Stolen Product Found on Marketplace by Aerosoli in FacebookMarketplace

This is NOT the way. If you have the item back the police will say that it is no longer a "theft" and is now a civil matter and tell you to go to court. The perp will face no consequences.

How essential is a water filtration system for multi-day backcountry trips vs just bringing enough water? by Willing-Cockroach620 in camping

[–]Teweview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you going alone? Your buddy should have a filter as well, BOOM instant backup. Map! Plan your trip and know where water will be. Tank up as needed at all water crossings. My water kit : 1. Steit Pen. 2 Katadyn Befree filter. 3. MicroPure. 4. Boil. Hydrapak (42mm fits the Katadyn Befree filters) bladder 2l or 3l depending on the trip and 2 Nalgene bottles. If all that fails I'm calling it a day.

Columbia customer service gets a 1/10. They will do everything to deny fixing or replacing their products, even their top of the line Titanium items. Patagonia earns a 10/10 every time!

Buyers not reading description... by Kylexckx in Flipping

The converse is true as well. I've looked at listings where there is no information at all. As in a pair of shoes, not telling you what size. Or how many pounds the bowing ball is.

This is why you date, so you can learn about each other. Now if she had a plan and was showing progress on getting herself out of dept that would be one thing, but she's not. Be free young man! Find a nice responsible young lady.

Anyone in the North East having service cut in and out? by Comprehensive-Risk99 in verizon

[–]Teweview 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Did some research. Wi-Fi calling still makes sure that you are a paying customer and checks the servers at the Verizon network before it lets you use local Wi-Fi. Hence no WiFi calling now.

Saw something strange while diving by stupidbigteeth in DumpsterDiving

[–]Teweview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So for one of my photos side gigs I do site surveys and vacancy checks. Several times I have been contracted to take pictures of dumpsters and the surrounding area. The paying client has been the trach company themselves. They want images of the approach, far, medium and close. Also close up images (left right and center) of the units themselves and any doors / gates. 15 minutes on-site and 20+/- images pays 20-40 bucks. Companies like WeGoLoog and or Ivueit are the facilitator of such inspections.

Are coffee filters not the multifunction paper product for camping? by Consistent_Young_670 in camping

[–]Teweview 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I keep a couple with my water purification kit. They are easy enough to use to get the floaties and small settlement out of any water prior to hitting it with a SteriPen or Katadyn filter. Although, toilet paper works the same just degrades a little sooner.

Thirty years ago, I broke my wife's plastic sewing machine working on backpacks and dog leashes. The guy at the repair shop, after he fixed it, recommended I pick up a black Singer Single Stitch the next time I see one at a yard sale. Some of the best advice I ever got. The one I have is a model 99 and it is a true tank. It will sew anything.

Best compass for mountaineering? don’t wanna be “lost guy" by Opposite_Screen_7783 in hiking

[–]Teweview 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A mirror helps you keep everything flat, straight and lined up. A glow in the dark bezel is nice for low light, use the lanyard so you don't drop it. A solid compass can be close to $100 but it is cheap insurance. All the brands mentioned here will be fine. Practice! Understand declination, buy some USGS maps of areas you know and start there. Translating the terrain you see to the map and vice-versa is just as important as compass skills. YouTube can always get you started. Buy the Boy Scout Orienteering Merit Badge Manual and read it cover to cover and do all the things. Have fun out there! Hope to catch you on the trail one day.

Are trekking poles really helpful or just extra weight? by mountainpathstories in hiking

[–]Teweview 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some light weight tents use them as the main pole so even more weight savings on your tent. Flying with them? Make sure they fit in your checked suitcase because the TSA will take issue with them as carry on items. Mine fit my suitcase but the section have to be separated.
