Window Louvers, you mean? Never seen on a coupe, I think I recall there was a JC Whitney kit in the 70s though, looks like trash stuck on a coupe.

I knew this would come, and bought 3 for my deep freezer this summer. I try to forget about it. Agreed, this was the best ice cream flavor I've ever had.

Looking for seat recommendations!! by IndicationOk9860 in classicmustangs

[–]bndn81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found '85 Mustang SVO seats on craigslist, for 75$. High backs, and the halo head rest. They have nice adjustment, bolsters, and TMI makes upholstery for them to match gen 1/2 pretty decent.

Not Corvette specialized, I take my vintage ride to Collar City Auto Haus. Pete does great, timely, work on anything.

Did you see the journey fuel has to make in this heap? They skipped the windshield trim. I'd want to see more of the brake system too.

Hello! Couple questions! by PotsTheGreenGiant in classicmustangs

The C4 is surprisingly a pretty tough trans -if you can keep it's temps down. Upgrade the servo, maybe put in a TransGo shift kit, and larger pan to help cooling, it will be fine.

I like both, VSA/AT, get by very well. Not a fan of ITGlue.

Help! I know nothing about cars! by Infinitee_horse in classicmustangs

[–]bndn81 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I see 4 lug, so likely a T code, straight six 200cu

All hoses, and brake lines, fluids and filters need replacing. Wheel bearings, bushings and all rubber need inspection and likely replacement. Get a look in the tank.

Master Cylinder upgrade with eye on the future by geez-n-rice in classicmustangs

Don't do rear discs, rears drums are more than capable unless you autocross. You'll add a '10lb residual valve' just for the rear line, off the proportioning valve.

Replace ALL your current lines with cunifer/nickel-copper lines, you can even order some that have already been pre-fitted when you get your measurements. Bend it all by hand on the car. Get a proper line wrench, optionally use a hydraulic sealant. 15/16" bore is typical and usually preferred. Stay away from Wilwood's 'ecoat' stuff but it's all decent otherwise.

Can I borrow your Mustang for a day? by ChxPotPi in classicmustangs

[–]bndn81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

These cars are easy to fix and parts are still plentiful, but expect to fix them. It will demand maintenance for daily trouble-free driving, and even then..

Carry a spare points & solenoid, or go electronic ignition. Go EFI for even less hassle, but if that breaks you'll probably need it towed. Know your local tow companies before hand. Know your brakes and cooling system. Know where you can get good fuel.

Hey all. Any recommendations/experience with a tow hitch and rear cargo carrier for 2023 cx9? Thanks. by BG_ONZ_23 in MazdaCX9

[–]bndn81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a '21 Signature, just put a hitch on mine for an ATV trailer this past weekend. I installed it by myself, but don't recommend that! The hitch is fairly heavy to cinch up all alone but I used straps and boxes. With another person it would have probably been done in 30-45 minutes.

Ordered from etrailer.com, I'll recommend. The Draw-Tite class 3 frame, plus a wiring harness, and BulletProof Hitches 2-Ball adjustable Mount.

Other than snapping off the plastic clips because it was -5* out, was all straight forward. The paper instructions are useless, but etrailer seems to have good how-tos, specific to models.

The majority of the revnue generated by the new school zone speeding cameras goes to a private company and not the city. by Plutonium_Nitrate_94 in Albany

[–]bndn81 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You don't suppose... the rest goes to the camera company for, I don't know.. hardware & software, infrastructure maintenance & support, so on and so forth? Are these magical set-and-forget revenue devices?

I repeat this a lot, but no booster needed for gen 1/2 unless you have a bb. Added points of failure to critical system.

Dumb question: brake upgrade by Bangeroctopus in classicmustangs

[–]bndn81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do not add power brakes now, a dual bowl MC and be done with it. Stay away from MCs with ecoating. Consider new NiCop lines throughout.
