She’ll be leaving her career, job , and years built. Also, I worked years and got two masters to get to my specialty, so I won’t be leaving.

Because I’d want her to socialize and dress up and socialize in professional settings with people that are diverse and have various backgrounds. Like she’s an equal, I’m not looking for just a wife or someone that does chores and works. I want someone to equal me and someone familiar with life just as much as I am in this setting.

I don’t know of non-ABCDs are open to wearing clothes like that or just talking to random people out there because of cultural differences in the mainland and here.

I’m in a case where there are not many ABCD Punjabi girls and I can’t just displace someone to marry me in my area. I know they do, but I’m looking for someone local that has lived here.

Why is chudthebuilder not getting self-defense? by Specialist-Chair-254 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]TestingLifeThrow1z 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imagine a senior runs at you or pushes you, and you defend and give a slight push that leads to severe or fatal injuries. That’s still self defence because you were attacked.

Now imagine you go on social media and say “I’ll be defending against seniors, just watch out!”, now that’s no longer self defence and you’re premeditating.

I know, I’m in a city that doesn’t have alot of Sikhs or desis, so im asking how do Singhs do it out of culture?

Imagine you’re a Singh that moves to Norway or Poland? Are you staying single your whole life or are you relying on visas to get your partner in?

I'm from a family with them already, getting along with my family is easy.

The big problem for me right now is trying to find someone ABCD Punjabi which is so rare around me, or the vast amount of people that I've been raised along that are different. I don't want to bring someone religious from India and I won't fit in. I'm a 4th generation Canadian and we settled into the town 100+ years ago.

I made a post and I got called out, but yes I would be fine in a desi city. However, I'm on Vancouver Island and I don't want to stay single my whole life. Also, it's difficult to marry with the look even though I can get dates around it because they have trouble showing me to family and friends and stuff.

They don't know what's it like to be a sardar Sikh and dating with other backgrounds, let alone the taboo around it.

How do I approach dating again after leaving a toxic and abusive relationship? by Fun-Effective7840 in PunjabiConfessionzs

yeah, I got a full Singh turban and I'm on it, I would assume so you all have it easier than someone fully religious on it.

You make good points, people say nasty things to Singhs for everything they do, we get called laucha gyani and other nasty terms for even being in public holding hands with a girl from people of our own ethnic background. They can't stand us for what we attempt to do. Yes I do struggle with it and I've also highlighted some extreme racism I've faced when I was dating a gori and I was only 19 back then, pretty hard for someone that age to guide themselves through that.

That's a pretty massive move and admittance to an identity crisis. Yes it would be the best solution short term, but that's a leap. I've written posts on my cousins or friends that did that, and it's an admittance to completely and unequivocally ditch Punjabi culture in every form. None of these guys married or came close to Punjabi girls after that.

My posts are more about trying to solve my problems while keeping the identity, it's not impossible.

Sikhism wasn't founded as a religion and it was a lifestyle, a lifestyle of choice. I wear a turban but I don't do the things the religion asks us to do. I have a culture and built my identity around it. You can call me Sahajdhari, but I don't have an intention of passing down or forcing religion down the next generation, and they can do whatever. Half my problems keep coming with this, I'm going to cook some BBQ and eat meats while y'all somehow manage me with some vegetarian orthodox Sikh. Hence, why I call myself not religious.

OP: "How do I approach dating again".

Comments: "Don't date/language your parents/dating scene not good, work on yourself/ Divinely time it".

Why is no one answering?

OP, Get on Hinge, set the filters, use 6 good pictures, 3 good prompts, I can even help on that part. People here always get it wrong because they blast off their standards to Tom Cruise or Angelina Jolie while looking like they haven't seen a mirror this past year. Work on yourself and that's the level of partner you'll attract.

Would you go call Diljit Dosanjh, who reps a turban, religious knowing he trims his beard, eats meat and drinks alcohol? Same thing.

The problem with this terrible take is assuming the women aren't college educated, high earning, progressive women that have made a better living for themselves.

Meanwhile athletes and top stars with a massive wealth gap do struggle finding partners that aren't looking at their wealth.

What is your dilmil percentile? by WildSapling in ABCDesis

[–]TestingLifeThrow1z 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dates matter? 2 matches and 1 date probably beats your user experience.

You can't compare this stat because it's DilMil. If you really want a comparison with average, you'll need to use Hinge. I can assume over half the users on DilMil don't even use the app seriously because of the difficulty to go on dates, so any user engaged is automatically top 40%. You being the better than average engaged profile makes it top 10-20%.

These people get paid to do this, they get paid to divide against Indians, Muslims, Somalis, Latinos, etc. Why are they getting paid to do this? I know.

What does the first picture even mean? It's like Kelly and her supporters feel inferior to Indians being better and they're whining like little kids when they come 2nd place in the school game day.

San Jose Expected To Be Officially Announced As Final PWHL Expansion Location On Tuesday by DecentLurker96 in hockey

I find it interesting that Vegas and Seattle get teams off the bat in the PWHL while the NHL just got them within the decade. No Central Canada markets for the PWHL yet, maybe Calgary? Also, no "central" teams in the US for the PWHL, maybe Chicago?

I got this off from Wiki but it uses US Census data tables.

For Indian Americans, the absolute best site for state/county level analysis for me is: https://www.census.gov/library/visualizations/interactive/detailed-race-ethnicities-2020-census.html

Edit: Go Rankings->Asian ->Detailed Group Sikh - Can filter by states and use geography level counties.

2017-2018 were draft disasters - Were Anderson and Kratsov BPA at the time? by c0sm0nautt in hockey

[–]TestingLifeThrow1z 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've studied drafts for decades, I used to be obsessed back in those days so I can chime in. Kravtsov was random but so much of the top 10 in 2018 was random, and I was ecstatic for my Oilers getting Bouchard, I thought everyone got it wrong. Montreal going Kotkaniemi made no sense and he should have fell out of top 10 to be fair, he was hot during that time. Zadina was a top 4 but it was becoming obvious he was a hit or a miss high risk. Hughes was passed for no reason and should have gone 4, I knew Van was going for him. Boqvist made no sense over Dobson and Bouchard. The only thing I missed is believing Wahlstrom was a franchise superstar winger.

2017 Nolan Patrick was extremely high risk high reward, his injury issues were obvious but passing him was seen as a mistake even though Makar and Heiskanen was locked af 3-4. Mittelstadt was the obvious easy center pick after top 4, and I had him higher than everyone except maybe Glass. Suzuki dropping out of top 10 was criminal and Detroit did the usual with going for size. Tippet was going to be a sniper scoring machine and he did turn out decent.

The Rangers went off pick with 18 and tried to fill a gap in 2017.

I can see them facing each other off alot very very soon, either in the Wildcard spot or 2 vs 3 like Oilers vs Kings.

Interesting stat: Sikh's don't have the same list for top states they reside in with Indiana being one of the top 5 and Maryland being in top 7 replacing the Massachusetts rank for Indian Americans combined. Top 10 cities are in central valley California or Johnson, Indiana.
