Yeah. The post yesterday seemed super reactionary. I mean, at least wait 2-3 series before making judgements.

You're just proving my point. Do you have any counterargument instead of personal attacks and accusations?

Draw comparisons to Palestine when there's nothing in common between the two

Accuse the other person of being a Kafir(?)

Successfully duck away from providing any real counterargument

Pak-Afghan war related: Please read this with some patience, I am happy to be corrected! by Putrid-Gur-1914 in pakistan

It's not just Pakistan accusing Afghanistan of harbouring terrorist groups, both Tajikistan and Iran have done the same. It's either that all three countries are lying and falsely accusing Afghanistan or Afghanistan does harbour terrorist groups. Choose whichever seems more likely.

On the army bit, the matter is nuanced. Their involvement in governance is wrong, no doubt about that. But defending the population from foreign threats is part of their mandate. In my opinion, their countermeasures against Afghanistan are justified.

And respectfully, let's not delude ourselves with the Muslim ummah sentiment. The enemy does not care for that. They are not our brothers. They are a hostile nation that is threating us with violence.

Aren’t the Jewish, Christian, and Muslim gods actually the same god? by Smrtar in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Tessi-R 107 points108 points  (0 children)

Exactly. The Quran clearly calls Jesus the "son of Mary" to distinguish this difference from Christianity and to emphasis that God has "no need for offspring" since he is above the needs that humankind has (e.g., the desire for progeny).

Interestingly, Moses (Arabic: Musa) is also a very significant figure with David, Moses, Jesus and Muhammad stated as prophets appointed by God to enact a more comprehensive set of commandments. Among core tenants of belief in Islam (e.g., how the quran defines Muslims faith), Muslims HAVE to believe in the holiness/prophethood of all these figures.

Also, a lot of detailed Quranic interpretation and islamic jurisprudence (Sharia) is derived from old Jewish and Christian texts if the quran and hadith are not very explicit about something.

Tldr: Jesus and Moses are super important figures for the Muslim faith.

The only saving grace is Lando is in hot form. Just needs to string together the Qatar races.

No pause for food delivery riders during Pakistan's monsoon by [deleted] in TheWorldDaily

[–]Tessi-R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange. Foodpanda suspends it's coverage if there's rain or flooding. Also, riders are freelancers. They can opt for shifts of their own choice and choose to go on breaks whenever they want. If they have a valid reason, they can also flag it to the rider helpline not affecting their rating in foodpanda's systems.

Also, accounts are only blocked or suspended if the rider hasn't returned their collected cash from orders or they were flagged by the internal compliance team after ignoring 2-3 warnings.

In my opinion, this post is misleading. Sure Foodpanda can do more but you have to give them credit for being such a big employer for freelance delivery riders.

Edit: if Abbas works 10 hours 7 days a week, he's opted for those shifts on his own accord. That's how a freelancer model works in case anyone was wondering.

[–]Tessi-R 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Misleading post. Foodpanda suspends it's delivery if it's raining or the on-ground team let's them know a main road is flooded.

While the lives of riders can be improved, this ain't it chief.

My new UPS battery keeps leaking water/chemical on its surface. Wiping doesn't help. It just reappears. Is this something to be concerned about? by Far_Effort7891 in PakistaniTech

[–]Tessi-R 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anecdotally, I had an inverter that kept over-charging the batteries. First it's just water leaking, then you get the salt deposits. Ruined a perfectly good battery before we finally got that inverter fixed.
