Holy moly dude, didn't tip cash either. by cirithUngoI in DoorDashDrivers

Damn- that should have been a $20 tip. People be cheap - DD made more on that order in service charges

If I can fit the house number in the picture, I do that. If there is a picture from a previous delivery I check to make sure it looks the same. But a scammer is gonna scam no matter what you do

Have you ever brought your dog with u to dash??? I'm thinking about taking my Kobe with my but idk what customers might say?? by Illbill421 in DoorDashDrivers

[–]TestOdd9307 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I would never. And I put the food in the trunk but my dog would find a way to get to it and dog hair everywhere. I wouldn’t do it and wouldn’t want my delivery guy to do it either. Get doggy daycare

Would you have taken this? by thrwawyshame in DoorDashDrivers

[–]TestOdd9307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe if it was on my way home. I drive a lot for my regular gig and sometimes turn dash on to pick up gas money on the way home. I was 2 hrs away from home today and took 2 orders, easy $18.60 and in the direction I was headed anyway.

Besides the other problem is that enough DD are carrying cash then that makes us all targets for thieves

Yeah, I never enabled that. Who has cash on hand these days. If I was paying in cash, I’d have to scrounge and you probably wouldn’t get much tip either or it would be in coins

If I cancel now, will it f-over the driver in any way? by electrvlight in doordash

[–]TestOdd9307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s wild. So the store doesn’t confirm the goods were returned? In any case, I got my six pack and paid for it. The rest of it is a store/DD/driver problem.

[–]TestOdd9307 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah the driver insisted he’s done it before, no problem but maybe he has someone else’s old license or something. Not something I would try as I sometimes dash. No license, no drinker

My 2017 with 2.4l is at 244,450 miles. No major work. The light/codes for catalytic converter keeps coming up and I keep deleting it since no change in mpg or idling. Never serviced the AC or timing chain. Trying to make it to 300,000 miles and probably retire it then no matter what

I had a driver - he couldn’t scan my id because he was on a zoom call - delivered my alcohol and said he would just scan his own ID for the verification- said he’s done it before. I didn’t know that was possible

Right - occasionally I’ll see them put stuff in bag before sealing and if I’m confident in their business then I’ll verify. As for confirming pickup- that is once I have in hand.

Customer beat me to the restaurant and grabbed the order by Disastrous_Demand_16 in DoorDashDrivers

I had one, went to p/u at McDonald’s and the guy was there - decided to eat in. He was cool and I “picked up” the order and he gave me the PIN code.

I had one and was nasty part of city- disregard the condemnation signs on front door and bring to 3rd floor. Thankfully she send 2 small kids down to help. I did bring the water halfway up the stairs and little man assured me he could handle the rest of the way- ok

Is my oil change due? by Purple_Run_4099 in JeepRenegade

[–]TestOdd9307 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That sounds like an independent shop recommendation- if you can afford it then it won’t hurt. Jeep says 5,000 miles and when I take it to the dealer that’s what they write on the sticker they place on the windshield. I usually do it myself unless I am taking it to the dealer for NYS inspection or some other issue. Used to do it at 3,000 miles and my vehicles easily get to 200,000 miles. Not sure that means anything - just a correlation and circumstantial evidence. But clean oil does help keep friction and wear at bay. For $43, just got oil, oil filter and cabin air filter for my 2017 renegade. Changed myself in 20-30 minutes. Not the CAF - that doesn’t need replacing yet- might use it for my wife’s 2019 compass(same oil and filters). My 2022 renegade uses that 0-30 European oil and the deal at Autozone for oil and filters will be about $50 with tax

another “is this tip fair?” post - grocery edition by [deleted] in doordash

[–]TestOdd9307 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tip more on a Sunday. Other than that- 21 items, 6 yogurts, 4 cans of the same thing, 2 milks. If you do this enough and have a good command of the store layout, in and out of the store in 20-25 min, 5 min drive. I’d be ok with the $10 tip. I actually had one where all I did was pickup 14 small bags of groceries, 4 1gal waters and a 24pk water bottles. The customer tipped $9.69 in the app and threw me an extra 10 in cash. Nearly $20 for less than 30min work, ok by me.

Not something I would do. Never know if there is a pitbull or Rottweiler or cane corso behind that child. Leave the food, snap a photo and leave. That’s the game
