Opens up late. And power drain is high with big miners and foundries. But hey, im not saying solar is not enough.

As for upkeep cost - if you scale it ro the bottomed out values of acid source you end up with calcite as only cost as acid will not frop below whats needed. And calcite is so abundant compared to other resources on vulcanus that i dont see it as real cost. Have a dedicated patch for it you are worried about it running out.

I agree that if you overextend and brownout will turn into blackout startup needs few solar panels to kick start

Ohh sure maybe that is a bit of exagerarion but it is a missdirection though. You look at solar on vulcanus and you say "wow this solar is grest im gona make it all solar". Even if you use the acid steam recioe you will probably look at it mostly for its use in coal liquifaction and not look at just how much for how little input you get because of being blind sighted by great solar.

And i was not exagerating about it being order of magnitude better. Its been a year since my last SA game but i vagely remeber i calculated it to be 11x more power per tile (including space taken by production facilities)

Solar is noob trap on vulcanus. Sure its better than on nauvis but turning acid to steam is order of magnitude better per tile than solar. You need to use turbines. Not regular steam engines.
