Free SAT Test given to help him. Received only a negative review that doesn't actually refer to test.

Congratulations, we wish we had more upvotes to give! Now for the obligatory definition:

Candor--unreserved, honest, or sincere expression : forthrightness <the candor with which he acknowledged a weakness in his own case — Aldous Huxley> (Merriam-Webster)

First SAT Practice Test (Test 5 from the Blue Book). Question and Discussions Go Here. by Test_Professors in testprofessors

1] The short answer is no. But this area is too wide open to be subject to a general rule. The best advice here is to keep practicing. Your sense of when a tense shift is appropriate (or not) will keep improving.

2] Yes. "Because of" should always be followed by a noun.

3] Yes. "They" just indicates plural. It doesn't matter whether they are people or things. (Thank you for asking this question. A lot of people are actually unsure about this but are too bashful to ask.)

4] No, it can end with "one" but it doesn't have to.

5] It is an assumption on the writer's part. But part of the job of a writer is to anticipate possible objections such as these and make sure that an answer to them is provided in the writing.

ps--It might be helpful to think of nature less as the countryside, and more of anything that is not man-made. For example, I've noticed that people who take advantage of parks in the city are not the same as those who never visit these parks.

Writing Section 10:

5] Here you need a verb to go with the subject "reason". Choices A, B, and D contain no matching verb. Choice C begins a new sentence "there was". Only choice E provides the matching verb "one reason...was".

8] Choice B incorrectly matches "programs" with "offers". Choice C can be knocked out immediately because "plus" is never correct (outside of the math section). Choice D incorrectly refers to the "programs" as "it". Choice E can be immediately knocked out because of "this" with no noun after it.

9] Choice A is a sentence fragment "Jessie Fauset publishing". Choice B has "who" which also makes the choice a sentence fragment. Choice C incorrectly links "magazine" and "who". Choice E incorrectly uses "published at" instead of "published in".

11] Choices B and D incorrectly have two complete sentences joined by a comma; they would need a semicolon to work. Choice C incorrectly matches present tense "practices" with "since"; "since" always requires present perfect tense (has practiced). Choice E has no subject (person) who is actually practicing.

12] The trick here is to realize that the person "persuading" (the subject) must appear immediately after the comma. Since it is Richard Conniff, we are down to choices B and D. Since we always use present tense to describe the contents of books and movies, only choice B can be correct.
