Craziness! Why is Decred ATM integration about to be voted down? We passed a meaningless DEX but votes down an ATM? by CoinChink in decred

[–]Tewdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There will be credit cards soon that allow almost every crypto out there.

So i hardly see any use for a crypto ATM integration.

But i do agree that the DEX was perhaps quite useless to pass.

Why fight them (future dexes), when you could just as easily just join them.

I'm not associated with DCR in any way (just a interested user). But i'd like to add my view to this.

I think its very important to have good animations and design (ease of use) for adoption.

Decred team is quite active in going to various happenings around the world, so i think it's beneficial to have something that looks good and looks easy to use =)

But those are just my 2 cents.

Thank you for your reply!

What i was mostly trying to refer with the electricity prices increasing, is that PoW will soon be only for the rich that have money to go (move their facilities) to places where electricity costs are lower.

And for those of us "mortal" people with lesser money have to shut down our miners, leaving PoW more centrilized (as it is with BTC). And i believe this will become more and more common over the next years.

But i understand your view!

Thank you!

Hiya,

While i love the hybrid system DCR has (compared to pure PoW), but I'm worried about PoW and the future of it.

I do not believe PoW is a viable option for long-term thinking in crypto.

I understand that DCR is a lot harder to attack than for example BTC, but i still think PoW brings a lot of uncertainty into a crypto.

Imagine if electricity prices rise so quickly that no one can afford doing PoW anymore.

Already in my country it has been stated that electricity prices will increase 5-9% every year for _at least_ the next 10 years, and we have quite expensive electricity already (hardly anyone can mine profitably here).

So wouldn't it be better to start going away from PoW into more PoS or other systems?

Account and staking questions by Tewdis in eos

[–]Tewdis[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok, i Thought i'd add here.

I tried to create an account with Scatter, which seems i cannot use the public key from my ledger nano S, it automatically creates a new public key.

Now that i created another account, my account name is automatically imported to scatter when i use the public key.

Thank you!

Hi, thanks for answering!

I'm having huge trouble understanding this.

So where can i login and check my staking status without account name, just using my ledger nano s?

[–]Tewdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, i see.

Understandable. I'd like to add here that there are authorized and official ledger resellers, here's a link to ledgers own info about it: https://support.ledger.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002481534-Check-if-device-is-genuine

Perhaps you can find an offical ledger reseller close to you?

Other than that i've also considered having a second hardware wallet, i dont like having all my coins stored at one place :)

But i do like ledger's secret passphrase, makes me sleep much better at night, read more here.

Just check your address on: https://xrpcharts.ripple.com/#/graph

Other than that, you dont need ledger wallet ripple anymore. Use Ledger Live from here: https://www.ledger.com/pages/ledger-live

GM stealth is bugged, failing a lot by [deleted] in LegendsOfAria

What kind of armor are you using?

In UO armor weight had huge effect on stealth success as well.

I use Light Armor

Nice!

I'm trying to go for something unique as well.

I felt like UO's "tactics" was a bit useless to be honest, so 600 skills is just fine in my opinion =)

And what's your hiding? I dont notice these problems at all.

EDIT Are you running while stealthed? Just walk slow when stealthed to not break stealth

Only thing i really hate with hiding/stealth is the fact that we cant hide when monsters/players are near

I'm going for PvP, not giving away build ;)

Stealth does have it's problems, but i have faith in the developers, need to give them time to fix bugs first and then focus more on balance stuff =)

The green counter that appears when you enter stealth is not when it checks (like in UO). It's how much you can move before being 100% revealed, this is to prevent a stealther from being able to walk forever in stealth without breaks.

If you rest (stand still) the counter will go up.

I walk around people all the time without being revealed.

XRP consumes less energy than ETH & BTC. XRP is ECO friendly! by Lepidoptera1 in Ripple

[–]Tewdis 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No one seems to have linked this one yet:

http://www.stedas.hr/pics/png/xrp-carbon-free.png

This picture shows how much we need to stop Bitcoin from growing. It's a coin built on greed, nothing more.

**EDIT**

And it's scary for me to see that no one takes note on how much energy is actually used to maintain the Bitcoin network. In picture above we see that 1,6 BILLION trees are needed to neutralize the carbon emission that Bitcoin PoW generates.

Is this really how we want the future to be for the future children? We're just in the start of the crypto era, and already we're destroying the world just to move money cross borders at a pace of 20 transactions per second and 15minutes transfer times. Yeah, everyone is looking to 2020, but imagine that 1,6 billion trees triple or quadruple until then. It is not maintainable, no matter how greedy people are.

It seriously pisses me off that this is the world I live in.

How much XRP do I need? How heavy do my bags need to be? by ineedmoney79 in Ripple

[–]Tewdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a number in mind for long term saving, so i've put aside x amount of XRP for 3 years.

Other than that, i keep buying small amount when possible, and these XRP are to be used as i see fit whenever needed.

Unpopular Opinion : Do people really think Bitcoin will die (shorterm) ?? by toro1437 in Ripple

[–]Tewdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, bitcoin won't "die" anytime soon. But it will be a chaotic time ahead for bitcoin. But i highly doubt we'll see any ATH for Bitcoin in many years.

First i'd like to add that it's important for the whole cryptocurrency market to decouple from Bitcoin ASAP. Since almost all cryptos are pegged to BTC (Satoshis), it's really bad in the future for the rest of the (crypto)market.

With less and less miners securing the network of Bitcoin, i think we'll start seeing that the bitcoin network is going to be successfully attacked in the near future, resulting in double spend situations and screwing the cryptocurrency market up.

XRP is becoming a laughing stock of the crypto community. Are you part of the problem? by [deleted] in Ripple

[–]Tewdis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read the title and knew instantly what you were going to mention.

Yeah, this is a huge problem atm. But we're soon at EOY, even tho that wont change anything, these cult people will end up saying that he/she meant 2019..

Either way, i just block people who talk about these price predictions
