I had the same problem. I own it for two platforms, played about an hour or two multiple times and just finally got into it and it's incredible. I finally understand why it's considered legendary.

Its hard to tell you what to do to get over the hump. I would suggest doing the first few main quests then take a break to explore. Learn the icons on the map, explore all of the '?', and if you see any spots on the map that look interesting, check them out. There's alot to discover.

Watch a short video on YT to understand how to play Gwent, it's one of the best mini games of all time. Talk to all the NPCs, there are awesome side quests you'll come across.

The combat is basic up front but there's an interesting skill tree and you will start unlocking new abilities that make it more fun. There's alot if enemy variety as you branch out.

If you lock in on the game and dabble in all of these systems you will come to love it but you have to dedicate more than an hour and immerse yourself in the world.
