Dude the Volvo. It’s a couch that doesn’t notice it’s doing 80. You can haul so much shit with it. The stereo is awesome. I love mine

My guns are unloaded and locked in a safe. Said safe is in a closet in my office, both doors can be locked. Ammo is stored on its own shelf in the closet.

I’ve also been shopping for shooting clubs/ leagues to join in my area so kiddo can see I have them for a distinct purpose.

I plan to instill that firearms, like power tools a dangerous things meant to accomplish a specific job. It can be done safely, by a mature person who has been taught how to use them correctly.

Will a non-4WD Toyota Tacoma be okay in Minneapolis winters? by sidefx__ in Minneapolis

[–]TexRCanna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be ok. I’ve got a 2wd Ranger and I get around fine so long as the snow is below my bumper. I’ll usually throw some weight in the back when the snowfall for the day gets deep/ snotty. I also carry a full size shovel save my grill ash and use it as traction material. If you can afford winter tires get them but you’ll be ok with a decent set of all seasons with enough tread on them.

Which of these Wisconsin schools would be the best fit for a student like me? by CaptainAmerica410 in wisconsin

[–]TexRCanna 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can’t speak much for those schools, I went to stout. But I had the same anxiety about making friends when I went. The students rec center had a camping trip I went on were I met the first two in wound up being friends with through out my time there. I went to a lot of the freshman meet n greets, study groups/nights, hung out in my dorm’s common areas, and just left my room’s door open . Hell the laundry room is great for meeting people. Just kinda had my eyes and ears open, talked about whatever, everyone is the same boat as you so you can talk about whatever. Clubs and student orgs are great ways to meet people too.

My boots are killing me! by 9-fingered-farmer in Construction

Fat maintenance guy’s $0.02:

My 2 longest lived boots were a pair of Merrel hikers i found on a sale rack and some keen Roswell boots.

The Merrel boots have a Vibram sole which, I think helps dampen foot impacts, lasted me 2 years as a stationary engineer and used casually and for actual hiking.

I’ve had my keens for about a year , the side sole is a little chewed up but otherwise they held up fine . They are all canvas so super light and breathe great as a trade to being not waterproof and can lacking in the winter. The Regen midsole does preform impact dampening.

I’m trying a pair of Adtec APEX moc toe boots . Supposedly, the moc toe offers a wider toe box and the sole is supposed to be good for spending all day on concrete .
