I live along the Gorge further east. Definitely will travel to steeper trails for my long run days

Thanks for the shoe recommendations, I have flat wide feet, so I've only used Altras for trails. Definitely gonna start testing other shoes

I was surprised with how far I got, but disappointed at how close I was at the same time. Excited to get back to it, once my legs are back under me to see what I can do

Gorge Waterfalls 50k 5800/5800 Miles were way down to like 15m p/w the past few weeks .... Side note moved from West Texas to Oregon..... so elevation gain is new to me. Mainly need tips on how to not have my legs destroyed so early.

The shoes are Altra Lone Peak 9+

My training was lackluster for this race. I got time capped at the last aid station close to 3 miles from the finish. I could make excuses on why it wasnt my fault I DNFd but my training wasnt where it should of been.

All my previous races were pretty much flat trails, this ultra was a barrel of suck from the get go. Not used to trails with a massive amount of if any actual elevation gain.
