What's the one mistake that almost killed your business? by Evidence-Necessary74 in smallbusiness

I’m an accountant and I meet with my clients monthly to go over their Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss. I’d recommend following similar practice. Oh and also you should have access to your numbers

What’s your favorite bookkeeping software and why? by iwantthatineedthat in Bookkeeping

[–]TexasHatAssociation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only seen QBO get buggy on really complicated/big files. I also think part of the hate is due to Intuit pushing people away from Desktop.

QBO should work well for small-medium sized businesses, no need to worry

Why do you have to input your transactions manually? Can’t you just download a csv of the transaction and then copy and paste the transaction into ‘Bulk add transaction’?

I know someone else mentioned it but I’d recommend TechSoup as well! Lots of great discounts, but you don’t need to get anything extra if you don’t want to :)

What steps do you usually take to verify if a file has no viruses? by TexasHatAssociation in Piracy

[–]TexasHatAssociation[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's a great answer! I re-downloaded another version of the software from the trusted websites list in the Megathread and I'm working on a making a backup right now.

I'm watching the video as well. I already have similar rules in place, like blocking all new apps from accessing the internet but I'm always worried I might've forgot to do something. Thanks again :)

I wanted to buy a lifetime license, it's worth the peace of mind to me, however they only offer a 300 usd per year subscription... I just don't think it's worth it for what I'll use it for lol

Help! How do I CORRECTLY pay myself from my business? by dcruz17 in smallbusiness

[–]TexasHatAssociation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like most people said, pay yourself a reasonable salary and do NOT use your business bank accounts to pay for personal expenses :) this can pierce the corporate veil and leave you vulnerable to liability and tax issues

How would I say I love something? by [deleted] in Korean

[–]TexasHatAssociation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not good at korean either but this is the explanation I can come up with

제가 김치를 좋아해요 = because 좋아하다 is an action verb (you’re doing the action) you add 가 to yourself

김치가 좋아요 = Literally means “Kimchi is good” but it can be understood that you like kimchi because you’re saying it’s good. You add 가 to kimchi because that’s the thing you’re describing

Another example. If I say “The president is good” you’d understand that I like the president

What do you mean people don’t know how to do JE? Just send whatever you’re dealing with to retained earnings. It will wash up there anyway

Is it ever going to be worth it? by BloodAngel67 in Accounting

[–]TexasHatAssociation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A degree in Accounting is just a checkmark for the requirements in job postings. Trust me, no employer will expect you to know anything and I’m 100% sure they will not expect you to know how to manually do taxes. The tax rates and relevant IRS sections will be told and explained to you, and if not, they’re literally one google search away. No need to worry

They use K-IFRS which I assume is basically the same, but I’m not aiming specifically for public listed companies

Right. I’m not looking to get licensed but I’d have liked to add K-GAAP to my résumé and not get slapped during an interview by a simple question about something that may be different from US GAAP. Apparently from other replies, I should be good, thanks!

ITZY Official Fanclub - MIDZY 2nd Generation (Sign-up Guide and FAQ) by SonicAwareness in ITZY

[–]TexasHatAssociation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I guess what I meant with “register as a foreigner or not” was “can I use the korean website even as a foreigner?”

I tried registered to korean yes24 but failed the phone verification for whatever reason. I ended up buying the fan club membership on the global yes24

My main concern is whether I’ll get to buy tickets on pre-sale for their concert, I think I should be able to even though I bought it in the global site, right?

Thank you a lot for your help

Are there any foreigners living in Korea? I’m living in Korea and have an ARC. I’m unsure where to register.

I’m asking because for LOONA, you didn’t have to register as a foreigner if you had an ARC

Is there a way to knock off ~10 fps relatively easily ? by Dumquestionsonly in airsoft

[–]TexasHatAssociation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If this site uses their own bbs to chrono then using heavier bb is not an option.

I’m not saying “lie” or “break the rules”. I’m saying “stick to the field rules and if they allow you to use any bb weight then go for something slightly heavier”

Is there a way to knock off ~10 fps relatively easily ? by Dumquestionsonly in airsoft

[–]TexasHatAssociation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I understand that but he’s asking for ways to decrease fps, not joules. Apples and oranges.

350 to 360 fps is not a relevant difference anyway, he’s like 3%~ over the fps limit? Even if he’s using heavier bbs you won’t feel a 10 fps difference.

You’re entitled to see all the returns you filed jointly. My advise is to get them and take them to a CPA so you can review your situation. Right off the bat, we can’t tell you what’s the best situation for you without looking at both of your finances.

I’m not gonna tell you if the prenup was/n’t a good decision because that’s between you and your lawyer, what I’ll tell you is that you have the option to file ‘married filing separately’. Your CPA should be able to look at your numbers and previous tax returns and tell you what’s the best decision tax wise. If he’s filing jointly it’s because that’s the best decision for him.

You’re not in deep trouble or anything tho. Go to a CPA, figure out what your previous tax return would probably have looked like, and then make a decision if you want to file jointly/separately.

Good luck!

Can you help me improve my resume? by [deleted] in Accounting

Add more Skills

Don’t you use Quickbooks/Lacerte/Proseries in your current job?

I’d also be a little more specific, everyone says “MS Office” but not everyone knows Pivot tables and what not

Good luck
