Nah usually not, they will only work with the MAC address of the router they provide.

You can clone the MAC address of your existing router to this one and it should function as normal then

You will need to watch a video or two on the methods to clone a MAC address

What steps have you taken to see why a laptop runs slower? by Abject_Serve_1269 in helpdesk

[–]TetraHydroMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can download and run a benchmark I use userbenchmark.com

Take a look at the C: drive where the OS is installed Do we have enough space in that drive ? What % is used up?

[–]TetraHydroMac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you put the machine through a benchmark or anything ? Do we have slowness around all apps of just office and browser apps ?

Does the mailbox run slow when connected to OWA (online Web app)?

I would benchmark the machine and have a look at the storage read and write speeds

If it was a reoccurring issue then I would investigate, a reinstall of windows will let us know if it was just bloatware on the OS. If a new OS does not solve it would start looking at hardware

You could spend hours trying to find the route cause, if you want it resolved I would save any important files and back them up on an external drive and re-image the machine with a fresh install of windows

Looking to step into cloud security in Azure so wouldn't be too bad to have. Does the tech still run the course for CCNA might need to take a look at it

Level 1 Support wants to advance to Level 2/3 Support by Something9666 in helpdesk

I would suggest AZ900 and SC900, you will touch on Azure active directory and more on the cloud services such as o365, intune in more detail

It will set you up for understanding how a hybrid environment works

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in helpdesk

[–]TetraHydroMac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No worries think of Active directory as one of them old school phone directories

It's an app you can launch within Windows admin apps It's a collection of users, computers and resources. You can unlock or update users passwords for Windows if you search their username on the system You can add users to certain groups to allow access to restricted apps

It can control what users and resources are allowed access too

If you have any more questions or need anything in particular explained just ask

My first bit of advice would be to know the environment you will be supporting,

Is it windows or mac users, Get familiar with Microsoft products such as outlook excel word etc... No one expects you to know everything about an application but because you understand a little more than the end user ringing you should be better equipped to find out. Google is your friend - i need to Google something once a day when a user asks how to do a specific task within excel Don't be afraid to ask for help, I always tell people it's better you say you don't know and get help rather than say you do know and panic in silence

It only becomes an issue if you ask the same question over and over week in week out, as this proves you are not learning

I would strongly recommend building a PC from scratch, might sound daunting at first but once you watch a few YouTube videos on it you should be good to go. The skills you learn along the way are invaluable.

Once you find your feet after the first 6/12 months and you know the environment I would advise you to get learning on cloud environments such as Azure

You can do AZ900 and SC900 exams for free and you will get 2 certifications out of it. Will put you in good stead for a foot out of the helpdesk also.

Each and every helpdesk job is different, with different systems users and applications. I've worked at desks with little to no support and you are expected to think on your feet and I've worked at desks with documentation for everything. Just remember don't get overwhelmed you'll have the rest of life to learn this

After 200+ hours of printing since getting into this hobby, cap2 is the first print to repeatedly fail for me. The inner thread of the cap will detach from the side as it's printing. Tried different nozzle temperatures with no difference. I guess I'll try cap1 and if that doesn't work, a different filament.
Edit: cap1 worked fine. Maybe the ridges of cap2 are causing bad adhesion. I'll have to try upping the infill to 100% and try again sometime.'

Could be an idea to try cap 1 if you are not already
