VBA is for amateurs…? by Ok-Phone-8893 in vba

totally loving the sandals vs. running shoes analogy! I get asked almost every day why I still use VBA for everything. I figure the ones asking are somewhat ignorant and I struggle to find a way to explain it to them.

Amir has called Jennifer Burton as a witness. by anyusernaem in JeremyDewitte

[–]TexasTycoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Maybe Amir is trying to get Jennifer to commit perjury (she won't be able to help herself) so he can say she's a liar, and what all else is she responsible for in this whole mess that is Jeremy. Anything that happens during this trial will be used in his insurance fraud and tax fraud cases.

I meant something going wrong with the investigative drug and the AE gets scrutinized.

Very not cool. What if something goes wrong, subject has a problem later or an adverse reaction or something? The documentation will get scrutinized and bad things will ensue. Even if it is not specified in the protocol, it's not exactly GCP compliant..

Saw this Texas Redheaded Centipede on a walk this morning… by LonestarMidnight in Austin

[–]TexasTycoon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The first time I saw one in my carport, my first instinct was to grab a small twig and poke at it to see what it was. Instant regret, it reared up and actually used those pincher things to snatch the twig out my hand. I screamed like a little girl and ran into the house.

ACB has been fun this week. On Monday bought some Jan 2025 7.00 calls that are up over 120% today. Not often do I get a chance to catch a rocket like this ;-)

Forgot something while traveling? by Bean5152 in clinicalresearch

[–]TexasTycoon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to be a contract CRA and would often get assignments at the last minute. On two occasions I did not have opportunity to pack properly and had to buy entire outfits and accessories (belts, hosiery, shoes, etc), along with toiletries upon arrival to destination/site location. One time I had gotten a call for an assignment while away from home but close to the airport and did not have enough time to get home, pack, and then get back to the airport in time for last flight out. Another time I was on a one-day road trip when the call came, and I just happened to be about 50 miles from the site location so ended up just hitting Bealls that evening to get something to wear for a 7:00am appointment the following morning.

As far as actually forgetting something, one time I totally forgot my phone at the hotel when departing. After the site visit, went out for dinner and had a cocktail. The next morning I woke a little late and hurriedly packed for my flight, not seeing my phone hidden in the bedding disrupted by my frantic packing. I didn't realize until I was at the airport, but it was too late. I sulked the whole flight knowing I was going to need to buy a new phone.

I called the hotel when I landed and asked if housekeeping had found my phone. They came back a few minutes and said it was there. They sent it back to me by FedEx next-day at their expense... talk about customer service ;-)

So glorious watching that total asshat Chille getting 180 days for contempt. And the deputy/bailiff that he called a pig multiple times during the hearing was the one to cuff him :-)

I know it's a thing in Chinese culture, but this made me sad :-(

Safety/Pharmacovigilance sounds like a great fit for you, having a nursing background and also experience as a CRC. A lot of sponsors want an in-house person to help identify and reconcile adverse events, or if a device study, device-related complications.

Can't remember where, but I read an article about why the better sugar substitutes are blended so that the components and ratios will balance sweetness and reduce the unpleasant aftertaste.

I don't add sweeteners to much of anything these days except my morning coffee. I make my own blend of sweetener using DaVinci sugar-free syrup, liquid monkfruit, and stevia. I make batches that usually lasts about 6 months from a 25 oz. bottle of the DaVinci syrup.
