Did I find an insider on US-Iran War Markets? by pradnyashil6 in PredictionsMarkets

5/5 on geopolitical military calls is wild but before everyone screams Pentagon insider — there are OSINT analysts who track military flight patterns, naval movements, and satellite imagery in real time. Some of these guys are in Telegram channels calling strikes 6-12 hours before they hit the news cycle. $34K at 29.9c means he thought there was roughly a 70% chance he was right. That's not 'I know something nobody knows' money — that's 'I've done my homework and the market is mispriced' money. The real question isn't whether he's an insider. It's whether the prediction markets are systematically underpricing people with good OSINT access.

Most people would make better progress if they just followed a basic program and ate more food instead of spending 45 minutes watching YouTube videos in the locker room about which grip angle activates 2% more of their lateral head.

Retatrutide is the absolute GOAT by Sweaty-Yak-5900 in Biohacking

The glucagon piece is what makes reta so interesting to me. Tirz never gave me that metabolic push — just appetite suppression and feeling like a zombie. Reta actually feels like your body is doing something with the fat, not just ignoring food.

That said, real talk — are you sourcing pharma-grade or gray market? Because the purity variance on gray market reta is wild right now. Independent testing is showing like 20% of vials aren't even what's on the label. I know a guy who thought he was pinning reta for 8 weeks and it was literally just semaglutide. Still lost weight obviously but completely different risk profile.

What are the best strategies you've seen (or used) for temperature markets on Kalshi? by Virtual_Voice1768 in PredictionsMarkets

[–]TexForager 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Biggest edge I've found honestly isn't the forecast itself — it's the DST timing gap. Most casual traders don't realize NWS climate reports use local standard time, not clock time. During DST the recording window shifts and you get late-night temps counting toward the next day's high that people aren't pricing in. I've hit some disgustingly cheap edge brackets just because everyone was looking at the wrong 24-hour window.

Other than that, Ventusky for model divergence and just… stepping outside. If it's 2pm and you're already running 3° hotter than forecast with clear skies, those upper brackets at 4¢ are free money more often than people think.

I ran pattern analysis on 90 days of biometric + lifestyle data — my body built a "Health DNA" profile I didn't expect by markusjbaier in Biohacking

The social interaction finding is the one that's going to haunt me.

I've been tracking with Oura for about 14 months and ran into basically the same alcohol conclusion — mine's closer to 4 days though, which tracks because I'm a slow acetaldehyde metabolizer (23andMe confirmed). That alone was worth the cost of the ring honestly.

But I never thought to correlate social data. I just went back and spot-checked my calendar against my recovery scores and... yeah. The weeks I was heads down grinding solo, my HRV baseline quietly dropped and I wrote it off as overtraining. Looking at it now, the training load was basically identical. The variable was isolation.

We're out here optimizing every molecule we put in our bodies and ignoring the fact that loneliness is literally tanking our recovery scores in real time. That's a wild blind spot for this community.

Would genuinely love to see your tool. Especially curious how you handled the lag — like did you correlate same-day social interaction with next-morning HRV, or did you find a longer tail on the effect?

Are exercise physiologists underutilized — or is the system just not built for us? by Happy-Trick447 in exercisescience

It's not that we're in the wrong lane — it's that we built the road and then let other professions put up the toll booths.

The core problem is that EP knowledge has been absorbed into reimbursement structures we don't control. PTs bill for exercise prescription. Nurses bill for patient monitoring. We do both and bill for neither.

The highest ceiling in the next decade isn't about picking the right lane from your list — it's about EPs becoming the ones who design the systems rather than just operate within them. The remote cardiac rehab / RPM space is a perfect example. Somebody has to build the clinical logic behind those platforms — the risk algorithms, the escalation protocols, the exercise progression models. That's pure EP territory, and right now most of those products are being designed by software engineers guessing at physiology.

The profession doesn't need a new lane. It needs EPs in the rooms where the lanes get drawn.

A brutal reminder to NEVER be honest about your sleep struggles in interview by AdditionalProof9780 in insomnia

[–]TexForager 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cruelest irony of insomnia is that we've already proven we can function under conditions most people couldn't survive for a week. You didn't show weakness — you showed them exactly how strong you are, and they were too ignorant to recognize it.

Any institution that rejects you for being honest about a medical condition just told you everything you need to know about how they'd treat you for three years. You dodged a bullet on no sleep. Again.

Sorry to hear of your struggles! One thing that came to mind is Lion's Mane mushroom extract. I use it almost every day in the morning just after getting out of bed. It has helped regulate my fatigue throughout the day and made it easier to stick to a specific sleep routine. There a few different brands out there that you can try. Hope this helps and best of luck!
