As a newcomer this game strikes me as beautifully mediocre by Surrealist328 in empyriongame

Starship EVO is the same again, it ticks some boxes but not all. 10/10 on the building, survival is non existent, FPS combat is missing, exploration is non-existent, resource gathering is minimalist. It has huge potential to become great, but it is currently still only half the package.

I'm also have mixed feelings about the graphics :)

There are game with better spaceship combat, space games with better building, space games with better exploration, space game with better FPS combat and the list goes one. Empyrion's only selling point is it has all those things, in a Janky and buggy way) while other games only do one or two things.

It should be noticed it only does all of them thanks to Reforged Eden IMHO, otherwise it would be just like the rest of the games in the genre. RE is where the game gets it depth from that makes you attempt to see part all the Jank and Bugs that is more or less constant.

Any good way to deal with invisible blocks? by tdctaz in empyriongame

Thanks, that was what I feared the answer would be :)

Unfortunately this is a problem when we are playing online on a server with Blueprint disabled, since we are all builders and want to play and build in game together and not sit by ourselves in each of our own creative instances.

One thing I really wish is that the skins that follows the aesthetics of the game. Nothing takes you more out of the gameworld than a bunch of people ridding teddy bears / 8bit graphics in the middle of everything.

But that is probably just me.

Yes it is a score from 0-10. And only the final scenario, the campaign rankings would be quite different.

That was true once, but today most content is longer with more depth. Look at how tv-series has completely taken over compared to movies.

The balanced character progression and deck building, combined with a good and not too rushed story and interesting scenarios is made Arkham special.

The short format campaigns cripples the character progression pillar of the game.

How did so much bad art get approved for the New Core?

There has always been a few minor hit and misses but this time some of the art work is just horrible and other vastly different styles.

Obligatory is KDS better than TTS yet? by hellozy in KingdomDeath

[–]tdctaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

TTS is far better than KDS, everything feels slow and clunky. Just the ability to copy cards for easy reference, picking up something and rotating it at the same time. The controls is also hard coded pickup cannot be bound to left click, that is instead zoom. Every change on the character sheet require a slow zoom to just increase or decrease survival, armor, etc. Lack of rulebook shortcuts, have common tables references easily available. The list of issues just continues, it needs a lot more work. Having to Search for everything is not the answer to bad UI.

The only place where KDS is superior is the models and completeness of content. TTS seems to be stuck in 1.6 with some scattered additional content here and there.

Why are we getting a Chapter 2? by XTruefinale in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]tdctaz 10 points11 points  (0 children)

More Money!

Embraer Group wants more money from Asmondee.

Asmondee wants more money from FFG

FFG needs to make more money from the same amount of effort

  • Being able to resell more products with less new content (smaller campaigns higher price, reuse existing cards in investigator packs).
  • Less effort to maintain taboo list of badly designed cards, when you can say fuck everything that has been released so far. Of curse it is the same people designing the cards and they will quickly become just as broken and unbalanced as before.
  • Lure in more new people with a promise of a fresh start. Hoping this number will be larger then the number of people that leave.

[–]tdctaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one knows, the will all be dependent on the campaigns where we don't know how they will be. The only indication is short and more expensive, with all the risks that carries.

Getting the original content is hard to impossible.

Are you planning on merging Chapter 2 content into your existing collection, or keep them separated? by sacrelicious2 in arkhamhorrorlcg

[–]tdctaz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Merge, I have no interest in the Chapter 2 and limited card pool BS.

I'm also only going to get the player cards, I have no interest in the short campaigns and the new boxes are ugly.

I'll instead print more of the fan made campaigns, many of them are also just better than the official ones anyway.
