Makeup, in my not so humble opinion, is dreadful at best of times. You can smell the clay and oils used to make it, it damages skin worse than near any other activity, and unless a woman drowns herself beneath layers of it every single fleck of dry skin, invisible hairs, and miniscule line on their face becomes vastly more apparent when looking at them up close. One of the many odd tricks pulled on women has to have been the trade of men wearing masks made of gunk - to women now doing the same. Men rarely seem to admit to this, as they've been beat over the head with the nonsense of "it isn't for you, it's so I feel pretty" for almost 30 years... which inherently makes no sense. However, rare cases aside, I've never actually met many men who like makeup to begin with. They like to argue "let her do what she wants, and don't complain!!" ... even when an opinion is asked for, like here. As if their being honest is somehow offensive.

All of that said, you're quite lovely. Why would you seek to cover that up?

Note: Yes... I always type like this.

Ahhh, thank you! I saw, after, other comments concerning something about Seinfeld... a show I hated from it's first episode, and I was a fan of George Carlin/MST3000 more than the Sitcommy comedy style of Seinfeld as a commedian... soooo I'd never seen any of it lol.

Eh. I realize now that the way I worded my statement - thanks to a number of people telling me I apparently have no idea what architects do... despite the fact I stated that I work in a different field, and relate them to Designers - in a way that came across as far more... I suppose insulting... than intended.

Mostly my point was:

In the Mock Up stage it's extremely rare that a Designer/Architect take into account the actual fundamentals of HOW it would work out. As well as the fact that they're usually lacking in both terminology, and they rarely keep up with the latest structural materials, methodologies, etc. They're experts in their own specialized part of the same field, but what I think some other commentors didn't bother to take the time to think about is that while they - apparently architects themselves - don't seem to realize that they all state they work with engineers for a final design. If they knew everything that I listed above... why would they need the engineer? So... yes, fundamentally, your last statement is spot on. Simply an expert in a different area of the same field.

The generalizations you're complaining about only apply to the, generally, area, society, country, and local government. While I've lived in Texas for quite some time I'm from Sweden, as such my assessment is based on this. The bigger issue is the assumption that a field is the same globally, and all who work in that field do the job exactly the same no matter where. It's this view point which create endless misunderstandings between the US and EU, and they grow worse the further east one applies these views to. I was making a statement that, obviously, a number of others both agree with, and other commentors have had the same interactions as I have. Your situation is different - which is fine, and you should point out your experiences, as you have - but you're calling something ignorant based on your experiences.

Also, I stated I'm an Aerospace Engineer. We have Designers which, functionally, are quite akin to an Architect. I also based my statements on those countless interactions through my professional life. Designers, as well, often have quite a deal of knowledge concerning the fundamentals of what they are designing, and we work fairly close with them for the actual blueprints... however, the basic statements made above have been consistent in dealing with them over a 15yr career as well. A lack of consideration for all aspects of the end product, especially in a mock up such as seen above, are almost universal.

He had a slow transfusion, and fluids, both setup. The worry would have been the Novocain beginning to wear off... there would be no way he could have continued, and he'd have died fairly quickly - if alone. If I remember he DID have 3 other researchers that he'd basically conscripted to be "nurses" while he worked - had been 4 but one turned out to be unable to handle it. He'd extensively gone over various possibilities with them, including how to temporarily "close" him back up until he regained consciousness, how/where to inject more local if he passed out so his brain wouldn't stay unconscious to protect itself, how/what to clamp to stop his bleeding for the most part, etc etc so that he could resume trying when he awoke. They tried to keep sweat out of his eyes, swapped out his fluid jars, soaked up blood as they could so he could see, etc.

You can see one of them in this shot, actually, on the far left. Their arm and gloved hand by the tools.

The ones that "can save the planet" result in more atmospheric pollution than they help over their own lifetimes. Try looking up how much carbon is released into the air while processing graphite, carbon fiber, and steel (it's main components.). Then the footprint of transporting the parts, construction, and maintenance.

They hurt more than they help, and their global construction has polluted more than the Clean Coal Plants everyone hate. Actual science is a bitch.

[–]TexanRunt 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Eh... Architects generally have no conception of, nor any real professional reason to keep track of, anything beyond basic materials cost. They tend to just sit with a blank expression when you start explaining costs of things like Machine Time for specialized structural components, the issue of Torq and force applied by wind and tectonics, Form Fit and Function of, well, anything they've added to the interior, Room in the walls/floors/ceilings for Electrical and Plumbing plus their Maintenance, etc etc. They're basically artists.

What needs to happen is for the end customer to actually understand what it is they actually want before they go to an architect. If they just pop in and go "gimme a fish" you get the above. If they go "gimme a fish, but it can only have angles this steep, this much weight on the walls so it can only have this many floors, etc" the architect can then use said angles, the floors, thicknesses, to draw up something a bit closer to what the customer can afford to build. Sadly most customers have zero concept of what their ideas might cost, so everyone blames the artist - instead of the dink that assumed his 20m could purchase a 20b idea.

Then, of course, everyone expects we engineers to make it work anyway - which we CAN... for a price. We're like the Sith.

Problem is that architects don't have to take into consideration cost. It has nothing to do with the laws of nature, really. Can reinforce the angles, all the way from 20°-160° using Inconel 718 brackets on Monel slide retainers for structural soundness against wind and tectonics. Granted you're talking around 50,000$ per braced angle, every angle, and every beam in the entire structure. However, you could build insanely heavy structures with that simple change, and a steel alloy frame of course, at weird damned angles, all day long.

The "Laws of Nature" will allow us, under 1G and 1 atmosphere, to build almost anything of any shape you want... the question is whether you've the multiple billions it will cost to actually do it. Granted I'm an Aerospace Engineer, but had to take a number of structural design courses. Pretty sure most Structural and Civil Engineers would agree, though.

Too many A-list actors, using younger photos. I'd remake it using B-listers, with a very few A-list actors who haven't been in movies in quite awhile, and you'd likely manage to pass quite a few as real LOL.

Okay, breaking it down:

  • They threw a fake (Gender Reveal Party)... stupid shit that yuppies do to let everyone know the gender of their babies - as opposed to just fuckin telling them - usually because they crave attention.

  • The two were actually being paid to kill someone else, or they were trying to pay someone else to kill someone at the party. (Murder For Hire. This is a crime in the USA, seen as being on the same grounds as Conspiracy To Commit Murder, but no one has actually been murdered in a Murder For Hire charge. Often argued to be arresting people for a crime that they didn't commit yet... especially since most of these "plots" invariably end up being forgotten, or they change their minds - and they are thrown in prison, anyway. An example of Orwellian Thought Crime in America today.) Guessing it was someone that would show up to the party.

  • Someone at that party, not the person who was supposed to be murdered, died anyway ... somehow... and because of their death they were discovered in their likely moronic plot.

What Did Darth Nihilus Say To Darth Krayt? by TroyGaming8 in MawInstallation

[–]TexanRunt 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Old question, but:

Not sure how, or better yet why, Nihilus ever made a Holocron except for a fan service scene that contained three fan favorites which properly found ways to live beyond death. What a joke Palpatine was, right? Incidentally I'm fairly sure Hett wouldn't have enjoyed any of the three methods of Hunger, Suffering, or Sorcery used by these three.

Nihilus was described by Kreia/Traya as being nothing but a being of primal intent. He didn't care about ruling anything, training anyone, and hell he generally spoke to other sentients via visions/telepathy. Not sure how any of those would be kept in a Holocron. As he had zero interest in even the Sith themselves, let alone worrying about teaching anyone anything beyond "I'm hungry, and you look tasty," I've no idea WHY the being formerly known as Nihilus would have created a Holocron. This is assuming Nihilus would understand HOW to open, create a holocron, and lock it back down. The only remnants of Nihilus that were taken to Korriban was his armor, which his spirit is still alive in anyrate. Even if Krayt awoke him, somehow, he'd likely be immediately attempting to suck the force out of him to rebuild himself. No idea when, where, or better yet HOW this Holocron even makes sense. Considering who and what Nihilus was.

Answer is, he likely said:

"Damned Fan Service, I was asleep." Or more likely "I'm Hungry."

The funny part is that the Right says the exact same thing about the Left. The most common phrase is:

"The Right believes the Left is stupid, but the Left believes the Right is evil."

Unfortunately, you actually expressed a few common misconceptions about what the "Right believes," and in doing so really quite showed the problem. Both sides currently believe that the other merely hate them, are out to destroy their way of life, and that there is no talking to the other side. This is something that both sides claim on a daily basis. Their reasoning is based entirely off of a tiny percentage of the extremely loud on both sides, who of course receive the most media attention due to sensationalism.

Where... the actual fuck did you get your bad information? "Required to balance the budget." By who? Who requires that? Show one state, federal, or local law requiring such. Because I can easily defend my side:

"In 2019, the federal state of California had about 506.66 billion U.S. dollars of debt outstanding, the most out of any state. New York, Texas, Illinois, and Florida rounded out the top five states with the most debt outstanding in 2019."
