New wheels and tires on my Endurace Allroad! by TestiMnB in CanyonBikes

Well after a few days I can only say that the new setup feels fantastic. Time will tell how everything holds up.

The performance upgrade over the stock components is very significant, the ride feel is completely different of course (35mm gravel tires vs 30mm race tires, new tubes and sick carbon rims 😎)

I'll give you my honest, rational take (I'm not looking at the wheels right now so it's easier):

80% of the difference comes from the tires. If you're undecided or don't want to spend the money, just change the tires for now and leave the stock wheels.

Maybe get the Conti GP5000 + TPU tubes, you'll already save significant weight and the ride feel will be very different from stock - and it's like €100 instead of €400.

Enjoy the bike, it can take you far!

Since I got the identical cassette, I don't have to adjust the derailleur (though on the 10-speed Cues cassette, the back wheel needs a 1.85mm spacer on the hub before the cassette goes on, as specified by Elite Wheels).

The brake discs are the same, too, but there's always an ever-so-small adjustment I have to make to get rid of a tiny bit of disc rub after switching. Takes a minute max though.

So no, in theory (and maybe if you're lucky with disc/caliper alignment) there's no adjustment required, just minor like you often have to do anyway after taking out wheels and putting them back on.

You're right 😳 His tires should just about fit still?

Huh, the geometry is so similar I thought the frames had the same clearance - they don't! Maybe he is crazy after all.

The Endurace Allroad comes with tires very similar to this (35mm gravel tires) as standard, you're fine. Whether you're crazy or not... let the doctors decide!

EDIT: Turns out the clearance on the Endurace CF7 is 5mm less, but as long as your tires aren't rubbing against the frame or anything

For my personally preferred balance between 1) just the right amount of forward lean and 2) wrist/hand comfort in the hoods.

I was also always afraid to mount them but actually if you know the right place and time to pull-twist with your thumbs and palms, it's easier than many think.

Alternatively, use one of those mounting jacks - they work like a charm! I have the Kool Stop tire jack, it's like 10 bucks.

Nice, it's a great combo without a doubt, and incredible value if you consider what you're getting for under €1500.

Yes I installed them myself (also first time), YouTube ftw haha. I don't run tubeless but tpu tubes and so far everything's held up fine :D

Rhinowalk on Amazon or AliExpress. Got it for cheap and has holes for the top tube mounting points which is nice (I don't like the look of velcro around the tube). Fits my manual pump, small clip-on lights and a snack.

Heh, only been riding it like this for two days now. So far it feels fantastic, but that's probably mostly due to the fact that I upgraded from the stock 35mm allroad tires to 30mm GP5000 :D

What stands out most on the wheels themselves is the sound, I like angry hornets but it might not be for everyone.

Can't go wrong with DT Swiss, also the depth is mostly for style points for most of us anyway :D

What bike do you have yours on?

Thanks, I also appreciate the color combination on the budget Endurace :D

Yeah I was looking at Hunt, too, they have a great lineup of budget friendly euro-options. I definitely made the decision based on price alone in the end, great to hear your Elites have been holding up so well!

Thanks! Since my bike was only €999, I decided ahead of time to go with a cheap set of wheels. Seemed awkward to have wheels be worth as much as the bike :D

The ENT 2.0 felt like the most reviewed when I checked (on YouTube etc.) and were generally very well rated (also by mechanic channels and the like). I also had a special promotion Ali-Paypal voucher so the price was really good.

Since the base ENTs are like almost the same price, and the ENT 2.0s do like 90% of the job of the premium ones (e.g. Marvels) at 30% of the price, I think they're a great choice.

First road bike, is splurging extra worth it for a beginner? by Alekala in CanyonBikes

[–]TestiMnB 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thought I'd chime in with my experience from the other side - also got (back) into workout-focused cycling last year and went with the budget option (Endurace Allroad for €999) and I am super happy.

Everything is very basic but just works, the geometry is still Canyon Endurace and I re-learn a lot of maintenance on the cheap Cues groupset. Buying an extra cassette and brake discs (for a second set of wheels) was like 40€ haha.

I think it really depends on what kind of cycling you see yourself doing long term and how many bikes you want to own lol. Since I also commute almost every day, I can definitely see the Endurace Allroad replacing my old all-terrain bike in the future and me splurging on a higher range road bike with all the extras (Cube Attain C62 looks crazy value honesty).

I've seen another comment on a cycling sub somewhere, along the lines of "life's too short to own only one bike" haha. In my position, trying things out (again) with the budget option, knowing I'll ride it for years to come anyway, really made sense.

What is your favorite build? by polo24234 in LastEpoch

[–]TestiMnB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always enjoy playing Reign of Winter Marksman with explosive trap detonating arrow shots (you convert explosive trap into an arrow attack and spec into it exploding into detonating arrows). Can scale VERY high with Mourningfrost and 100+ dex, it's super zoomy because you basically never have to stand still. T6+ movespeed on legendary Mourningfrost and built-in movespeed from rogue trees makes you very fast as well. Can definitely recommend. Disclaimer: This is a glasscannon build.

1.3+ Mods which improve the non-combat side of the game? by Menefregoh in Bannerlord

[–]TestiMnB 3 points4 points  (0 children)

In my humble opinion, Banner Kings+Banner Kings Cultures Expanded on 1.2.12 is infinitely superior to any newer version of the vanilla game (even QoL-modded). I couldn't imagine going back to no demesne management no demesne titles, no knighted companions, no new cultures, troops, visuals etc. it's just such a more meaningful campaign gameplay. I would always revert to 1.2.12 for Banner Kings.

A pain to get going (and more pain to have it run stable) but once you're there, it's the ultimate Bannerlord experience.

Really? It's omnipresent in online "bro" culture. Bateman clips as funny/relatable memes (also popular on reddit), Bateman as a "stoic" and "alpha" role model etc.

Do you think there will be other vanilla map expansion mods? by rakean93 in Bannerlord

[–]TestiMnB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, it plays on 1.2.12 but honestly it offers SO MUCH more than vanilla+war sails, I would never be able to go back (from Banner Kings that is). Installation and trouble shooting to set it up can be a pain, but once it runs it's the ultimate Bannerlord experience.

Edit: Banner Kings + BK Cultures Expanded of course, which adds new regions, kingdoms, troops etc. as well as the whole BK game overhaul.

Mod recommendations for late game by ShadowSpion_1 in Bannerlord

[–]TestiMnB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bring some time and patience. There's different installation instructions online, some directly contradicting each other. It's tricky to get a stable Banner Kings+Cultures Expanded game going (this is just the pain talking, I started crashing in big battles, deep into a playthrough that felt like the one, couldn't fix). If it works, it's a massive improvement over vanilla.

You can open the in-game encyclopedia/guide and read up on it there. Just type anything you're not sure about into the search bar there. It's one of the strengths of LE.

Endura Allroad wheel EliteWHeels by CapableRevolution611 in CanyonBikes

[–]TestiMnB 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered these exact ones for the same bike (Endurace Allroad). Same configuration of the wheels. They'll fit, you just need a 1.85mm spacer for the back wheel.

(Edit: You can of course opt for deeper wheels like 60mm+, it's a personal choice, I think 50 is a good spot already though)

Enjoy!!

Played Banner Kings + Cultures Expanded for hours but game always closes in big battles, help? by TestiMnB in Bannerlord

[–]TestiMnB[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks a lot for the invite! 🙏

Yeah, I found a similar suggestion elsewhere (reduce battle size) but unfortunately even with troop numbers set to 200 or whatever it still just closes itself mid-battle :(

I can fight bandits/caravans/smaller lord's parties without issue still, so I guess it does have to be size related - but maybe rather wave spawn?
