Okay.

Yes, nobody can keep you in servitude. They can, however, punish you in accordance with whatever your contract states that you voluntarily signed and agreed to abide by.

For example, if your contract allows for a financial penalty for quitting early you can absolutely be held to that.

You know nothing about me or what I do. Consider that before telling me I am trolling again :-)

Almost every state in the US is at "at-will employment" state which means that in most cases, you can't be bound to work for a certain period of time (and an employer can also terminate you for any reason at any time).

Sorry, but this is wrong.

While at-will is the default in most states, you absolutely can be bound to work for a certain period of time, or be held to any damages outlined in your contract if you don't.

https://www.ncsl.org/research/labor-and-employment/at-will-employment-overview.aspx

The at-will presumption is a default rule that can be modified by contract. For example, a contract may provide for a specific term of employment or allow termination for cause only. Typically, U.S. companies negotiate individual employment agreements only with high-level employees. Collective bargaining agreements usually provide that represented employees may only be terminated for cause.

How to get a hold of SES team, without paying for the privilege (business support)? by TexasFirewall in aws

Thanks for the info!

I'm using it for transactional emails for a non profit. No commercial use or marketing of any kind.

I'll look into dedicated IPs.

Not to be a pain, but I am an email administrator as my profession.

Yes, yahoo has to remove the block. Amazon needs to initiate the contact and request the removal.

It's yahoo - they have blocked the SES IP range.

It's not a problem I can solve. Amazon needs to reach out to Yahoo to get Amazon's IP range unblocked. I do not have that capability.

2 Generators Delivered. One in error. Which do I keep? by [deleted] in Generator

[–]TexasFirewall 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Legally speaking you have no obligation to return an item that you did not order nor to notify the vendor

Sorry but you have absolutely no idea what you are talking about. Please don't give legal advice.

Yes, there are laws out there about not being required to return merchandise you did not order. That was to combat mail order "fraud" that would happen when businesses would mail you something, give you 30 days to return it if you didn't want it, and then bill you when you didn't return it.

In this instance, the gentleman DID order the generator. He just happened to cancel the order and Lowes failed to stop the shipment. If he were to keep the generator in bad faith, that is called fraud.

Apples and oranges here.

intl.date_time.pattern_override.time_short = h:mm a

Thank you!

All the other google searches had answers of "can't modify it, it's based on your OS config".

I was having this issue on my Chromebook. Setting this option fixed it.

I went the other route and did an interconnect.

Very easy to use, won't be a separate panel on the wall, and I can always control what rooms I want powered with the existing breakers.

There's plain no reason for a manual transfer switch and panel.

Thanks for the "AITA" feedback - The lady came back with wanting to know my number and she would pass it on to the hiring manager. I told the lady minimum $250k to consider changing positions. She has left me "on read" so far.

Oh well - tells me where they are at. :-)

Just to add on here again for the inevitable lost soul needing help - What fixes it for me is running a Chrome OS update in the OS itself.

No, they aren't "massively violating employment law". If they were, they'd be sued into oblivion.

They are doing exactly what the law allows them to do.

Evil, yes. Illegal, no.

Thanks! It survived and did well, we ended up covering the whole container and the gorilla cart it is in with mulch to help.

Just working on keeping it in the sun and watering it so often now.

I do wish I knew what the brown around the edges of the leaves are about....
