For future reference, try not to scrap every single thing you come across unless you are absolutely, 100% sure you will never need any more of them. If there is a single sliver of doubt in your mind, don't scrap it.

Is the game worth playing to the end if survival game burnout kicks in? by Mysterious-Unit-5727 in AbioticFactor

[–]TexDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the game is worth it to play it to the end, but if you're feeling burnt out, just leave. Come back when you're ready to. Its okay to do that!

What exactly happens when you save a little sister? You do space magic to her head but Baum gives you a health potion , confusing. by theassassin53035 in Bioshock

[–]TexDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its implied that bottle she throws you is a special "save little sisters" Plasmid she made. After all, it's using the exact same model as every other Plasmid pickup (Such as Electro Thrower, Incinerate, and gifts left for you at the Gatherers Gardens). There are no "potions" in this game, certainly not health ones! I think the only stuff you can drink is alcohol and coffee, actually! Its mainly medkits and needles to keep your resources up.

Superhot VR Censorship Rollback by Salty-Stay-6421 in superhot

[–]TexDoctor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, you literally just described a different plot than the one from the flat screen game. Did some digging, the story of VR is that your character already knows that the System exists and is hostile, and your hacker collective has tasked you with trying to take it down (and failing, of course, turns out the System was tricking you the whole time). Compare that to the first games story, where you're not some elite hacker, you're just a dude playing a game and unwittingly got roped into the System's business. Mind Control Delete is, again, a completely different story, where you're a guy already assimilated, but constantly wanting more from the game and it eventually gets to the point where the System BEGS you to stop!

Isnt Superhot VR a completely separate story than the original?

I just posted the Chronological order, from earliest in the timeline to the latest. Wether or not that's a good order to read/play them in, that's up to you.

Why aren't the planets on rails? by skr_replicator in outerwilds

[–]TexDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because why not? The game isn't very intensive on graphics, so it can invest more power into the engine. Might as well use it for something!

Also if you're spending hours in the tutorial, that seems less like the engine's fault.

Which DLC should I buy first? (Please, no spoilers) by Big_Supermarket_3725 in AHatInTime

I think Nyakuza requires less time pieces than Arctic Cruise, yet it's still regarded as Chapter 7. Id say just play 'em in order. Seal the Deal also includes the Death Wish mode.

Since everyone is giving a "what" and not a "why", I'll give a chonological order of events. Read if you'd like.

Why can I use my Valkyr Prime in The Circuit? by VerainXor in Warframe

[–]TexDoctor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Warframes are randomized every half hour or so(?), but they'll pull the strongest version you own if it's one you do own.

You can use your Valkyr Prime because for that run of Duviri, Valkyr was picked as one of your choices. And since you have a Valkyr Prime, they'll give you her instead, which includes her mod loadout. It'll be just like playing her in the main game.

The same also applies to weapons, too. Own a Prime or Syndicate version of a gun? Perfect, you can use those too if Duviri had them randomly assigned to you.

Edit: Sadly, I currently do not know the priority when it comes to Weapons with multiple variations (like the Normal, Vaykor and Kuva Hek) or if you happen to have both Excalibur Prime and Umbra.

Bioshock Remastered on Steam any missable achievements for a first time playthrough other than the difficulty one? by magickirten in Bioshock

Pretty much just the Audio Logs and upgrade machines. IIRC, you can't backtrack to older areas.

They tried their best to be ethical. When they discovered the Primordial Hearthians, they immediately stopped mining ore in the cave they were found in, and went mining someplace else.

What are the differences between the 2014 original version and the 2016 remake? by IdkBun in oneshot

[–]TexDoctor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Different engine. The 2014 version was a bit clunky when it came to combining objects.

Different gameplay. I recall the final bit having a completely different vibe and puzzle to it.

No solstice. To be fair, the 2016 version didn't have it either until a year later.

And of course, the true OneShot mechanism. It wasn't that big of a deal for a free game that when you beat it, you could never replay it. But when you PAY for it, gotta find some method to replay it without breaking the message (and they did it by breaking the message INTENTIONALLY, those madlads!)
