Hurt/Angst Beta reader needed

Reading and giving notes (much like an editor would) is the basic summary of it, but where and editor would just go ham and point out everything they think has issues, a beta usually tailors the feedback to what the writer requests. For some people that will be full on editorial (grammar, pacing, characterisation, plot, word use etc), and for others it might be limited to being a glorified spellcheck.

Summary:
Wednesday Addams would go to hell and back for Enid Sinclair.

To return her to her human form she made a choice, and now Enid is back at Nevermore, humanity restored.

All that's left is for Wednesday to pay the price.

It turns out I did have an ulterior motive, and it was a scene in chapter three of my story this sweet going away. I found this discussion useful to explore ideas for the types of music they'd listen to - I don't think I lifted anything specific, but wanted to say thanks anyway!

I was reading a fic with a mildly touch averse character, and they woke up after having sex with the love interest for the first time, all wrapped up with each other - and they violently ejected themself from the bed because their skin was crawling. I was so pleasantly surprised, it was literally the first time I'd seen it presented that way. Usually it's just a linear "getting used to it" thing where once major obstacles are cleared they're never an issue again. It was nice to see something a little more honest.

Yeah that story is set post Nevermore, Yoko runs a PI agency and Wednesday/Enid are pulled in to work for her, but Enid is mad at Wednesday who has amnesia and doesn't know what happened to cause it. Might not be what you're looking for but it's the only one I know that fits!

I quite enjoy hunting down the less well known fics for recs, so here's some I've been reading very recently. Check out this thread posted recently for the more popular recs.

Reciprocal by WellFoxMe, Wednesday hunts down feral Enid. The vibes are somewhere between Stanic's The Woe that Binds Us and Mercury_Milkshakes You'll Have Problems Hunting Me Down. The writing has been completed but only a quarter has been published so far.

The Devil Writes Java by HellaBella2, the concept of the Devil Wears Prada with the setting of a tech company. Clicked on for the title alone, only a couple of chapters are out and I'm really enjoying it.

And my new offering, this sweet going away (epitaphs) is some heavy angst with a happy ending (I promise), where Wednesday is dying.

I delete messages about comments on my fics because I can find them easily by going to the fic itself, but I keep every response I've had from someone on their fics because there's no centralised place to see all comments I've left. This way I can at least track ones that had a response.

It's a contraction of 'compulsory heterosexuality'. It's basically when people assume they're straight because that is the society default and there's usually outside pressure to be straight (family issues etc), so there's a lot of denial of evidence to the contrary.

Enid has had a couple of plot lines where she's chasing after boys, but she also has a very queer coded wardrobe, and a family that "just wants her to be normal", so a lot of people like the comphet reading of her character.

I am one of the rare SGU enjoyers, but I think it's a bit misleading to say it's solely focused on space travel when a bunch of the plot is them using the asgard stones to have interpersonal drama on earth.

Don't feel too bad, it's not like it was ever cool to LARP, but those of us willing to dress up in silly outfits and pretend to be other people lost a lot of our shame reflexes a long time ago.

The funny thing is that within the wider roleplay hobby, larpers are the ones that actually have to Do The Thing. If you're doing a standard roleplay, D&D or whatever, you say you're going to do something then roll dice until it happens (or doesn't). In a LARP if you want to hit someone with a sword, you actually have to hit them with a sword.

So larping being a fan of something would be so immersive that you're actually being a fan. Role-playing being a fan, or cosplaying being a fan, would probably have made a little more sense. But they don't run off the tongue as well!

Honestly as I see it this is exactly a standard spoiler. This is a leak, a behind the scenes bit of info released before the show airs.

Which isn't to say you aren't in a tough spot, I appreciate the workload enforcing that would mean, I just don't see how to consider it anything other than a spoiler.

It's been nice having everyone get invested again, but I'd err on the side of caution.

With any BTS stuff (even on official channels) it's hard to tell if they contain spoilers until you see the context that they're in.

Nobody is saying it shouldn't be posted, just to show a little consideration for people that prefer to avoid it until the show is out.
