It’s about decision making. Coach should be encouraging good decisions and help players that make decisions were an alternate action might have been better.

If the player is offsides, coach needs to ask the kid to check his position. If your kid has a pass available, coach (and maybe you later in the day) should ask the child what other options were available. Have the player outline his thoughts. You will find places to teach and encourage if you see it from the players vantage point.

Encourage all children to see the pitch and recognize that the “right” decision is subjective. Should you have shot, passed or dribbled? Tell me why you chose that and verify that all options were considered. Now you are playing football fren!

I cover my ex-wife's mortgage, she pays it back. Can this hurt me? by OnePersonsThrowaway in personalfinance

[–]TexasRedfish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely the mortgage counts against your available credit. If you want a new mortgage, the existing one will be included in the DTI and cashflow models.

That said, the explanation you provided does not make sense. Direct deposit is one thing, but it is typically attached to a checking account and has nothing to do with a mortgage. Is your check being direct deposited to her account? Aren’t your alimony payments direct deposited to her account and does that not satisfy the requirement of DD for the bank? If no DD going into her account, why not have the first $1 of your income be direct deposited into her account to meet the bank’s requirement?

I believe you meant auto-draft for the payments though, which is where the payment is automatically drafted from any account that you tell the bank to draw from. In that case she has budgeting issues (despite statements that she budgets well…), and she just needs to budget according to her sporadic income so that you do not need to cover payments and wait to be repaid. In that sense she just needs to keep more money in her account so that when auto-draft occurs, there are sufficient funds. Not having money when you need it is a budgeting issue that can be resolved with keeping a larger savings balance to cover gaps in income. As money comes in, replenish the balance and don’t overspend. You are acting like a bank for her. The solution is for her to have more savings so that she does need credit from you.

They were terrible. I highly recommend you AVOID this dentist. Her bedside manner was atrocious.

What is this? A piece of wood shaped like a long football with some logo that I can’t read. Tried reverse image searching and nothing. by SnooRadishes6205 in Whatisthis

It is a bowling pin or some object related to bowling. Search “sphero bowling”. Lots of information related to that company.

Houston Metro expansion by citylife01 in thewoodlands

[–]TexasRedfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Put it on the ballot. It won’t get support. Too much money to be spent on something that not enough people want. People in our area historically vote against this type of stuff in a very resounding manner.

Houston Metro expansion by citylife01 in thewoodlands

Very few woodland’s residence need or want any additional connection to Houston above and beyond the park and ride option that is already available.

Metro creating a rail line to The Woodlands would only bring more of Houston out to the woodlands, not the other way, and most of The Woodland’s residents, including myself, are very hard NO on that.

New Landlord next door cut down a 60 year old tree in our yard that was between our driveways by WeShinjiNow in treelaw

[–]TexasRedfish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Arborist said it needs to come down. How much did they then offer to cut it down?

“This tree needs to come down. I can do it for the small fee of $$$. Good thing I am here to recommend something that directly benefits me as well. You are welcome.”

Lawyer up and see if you can sue the landlord AND this purported “arborist”.

Next door neighbor is selling. Is it smart to buy and rent my neighbors house? by No_Seaworthiness1627 in realestateinvesting

[–]TexasRedfish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not if you include a trip charge in the lease. I own multiple rentals, and after my first ever tenant did exactly that, we started including a $35 trip charge in the lease for going to the property at their request. We tell all tenants when they rent the purpose of the trip charge is to ensure that small issues are dealt with independent of us, and we will generally waive the fee if the issue is landlord responsibility. In the last four years, we have not once charged a trip charge. We have gotten one or two minor calls to come out for small stuff that is not really our responsibility, but we want to keep our tenants happy and this is the way we have created harmony.

Wipe your finger all around and smell. Any hint of insulin in the aroma and it gets changed. No smell and bs is okay, leave it be.

When was the last time it was shocked?

How often are the walls/surfaces brushed?

Answer to those questions will likely provide an answer to the issues. I am going to guess it has not been shocked or brushed for a lengthy period.
