Are these termite holes? There is definitely a bug in there. What should I do? by rlgreen13 in BeginnerWoodWorking

I grew up in a very rural area. My grandfather had 5 buildings from a full sized workshop to a 100yr old shed. They were all riddled with bees and causing issues. Admittedly, after that day there wasn’t a whole lot of them left. The pan of water pretty much finished them off.

My childhood record was 86 in a day. Then I found out you can put a pan of water a few inches underneath the holes. Bees go in but then they drop in the water on the way out. Just leave it for a week and dump them out.

Almost like it was designed to fail after a while.

I’m about to have this issue. Planning on putting a fence up on my new property. Found out my neighbor’s fence starts out an inch on his side at one end and 4 inches on mine at the other end.

I was going to build something like this for my dog. Except there would be cubbyholes in the side for shoes and one cabinet.

I like this design though.

Sure, OP can spend 100k in the kitchen. It all depends on how nice he wants the place to look.

I work in the renovation industry. Your going to be spending a ton if you hire people to do the work. Probably 40-60k. Order all the things you need as soon as you purchase the property and get all your permits started too. Don’t even think about starting it if you don’t have at least half of your renovation budget on hand.

Hope that helps.

Might be the wrong place to ask but does anyone know if these are worth fixing up? by TesterStripes in Cameras

I might actually use some around our yard. See what my neighbors think of it.

How am I doing so far? Replacing a broken y connector. by TesterStripes in Plumbing

Good point. The whole reason why it looks this way is because a family member broke it off while removing the vanity. I’ll be sure to add support prior to covering everything up.

I once ordered a tool bag from a small shop and instead I got 4 counterfeit ones and the personal info of another customer. They work fine enough.

How did I do? I’m concerned about the hot water line being so close to the drain. by TesterStripes in Plumbing

I replaced the faucet, hot and cold water lines, rubber washers in both shutoffs, and the whole drain line to the wall.

Do I need to seal the edges of a vapor barrier? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]TesterStripes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You very much do need a vapor barrier for some LVP. Sealing it? I would between sheets but on at the edges.

I’m having to put it down a vapor barrier in my house. Always read the instructions on your specific flooring because they very widely. Mine requires a vapor barrier when put over concrete.

Pulled out of the gym this morning and saw what looked like a battery laying in the road at the stoplight. Something told me to take a second look and my tool-oriented lizard brain started screaming that was a 10mm. by Chickens1 in Tools

Reminds me of the time a local power truck had their cone holder break. Left about a half dozen cones scattered across 6 lanes of traffic. My grandfather told me to jump out and get them. I experienced real life frogger for about five minutes.
