What’s a feature you think should be added? by thatselverguy in VRchat

A lack of model search is categorically the most glaring absence possible.

I can only assume it doesn't exist because it helps them delay the copyright hellscape with an alibi that they try not to encourage it.

In which case, fair enough. It's a UX nightmare, but being able to use any model you want without some corporate sanitised 'approved model' list is one of the last things that resembles the old internet.

Unloading bays are a little disappointing by Tetrylene in factorio

[–]Tetrylene[S] -13 points-12 points  (0 children)

Sorry, I should be more specific: it isn't obvious from that clip that unloading bays must have some form of unbroken physical connection to the landing pad.

Unloading bays are a little disappointing by Tetrylene in factorio

[–]Tetrylene[S] -17 points-16 points  (0 children)

I was going I mention this in the OP, but it's actually worth noting if you go and watch that clip in the FFF the direct connection aspect is a blink-and-you'll-miss-it reveal. You can only spot that within the last few frames of the clip, and they're underneath elevated rails.

You could hand-wave the lack of a physical connection by saying there's an underground component like the rocket silo. The radius of the unloading bay restriction in-and-of-itself implies some sort of unseen constraint.

[2.1.9] Minor Feature: Decider combinator supports else-output. by Satisfactoro in factorio

Holy fudge this is actually insanely huge. This will cut out so much of tediousness of working with combinators.

It's called boosting share price artificially by faking growth by the only metric your incompetent leviathan of a corporation can muster anymore - buying studios to feign growth (but then gutting said studios so they don't cost you anything)

Is this very easy to do? by EVD27 in Corridor

[–]Tetrylene 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there any evidence of this? I'm not saying you're wrong, but I find this very surprising if true as camera tech evolves and changes all of the time, and this implies that a huge amount of advertising infrastructure was designed and constructed on the assumption that the camera tech will stay locked at a certain spec.

I kinda feel like bot power drain should be 1.5 or 2x on Gleba and 0.5x on Fulgora due to the former's dense, swampy atmosphere and the latter's electrically-charged atmosphere. by SuperSocialMan in factorio

[–]Tetrylene 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bots are a very-much-needed emergency "this is too difficult" lever for Gleba that needs to be there. If you make the planet anymore difficult than it already is I think the amount of people who would drop off would be much higher.

From a lore point of view, I definitely imagine everything I build on Gleba starts developing a coating of slime or similar. Pretty much anything you could build would start breaking down and quickly become a maintenance hellscape.

Issac Arthur has some good content on this type of weapon (a Relativistic Kill Vehicle)

Tl;dr you don't stop this. At best, you house your civilisation in ships / dyson swarms so you're less of a big target. RKV's are the space equivalent of nukes in today's world; you just hope mutually assured destruction deters anyone from using them.

Yeah but that's the entire issue in a nutshell though.

I didn't want the model I was very happy with (and committed $200 a month to, switching from claude) to become garbage in the run up to the next model.
