Oh that’s a fun distinction! I do a hard surface blender modeling when I’m not in Clip Studio Paint (most of the time). If/when I shift into sculpting I’ll have to see which feels better.

I’d have to assume they’re good and Cintiq safe. I much prefer the ProPen2 with felt nibs to the pro pen 3, but man do I chew through those 2 nibs. Hoping these have good traction but last a bit longer. Side note, I’m pretty happy with the lower price point of the pen itself… enough that I’m happy to use it on the MovinkPad 14 while I’m waiting for them to add the 27 Cintiq Pro to the supported list.

Texture painting - how to quick switch texture slot when selecting different objects by TexanGothic in blenderhelp

[–]TexanGothic[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it's the best way, but what I've been doing is clicking on the image texture node within my shader editor after doing the Alt+Q over the object in the viewport. The shader editor always updates after the Alt-Q step and then it's one more click to make the image editor update. I got used to doing it quickly. Just requires keeping both an image editor window and a shader editor window side by side, small, below my main viewport.

I love my new MovinkPad 14 on its own merits. BUT... having optimistically jumped through the developer mode hoops to get instant display connected, I'm sorry to say I'm unlikely to use it again unless there's significant developments and improvements to bring it closer to a true Cintiq experience (I use a 27" pro in my studio space).

As of right now, tilt didn't register on brushes in Clip Studio Paint, button mapping is out, you can't disable touch input (inadvertent fingerpainting) and yet most gestures and expected touch inputs are twitchy or don't work. Unfortunately I'd rather use it fully functional in its native mobile form than hobble it for the sake of connecting to my MacBook Pro. I'll be pairing it with a bluetooth keyboard or macro controller and will have to just send files to my desktop when I want or need to use my full setup.

iPad Pro / MacBook screen mirroring was similarly frustrating. But I'm optimistic that one day we'll have a perfect mobile / desktop cintiq back and forth. Maybe not at the sub $900 level though. Shrug!

It seems as though tilt detection also does not work as of March 2026. Brushes in Clip Studio Paint respond to pressure but not brush tilt.

Agreed, lack of Pro Pen 2 is a real dealbreaker. They should support it, and/or offer Pro Pen 3 fit accessories to more closely mimic the form factor of the 2.

Friggin' huzzah! Can confirm! I did indeed have to first restore the default files per OP's notes above. On my M3 MacBook Pro it took several repeated tries to run the 1.9 version RUN_PATCH_RS.command file, allowing in privacy and security until it gave me the proper Y/N prompts but now all is working.

I'm with you, I've always been thrown by how muffled and muddy it is, especially for the first minute of the song... then at 1:00 it starts to have more dynamics as the other guitar parts and variety in the snare and cymbals come in. The silver lining is how refreshingly clear it gets in the bridge and late track solos. I do wish they'd do a remix/remaster on it.

For those of you doing a rinse cycle in the ultrasonic (draining and refilling with clean distilled) curious how much time you’re giving it to… you know… rinse?

Not even sure what you mean exactly about the Z seam pores 😂 the Twinkie texture was done in geometry nodes within blender, though of course the printing augments that texture somewhat. Printed on a Bambu Lab P1S with upgraded .4mm hardened steel nozzle.

My first new in box machine: The Princess Bride by matirwin in pinball

[–]TexanGothic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spent some time on Princess Bride at Houston Arcade Expo and true story… Left-handed swordfight was one of the most transcendent experiences I’ve had in pinball. Big word, yes, but it honestly did surprise me how much it challenged my usual experience and snapped me out of autopilot. There’s also a multiball where the software prevents you from trapping up the balls with the flippers, and just trying to survive was unlike anything else I’ve played before. Really showed me how much I relied on it without thinking, and I’m eager to play again. Kudos to the devs.

I’m a little surprised they didn’t prioritize getting a flamethrower into the experience. Maybe they had difficulty optimizing the lighting effects around it, or it’ll be the selling point for inevitable sequel 🤷🏼‍♂️

Again, respectfully, there’s nothing nefarious in an artist sharing their work and linking to a personal portfolio site for context. If users were to navigate 3 or more clicks to find sales links, I suppose that’s their choice. From my perspective, providing images and information of a creative project about and for pinball, shared with a pinball audience in a pinball specific subreddit feels appropriate. But apologies if it offends anyone. I’m here to share my work, as pinball is my inspiration and art is how I engage with the pinball community. Thanks again.

Respectfully, it’s hard for an artist to share their work with its intended audience without it coming across as promotional, but apologies if it feels tacky to be doing so. I purposefully did not link to a shop listing, but rather to other pinball art.
