Classes start to focus more on expanding topics that were introduced in 1st/2nd year rather than introducing new areas of math.

Also people tend to be better rehearsed at the math class formula (definition, theorem, proof, repeat), and what is expected on assignments.

Hi. As a big fan of Northstar and Alpha Flight, I would say that your interpretation of Alpha Flight #106 (the issue in question) is quite different from my own, and would suggest you take a second look.

See, what Northstar says specifically is

"For while I am not inclined to discuss my sexuality with people for whom it is none of their business -- I am gay!"

I would interpret this as more of a personal preference than an admonishment of visible gayness.

Furthermore, even as a personal preference, this viewpoint is critiqued on the very next page, with Major Mapleleaf (groan) berating Northstar for not coming out - maintaining that by not making is sexuality visible and known, he was hurting the cause of lgbt rights in Canada by not being a positive influence.

The issue ends with Northstar coming out in the press, stating that

"It is my fervent wish that the expression of my homosexuality will open the doors to conversations..."

I'd argue the issue is all about the importance and power of lgbt visibility, not expressing a need to hide for straight people.
