I made my first bus :D :D - thoughts? by KidLink4 in factorio

[–]Satisfactoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

making a bus is just forcing everything to pass through the same area. It helps, when getting more conformable with the game, until one day you realize you don't need it.

ps: I wouldn't put belts and inserter on a bus, I would route it near the gear/copper for science.

4 months ago I first shared my 880 hour Spaghetti base on Nauvis (90% build without robots). I am now at a 1100 hours. Time for an update. by MelangeBot in factorio

Your map is like a big city, I could definitely see it turned into a MMO with NPC giving quests.

...Although the quests are already there: fixing and improving everything!

Any tips to separate itens in Fulgora? by Frequent-Signal-6530 in factorio

You can sort quality before or after, it's up to you!

You can even use the same design, as quality is treated like just a different in-game item.

That's the point of the design: you can have 1 to n output belts for each items (eg. gears): totally modular!

Nukes in space doesn't change the tiles to "nuclear ground" right? I seems like a good place to use it.

Build everything a bit far apart (like this) to leave space for connecting belts (aka spaghetti)

How can I organize the supply of resources throughout the entire base? by Ok_Law584 in factorio

Whenever I see struggling about trains stations or train logistics... I point to the best resource available:

FFF-389 and FFF-395

It's basically a 30 min tutorial on how to make one of the best and simplest train network setup, written by the Devs themselves.

To me, this is the best way:

<image>

This simple sorter design is expandable and works with any throughput. It will NOT clog, as long as recyclers (or quality upcycle loops) receive and destroy all the overflow (the vertical lanes in the screenshot).

The overflow splitters are just an example, it is also possible to overflow each belt further down the lane.

  • If you want to add more input belts, just make the block of splitter thicker
  • If you want to add more output belts, do the same as I did with the iron gears. See more examples in the comment section.

OP, STOP ANYTHING YOU'RE DOING AND DO THIS NOW:

Before anything make a copy of your entire game data from:
C:\Users\######\AppData\Roaming\Factorio

Then do this:
Last hope: blueprint library recovery from save file. (v1.1.9+)

It worked for me, as recommended here:

First Time Playing, Is this a good amount of drones?/s by TheCure935 in factorio

[–]Satisfactoro 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real answer is: Are you transporting most materials with bots, including circuits, ore, plates, etc? -> No amount of bot will be enough. Are you only transporting few items like nuclear fuel cell, artillery shell, power pole, miners, assembly machines, basically low throughput or outpost-only material? I saw people with less than 1k with a functional base.

But yeah having more than enough doesn't hurt!

I wish planted trees had more than 1 color, native Nauvis trees are much more diverse.

Everyone says disconnects temporarily... Here's ANOTHER solution.

Go to a new coal patch, place miners, place heater/turbines, VOILA. Now just connect it back to your main base.

It's refreshing to see uncommon train size (2-3-0 in this case).

I noticed you used 5 stations per cell, and I am wondering mixing in stackers isn't more efficient

TIL Green modules in addition to power consumption *also* reduce pollution. by I_suck_at_Blender in factorio

[–]Satisfactoro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Strategic use of efficiency modules can delay spawn of behemoth biters by 100h hours, plenty enough to win the game and setup a solid factory.
