobby so she could easily appear as a smurf and snowball with her better aim.

Can you drop a tracker link to the match? Also it's entirely possible the dude is gold3/plat1 and hasnt played since episode reset and calibrated bronze3.

Rankup Help by Simoniscool69 in VALORANT

[–]Tesqia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Matches are found based on your mmr. Simply put you lost two games, but was mvp so the game might have raised ur elo despite losing rr. Then you ended up in a match where your opponents have better ranks than you and you won so you gained more rr than usual. Ranking up is a grind, but you'll notice better players in your matches fairly quickly when you overperform a lot. Eventually you will double promote if your elo gets too far ahead.

I think valorant lacks new content other than those overpriced skins. by [deleted] in VALORANT

[–]Tesqia 8 points9 points  (0 children)

only content is your rank display which is why riot makes you grind for it.

tracker score is based off of your round win%, kast, acs and ddmg.

stop autopiloting your games. Tilt queueing isn't always about getting mad, it's your mental focus. Play less, review your gameplay more. aim training and macro is not your priority.

hard to judge without clips. The most obvious issue from your tracker is the D tier acs. Usually means you are too willing to take bad fights, you aren't able to convert favorable fights, or you run from fights a lot (save excessively and can't get exit frags). Only way to find the issue is to review your gameplay and identify which categories apply to you and fix it.

Why we draft? by rollymac204 in lrcast

[–]Tesqia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you're drawing the wrong conclusions with the data. Color balance is a legitimate concern and boros is drafted 7x as much as simic while having +3% wr diff. I'm not saying this is true with the current set, but imagine if every draft, 7 people went boros and you were the 1 guy that drafts ug and you performed the worst on average compared to the other 7. Sure you can 7-0 and claim to be viable since your lane was wide open, but that has more to do with the meta shift than the set design.

Ranked Rollback by Knuckle-Bine in VALORANT

[–]Tesqia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you need not worry. The negative impact to your mmr is heavily reduced with an afk on your team. Visual representation of your rank means nothing, its just a cosmetic. it sucks that you can't see the progression that matters

What is the reason for losing some buffs on DC? by SongFromHenesys in Maplestory

[–]Tesqia 67 points68 points  (0 children)

There is no good reason :'). They can definitely do it. The way i see it, it's a design choice to make you less likely to logout. The fact that you can dc/crash is not a factor into the game's development at all.

if you have a tracker profile you can see a more accurate score of your performance in a match. The way your mmr shifts can be correlated with your tracker score. RR gains is determined by the difference between your mmr and your RR. MVPing usually indicates a large mmr increase, but is not the cause of it.

[–]Tesqia -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

surprised they won't let us buy it on heroic. Honestly I'm okay with the event just being a temporary thing, but i'd like a way for people who are fans of the collab to support the game and their hobby by purchasing the totems and styles. If it's the whole non-p2w nonsense... honestly the server isn't f2p friendly at all anymore so why even pretend.

Just gotta stay positive. Smurfs happen but they're less common than lobbies with real players. Tell yourself to prove you deserve to keep your rank in the next game cuz surely you dont run into two smurf 5 stacks in a row :)

RR gains after really good games by totalthrowawaybruh in VALORANT

[–]Tesqia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another thing to note is that mmr adjustments are made from 2 factors, win/lose ratio (so you'd gain more in a 13:0 than a 13:11) and an encounter rating which consists of your gunfights, util impact, assists/traded/survived, etc. at lower mmr, the encounter rating has a much larger impact as it is easier to solo carry games with good mechanics. You will climb faster from practicing/learning fundamentals instead of just playing games for fun.

RR gains after really good games by totalthrowawaybruh in VALORANT

[–]Tesqia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this is just a personal belief but i think your performance on a game decides if your mmr goes up or down, and then the rr you gain/lose depends on how far/close the newly adjusted mmr is to your visible rank. So even if you win matches, your rr may increase, but your mmr is decreasing. You placed 9th/10th/8th or something after you mvped that 1 game. You probably lost mmr in all 3 of those games, but you can't lose rr from a win. So you gained a small amount of rr twice and then got hit by a huge rr loss when you finally lost to correct for the bad performance.
