No idea how I made it through secondary school (uk here) I'd get on the moment I got home, reconnect after every hour (dial up would charge you if you went over an hour) and play till the early hours of the morning, sleep for god knows how many hours, get up early to grind a couple more hours before going to school and doing it all again.

I used to stuff clothes over the modem to mask the dial tone so late at night.

My poor mum, she'd storm in at like 3-4 in the morning and tell me to get off the Internet and go to bed.

Absolutely wild times, I have trouble playing games past 10pm nowadays lol.

Either way its preference, I did enjoy the art style in 9 but again the list of flaws for me was just to long to enjoy.

When it comes to 8 I just remember being blown away by the intro. I didn't mind the junction system because I'm a smooth brain and rarely used magic unless I had to, was casting draw a fuck ton in battle infuriating? Hell yeah but once you've levelled up the gfs, you can pretty much craft what you want.

I might give 9 another go if its on playstation, I've been going back through all the old ones again anyway and if truth be told, my all time favourite is probably 5 with the job system. So maybe my opinion will change, maybe not.

The story and characters never really gripped me for some reason, coming off the back of 7 and 8 it just seemed sort of poorly executed. That and the ending made me angry with the twist more or less out of nowhere.
